I enjoy this simple, affordable TV. Easy to use, works very well, resolution is good, sound is very impressive even without a soundbar system. No smart features built-in, but the Chromecast works great and my Xbox One does as well.

This TV has exceeded my expectations. The picture is so clear and vivid. I couldn't believe the price on this 4K HD TV and we are actually thinking of purchasing a second one for my husbands mancave for his sports and gaming.
TV was easy to hookup and so lightweight it was easy to handle.

When purchasing, I was skeptical about the TV; I wanted a 4k but didn't want to dish out a lot of money. I've been pleasantly surprised! Setup was a breeze (which I did through my phone which was pretty neat). Chromecast is built in. Picture and sound quality are great, definitely a great buy!

Sorry I didn't buy this TV on Black Friday for $200. Didn't need it then. Still a great value for the sale price of $349.99 when so many similar sets are pricier. Very nice picture, good sound and love the Chromecast. Others have said it was hard to set up. Didn't find this at all, very easy actually if you read the instructions. I already had the Chromecast app as I was using the hdmi chromecast on another set. The complaint with Chromecast seems to be a perceived limitation of apps/sites. Those are all available through Chromecast through the app on the phone. On top of that this has the added benefit of being able to mirror anything you want from your phone, tablet or computer. You don't get that with Roku. I wish this set had been on display at my local store. Since it wasn't I spent a lot of time looking at others and reading reviews. I finally jumped on it when another buyer came in very excited about it. Glad I did. Very happy with this set. Would recommend it to anyone.

I bought this TV to replace an older Toshiba TV. It has a great picture, decent sound and it looks modern and well built. It was easy to hook up and the set up for picture and sound quality was really easy. For the low price, this is an awesome 49 inch TV.

Before you make your purchase, please be aware, there's NO User's Manual will help you to set up this TV, and you won't find the User's Manual on Toshiba Web, because this model is not even listed on their web yet!
If you want to know how to setup the Chormecast for your TV, please read this review first.
I was looking for a TV that would allow me to cast from my PC and access to my home DLNA. Unfortunately, this TOSHIBA TV is NOT able to access to my DLNA like the other SONY TV does even it is connected directly to my router.
Additionally, if you are looking for PC casting to TV through Chromecast, you will have to setup the casting from your remote device (your cell phone or your tablet) first, then you can cast your Google Chrome to your TV (very inconvenient).
If cast to Google Chrome doesn't meet all what you want, and you would like to cast your local video file to your TV through Chromecast, then you will have to download an app called "Plex Media Server" to your PC, and make your PC like a DLNA, and you can cast through that virtual DLNA server (See attached screenshot). Only tread-off is you will have to leave your PC on all the time when you want to cast a movie or a video to your TV, which I don't like.
The ideal smart TV for me is the one like SONY BRAVIA we got in the living room, it can access to my local server through wireless connection to my router and watch the HD movies that I stored on my server directly, because I really don't want to turn on my PC and let it stay idle when I just want to watch a local movie on my big TV screen! Otherwise, I can just watch the movie on my two 28" 4k monitors, can't I?
I would still like to recommend this TV because $399 isn't a bad price for a 49" 4k TV with Chromecast capability.

I got this TV for my mom to replace her old 40 some-odd inch Plasma TV that she had in her living room due to her TV getting shadow boxes on the top, bottom, and sides of the TV from Widescreen movies with the letterboxes in them for Closed Captioning and so forth. I was extremely surprised when I saw this 49 in 4K TV for $350 at the store. I snatched up that thing up, walked it up to a register, and went back and handed it to her. I love this TV, it is bright, clean pictured, and really vivid. With the 3 HDMI ports to it, I was able to connect her cable box, Blu-ray player, and Roku up to the TV. I also love the fact that this TV has Chromecast to it. So whenever there is a movie trailer or some random video clip that I want to show her, I can just quickly connect to it with my LG G6 and show her right there on the spot.

I bought this TV during BF 2016 sale.
Pros:
- Good sound (with inbuilt Dolby surround sound)
- 4K Ultra quality is decent and good
- User interface is simple
- In built chromecast works well
Cons:
- When it tries to display the 480p regular digital broadcast, I believe it enlarges the pixels to suite the need which gives more blur. So I am thinking of opting to HD TV Box to make use of my 4K TV
- Inbuilt Chromecast losts audio only when I casting some vides from my laptop (But this works perfect with my separate chromecast). Same video when I tried to cast from my mobile it works perfect with the TV.
- USB port only supports Images.

