Colors that pop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV to replace our aged 40" Sony/Google TV. The setup was a breeze and as soon as we had a picture, I couldn't believe the clarity of the picture. I mean the colors practically POP off the screen. The only downside I can think of is that we still have to use our cable box and remote to watch anything on cable (that's no knock on the television itself). But as of this writing I can skip between cable, antenna (where we only pick up a few stations), Blu-ray player and Kodi video box. And yet we still have Netflix and everything else right at our fingertips (or voice if you prefer to use Alexa as your guide). Now if somebody could only tell me how to get around that cable box..But still, for the price and the picture quality, I would definitely say this TV is a bargain.

Excellent display and user-friendly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the TV that my mom and I decided on to replace her aging 720p HD Vizio TV. Due to budgetary factors, we needed to choose one under $400. I'll admit that I had some hesitation with an HDR-capable display being priced at such a low amount, but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, this TV is far from a top-of-the-line UHD display, but it certainly looks far better than what one might expect with a budget TV. As this is an Amazon Fire TV unit, the OS interface is identical to the Prime Video app and the Fire OS line of devices. It is very clean and simple to use. My mom is not the most savvy with such things, and she's been able to operate it with minimal hassles. This is definitely an excellent choice for an entry-level UHD display.

Great budget-friendly 4K Fire TV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After testing all of its features during the past several days, I would highly recommend this budget-friendly 4K TV. Worth noting, I have multiple TVs with various versions of Roku attached via HDMI and was hesitant to try a TV that has a built in streaming service other than my Roku experience. However, I am very pleased with the Fire TV software within the Toshiba. Seeing as I am new to Fire TV, those reading this may already be familiar with how it works. I like how all the apps and over-the-air TV are shown on the home screen without having to change inputs. In addition to videos and live TV, there is also a large selection of games that can be downloaded and played via a connected Bluetooth device, which I figure I could use an Xbox One controller. However, I did find it annoying that the over-the-air channels were listed in the guide in alphabetical order according to network name (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc) instead of the channel number that I am used to for my local area. It would be nice to see an update that allowed the user to decide if it should be sorted by network name or channel number. Also, the remote took some getting used to. There are no channel up/down buttons and the 4 'sponsored' buttons are preset to Prime Video, HBO, Netflix and Playstation Vue. It would be nice if you could customize those to different channels/apps. Also, a backlit remote would have been a nice touch since I like to watch TV in a dimmed room. On to the actual TV review. It is listed as 4K with HDR but nowhere on the packaging does it say it has HDR capability and there are no settings within the software that mention it either. Also, it is about 3.7 inches thick and I was hoping for something quite a bit thinner to make it look sleeker to not stick out as much since I have it wall-mounted. On a positive, I know it is listed as 10W audio, but I am personally pleased with the sound from the Onkyo speakers. Also, even though the video/display preference settings are minimal, there are still enough options to tweak the picture to your liking and the quality of the video is excellent. To be fair, most of my nitpicking has to do with the software and not the actual Toshiba TV and its good quality. There is always the possibility that future Fire TV updates will improve the user-experience. Overall, there are more positive features than negative that I would recommend it to others looking for a 4K TV with built-in streaming services.

Posted .Hi,
Thank you very much for your review of our Toshiba Amazon Fire TV Edition TV. Following up on your comments around TV channel tuning, there are several features available to help find and tune to your favorite channels.
1.From the Home Screen the "Recent" row will show the channel that you last watched.
2.Also from the Home Screen, the "On Now" row will show the last several channels that you watched. Similar to that, when you are watching a TV show, pressing the menu down key will show a channel guide which also shows the last several channels you watched.
3.Additionally, the remote control includes a "Channel Guide" button, which lists all the available TV channels. When you are in the channel guide, pressing the Menu button on the remote will give you options to save stations to a Favorite Channel list, and also to show the Favorite Channel list or All channels.
4. And finally, you can use your Voice Remote with Alexa to tune directly a TV station. With voice commands you can tune by channel number or the name of the TV station.
We hope this clarifies the features on your new TV.

