Great buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from an old 10 to 12 year old Sony that started having backlight issues just a couple days ago. First impressions - Pro's Good picture & decent brightness Beautiful sound! It surprised the heck out of me. Bass in Movies is astounding! Con's Setup was a bit confusing.. Menu system could use some optimizing & restructuring to make things a bit more easy. Disappointing Internal storage - Only 5GB of internal storage.. at most can only install about 5 apps... Which may be fine for some, but I would have preferred double that. USB storage option is extremely finicky.. I tried several thump drives only 1 worked. An HP 8GB. It is said (in a forum post that I searched for) that it can use a 128GB drive. I have 4 of them... 1 was identified at one point, yet during formatting it failed. I am going to continue to work with the one that failed to see if it can be done... However it is not looking good. Conclusion - Not a bad deal to be honest.. Just a few problematic things that could use a bit of altering. I am happy with my purchase & would recommend it.

The picture quality and sound is incredible!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv really gives you the bang for the buck - we first bought a different brand 4K tv but the picture looked horrible for non-4k content (basically all the stations from our cable provider). Switched to this tv specifically because it is Full HD and not 4k and am more than happy that I did. I read reviews that the sound quality and picture quality was amazing for this tv and it absolutely is. The setup on it was straightforward and I think the FireTV interface is really easy to use. Couldn't be happier with this purchase!

Well above average TV, but it’s not greatness.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Toshiba is one of the many TV manufacturers who have been making TV’s for several decades. Moreover they’ve remained fairly consistent in making well above average, but just short of great, one’s too. The average user/owner will likely have nothing bad to say about them, but in the long run they rarely stand the test of time. A truly great quality flat screen TV often lasts well over a decade, many still have, use and love theirs from 12-15 or more years ago when flat screens first started becoming popular and widespread. But also at the time TV’s were nearly the same in terms of their average life expectancy, so take that one with a grain of salt for sure. Even Best Buy’s store exclusive line were great back then and now their quality is all over the place and wildly inconsistent. The smartest strategy for today if your in the market for a TV is to either go with the well known top 3 brands (Samsung, LG & Sony) or a budget brand that honestly has a 50-50 chance of being a great investment and purchase (such as TCL, Walmart’s ONN, Hisense). What’s also out there is what’s often dubbed as being a mid tier line of TV’s (Toshiba, Philip’s & Vizio) with the sales gimmick that you can get a very well known brand of TV by a company who still has a legitimate reputation for making above average quality TV’s. For the most part this is actually true, but obviously corners have to be cut somewhere so that they can keep these mid tier brands competitively priced and the ultimate effect is usually a lack of quality in terms of how long they’ll typically last. So what’s all this equate to? Well, if you’re getting a 43 inch or smaller TV and/or it’s exclusively for the bedroom or kids room then a mid tier TV is actually a solid choice. Meanwhile if you’re after a primary TV then definitely look to the top 3 brands or else know that you’re seriously taking a gamble on a mid tier TV while using it as your main TV.

Save youe money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought this model TV. Replacing another Brand that died @ 5 years old. Hoping for the best that this lasts longer...Now for the review - Overall I give it 3 stars. Easy set up and easy connection to WiFi. Picture on regular broadcast through the cable box is very good. Now the downsides - There is an occasional yellowing of faces but not sure what that is about. We have found with Closed Captioning on we do not miss dialog and nuance. OK, click the remote and CC is on for broadcast! Go to some different apps (like Amazon Prime) and the TV does not display the CC and then on other shows it does. What is that about?? Watched a show on Prime last night and the picture was in a letter box format with no way for the remote to make it full screen. Also, the picture was like viewing through a fogged window, certainly not a clear picture. We us TV ears so the sound is wireless to a box very close to us. Most of the time the sound is through the Ears BUT then the TV decides for some app's not to put out the digital signal. So, it's blare the TV. I have searched the Q&A sections for an answer as well as the Expert Tech chat with no help to resolve this problem. I downloaded the Owners Manual, and that was no help. Save you money. TV is going into OCCASIONAL USE in the spare bedroom as its too late to return to the store.

Slow Response Time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Nice Picture. The Xbox looks nice on it too. Cons: This TV is extremely under powered. I turn it on, it takes 1 to 3 minutes to load the software before I get a picture. Much longer if it decides to do a software update. The TV's response to the remote control is also slow. I try to switch channels or move to another icon or app and nothing happens for the first 5 - 10 seconds, I press the button again, it moves 2 spaces. It's makes for a very annoying TV experience. I don't even think about trying to watch antenna TV when the WiFi is out. I can do it, but I really don't need an inanimate object arguing with me that much.
