Unless you want a TV to last for a year, don't get a Toshiba TV. Maybe they are not in the TV business! Back light went out after 13 months, of course after the 12 month warranty expired. Just pay the extra for a different brand. The reviews are misleading!

I get this is a $349 4K TV, and while overall a solid product, I did not expect the large blue blotching and bleeding as though it was broken. Natural scenes seem fine, but challenge with any special effects and picture is very bad.

In right under 2 weeks, the screen went out on this tv. First a big white stripe on screen then within minutes half the screen went white and then next time I went to turn tv on, it was nothing but a black screen. Bummer because the picture was a very nice quality

Since the TV market has been in the hands of a couple of big brands, it is nice to see Toshiba back in this market with this model that offers features that compete at the same level and offers great video quality as well as sound. Unpackaging was straight forward. It took me 15 min. The box comes with the tv, 2 printed Quick start guide in English and Spanish, Fire tv remote, 2 detachable legs, 2 AAA batteries and a power cable. Initial setup was smooth, once you turn on the tv it starts to look for network connectivity. I have it connected wired so it automatically started to look for firmware updates and once the update is finished, an interactive tutorial took place. You can also have wireless connectivity. I highly recommend to follow the tutorial, it is not long and you will learn the basics of the tv. Now, the first thing that is noticeable is the resolution and colors. The video quality is outstanding, it really is a 4k HDR. I have 2 other tv’s, 4 years old and a tv that is one year old. The last one is a 4k, but with the Toshiba, blacks are black. Every single color is brilliant and the little details of the picture is amazingly clear, not saturated or white. Without changing the factory default it has an amazing picture, video resolution, it is a true 4k Ultra HDR picture quality that gives a superior TV experience, I will say more vivid or lifelike. Even the Antenna local channels program looks great on this TV! I have a Sony Blu ray 4k player, and I couldn’t have enjoyed more watching Thor Ragnarok, not to mention the Sound, which was clear, and loud, only using the internal built in ONKYO speakers. Let’s talk about the functionality, for what I need, it has everything you need to connect the TV to any device available in the market. Starting by the Coax Cable jack in, which I use a lot, I have an exterior antenna to watch the air digital channels, through the tv settings, you can start the Search for digital channels. There is also a Lan Port for wired connectivity, RCA AV in, Stereo Jack audio out, Digital Optical Output, 3 HDMI ports, one of this is an ARC port, and one USB port. Through the USB you can view pictures stored in a USB drive, or Use it as additional storage for the TV which I found very useful. The ARC Port is a feature I loved. I have a Soundbar that I connected to this TV. The ARC feature doesn’t come enable by default, so in order to enable this feature you will have to turn on HDMI-CEC In order for them to turn on HDMI-CEC they need to do the following Go into Settings/Display & sounds/ HDMI-CEC Device control and switch it to ON. Now, I decide to add the Soundbar at the very end, just for testing purposes, because I have to say that the Built in TV speakers are great! I was really surprised about the performance and the power of the sound, and reading the specs I found out why. This TV comes with Onkyo Speakers. I you don’t care about having 5.1 sound, the Toshiba built in TV speakers will please you for sure. This is something that you will not find on any of the other popular brands. The TV is sturdy, but not bulky, which make me feel confident and reliable because it doesn’t feel flimsy or weak comparing to the others TV in the market. The remote is pretty simple, few keys, but well designed, you can do everything you need with the way the keys are distributed. And I also noticed, that if you have just a little experience with previous TVs, you can easily learn how to operate this one, it is completely intuitive. Now, during the initial setup you add or create a Amazon Account, you can enjoy all the benefits of having Alexa with the mic located in the remote. You can change the HDMI port, ask for a specific, video, or app or anything, through voice command, and it will do it. Because it has the ability to connect with Alexa, it be connected via Amazon Echo. The remote includes 4 buttons that are preset to Prime Video, HBO, Netflix and Playstation Vue. You can also assign names to the HDMI inputs so you can say “Alexa switch to HDMI1” or “switch to WII.” Can be paired with an echo device so you don’t even need to use the remote voice button and can go hands free with your TV experience. Having Amazon Fire TV built into the TV in combination with Alexa makes a huge step up into the TV technology nowadays. By far, this Toshiba TV is impressive! For just $400 you can have a 50in TV with all these features and great video and sound quality, as well as the Alexa functionality, it is a great choice for someone who is looking for all these features at an affordable price. I would highly recommend this budget-friendly and great quality 4K TV.

Bought this TV in 2019 and the screen is dead in less than two years. LG Tv that used to be in the living room where I installed this TV is still working with no issues after 4 year. Get what you pay for I guess.

We bought this TV and almost immediately weird things stared to happen—color issues, sound issues (would go mute when pause in convo in movies) and finally a line across the top. Thank goodness we had insurance.

I had this tv for a few weeks. If you are using this tv just to watch Netflix and Hulu then you will have no issues. However, I would not go with this tv if you are looking to game. Graphics are not the best.
