Going from Roku to a Firetv seems like a bit of a downgrade to me, and I’m not a fan of Amazon products. Only plus is we wanted a larger screen and this fit our needs

Nothing Like the Previous Version - Skip This!

Amazon customer service was very unhelpful (they had no idea how to troubleshoot and told me to take it back to the store - as if toting a 43 inch tv is the same as taking a pair of shoes back to the store). Thank goodness for Google and the online forums that have advice from other purchasers and unofficial techies. The online forums helped me bypass the update issue (hmmm... Amazon may want to update their training for customer service reps). Bypassing the update left me relying on my cable service (Comcast) to provide me access to the apps (Netflix, HBO Max, etc.). This technology/software for this TV is horrible and Amazon customer support is the WORST with regards to troubleshooting this TV.