I bought this TV for the price on Black Friday and I am not upset at all going with my choice. I had no idea this TV had the Google Chromecast option so I can stream from my phone, and I have an iPhone. Picture quality is also great.

This is a no frills 4K television.
The good: Excellent picture in any mode. I found this to be a good 2nd television for the bedroom , for gaming and watching streaming video or recorded 4K video.
The not so good: The remote only lets you change channels by going up or down one at a time. No number pad and forget about buying a universal. The sound is sometimes quirky when going from one channel to another as it jumps to a louder level. The channel info is unreliable and not detailed. The menus are limited for set up or adjustment.
I would recommend this Television for a second set or for gaming as the price is excellent for the picture you get.

I got this television on Black Friday for $199 and I was very happy. Got it home and it was easy to set up and the picture is pretty good. It did one forced firmware update during a football game without asking if I wanted to update. BAD Toshiba! BAD!
Overall, I thought the television was good. The remote is nothing to be desired though. It has no number keypad to change to the channel you want directly. I downloaded the Toshiba remote from google play and it worked great but you can't turn on the television with it. You have to use the supplied remote. The remote app does have a number pad to change the channels to the one you want directly. Another nice feature because of it's network setup, when you turn the television on, the app on your smart phone will activate so you can use it. You don't have to activate it yourself.
Where it all went wrong:
The television began to randomly turn off and turn back on. Reboot so to speak. First it was just once every few days. Then once a day and then several times a day. Then one night it just turned on by itself, no picture but there was sound. Doing some troubleshooting myself, I unplugged all the HDMI connections because if you have an Amazon Fire TV or a Blue-ray player, the moment you turn the device on, the television turns on along with the device. It's a cool feature. Needless to say that was the problem. Well, we like to have all our devices plugged in. I tried disabling the HDMI feature but it still turned on the television at night randomly. The television is on roughly 3 to 4 hours a day when everyone gets home and maybe 6 to 7 hours on the weekends.
I ended up returning the television but found a Hisense 4k 50" television with HDR for $200 more and WOW! It has a much better picture, sound and remote. It suffers in some features such as built in Chromecast but it has its own cast product that works extremely well. The reviews are all good for the Hisense.

It's a great tv, picture is amazing, sound is great for a flat screen. I'm not really a fan of chromecast, kind of a garbage interface in my opinion. You'd be better off to use a roku or other smart device for streaming. Don't like the idea of having to cast from my phone or a computer.....wouldn't it make more sense to have it all in the TV like other smart TV's w/ hulu, netflix, etc? Only other major gripe is that it doesn't have any buttons on the unit itself. YOU HAVE TO USE YOUR REMOTE, or a tv remote app on a phone.......other than that well worth the price paid.

I was totally impressed by the high quality of this product. The image is vivid and sound is pure, which is something you look into a 4k TV. I'm glad I inclined more towards this TV, especially to Best Buy when I initially thought of Target. Black Friday was a great experience and employees were clear and friendly. Definitely coming back for more products

Cost and availability were the biggest factors in this purchase, it was about the size I was looking for for the amount I wanted to spend and it was in stock.
The smart TV features can only be used with the Google Home app (through your smartphone or tablet), which is a little bit gimmicky for me. It's cool to be able to use your phone as a remote, but would be just as cool to not have to bother with another device.
For the price, I'm pretty happy with the sound quality of the speakers.
I've had this for a little over 6 months now and no issues.

I like this TV. We got the TV with a Xbox because of the 4k benefit. The TV works great and has an amazingly clear picture. If I was to be extra critical I would point out that I'm not a massive Google Cast. Don't really need the product at this time. When you turn the TV on it always goes to the Google Cast input until you set it up. I kind of wish it would have allowed me to automatically go to HDMI 1 without hitting the input button. I had to teach my kids how to use the input button on the remote. I set up Google Cast and now HDMI 1 comes up but I really didn't want to set it up and don't really want to use it. But really this isn't a big deal.