A very good experience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to put a TV in a guest bedroom without paying for an additional cable hookup, and the Toshiba Smart – 4K UHD TV with HDR – Fire TV Edition was the right way to go. Before I moved the TV to its permanent home, I hooked it up to a cable outlet and Blu-ray player and tried it out. No matter what input I used – Wi-Fi, Blu-ray, or cable – this TV delivered excellent reception, a high quality picture, good sound, and all around good performance. The affordable price makes everything even better. The good experience began with the packaging. The first thing I saw when I opened the box was a diagram for how to remove everything from the box and how to separate the TV from its Styrofoam cocoon. I have kept that diagram in case I ever need to re-box the unit, because I know from experience that what appears obvious when you’re unpacking equipment is often far from obvious when you need to repackage it. The next good experience was how easy it was to attach the feet to the TV and hook up the various wires and cables. There again was a very straightforward diagram that allowed me to do this alone and get everything right the first time in about 5 minutes. The only thing left to do was to strip off the protective plastic film, insert the batteries into the remote, and turn everything on. Set up was a breeze. Onscreen directions walked me through everything, and as soon as I had entered in the Wi-Fi, Amazon, and Netflix passwords and allowed for a software update, I had access to everything. The closest thing I can think of to an inconvenience is for users who usually watch TV using the cable input. When you turn on the TV, it opens to the Fire TV option, not the last viewed input. However, the opening screen does display the Recent, Last Viewed, and On Now content, and you can just click on your desired option. It takes just a second to accomplish this. I couldn’t be happier with the Toshiba Smart – 4K UHD TV with HDR – Fire TV Edition and wouldn’t hesitate to use it as my primary TV. Indeed, whenever my husband or I want to go off and watch TV alone, we go to the guest bedroom and use this TV instead of watching the higher-priced TV in our master bedroom. If (when?) the day comes that we finally cut the cable cord, we will either move this TV into our den or buy another one for that location, because it makes streaming so convenient and simple. A very good experience.

If you are looking for quality-affordable LED TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Toshiba TV is outstanding! You can have not only a 50in TV with LED TEchnology and great quality color resolution, but sound as well as (Onkyo Speakers) and Alexa functionality, it is a wise choice if you are looking for affordable and being pleased with all the features included on this TV. It also have the Sling TV app free for 3 months, and after that $25/m which makes me consider seriously to get rid of my cable subscription. It is really a 4k HDR. Every single color is brilliant and the little details of the picture is neat, You dont need to change the factory default, the way it comes configured makes an amazing picture. Ports are: Lan Port for wired connectivity, RCA AV in, Stereo Jack audio out, Digital Optical Output, 2 HDMI ports, and 1 HDMI ARC port, and one USB port. The USB is just for viewing pictures stored in a USB drive, or as an additional storage for the TV. The HDMI ARC feature doesn’t come enable by default, so in order to enable this feature you will have to turn on HDMI-CECIn. The initial Setup is very simple, you can setup you Netflix, Youtube or amazon account and it will find automatically all the Wireless networks available, all you have to do is add your Password. The remote has a simple and intuitive configuration, few keys but enough to manage all the features you need.

Very Good TV; Less Boxes; Great for CordCutters
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So plain and simple, this is a next chapter in our television experiences... the built in Amazon Fire, now IN the TV... changes things a little. One less box, all integrated and tightly bound... wrapped up in a stunning picture and sound. The remote is almost identical to your modern Fire TV remote. Has the Voice options, so you can control it via Alexa... you can also search and play content. The TV starts right up into the Amazon Fire TV menu/screen. From there you have access to ALL of your setup content: DIRECTV Now, CBS Access, Netflix, NBC, History, Amazon Prime, etc... it appears anything that was available on Amazon Fire TV (Standalone) is available here...(I haven't found anything that isn't). You also have access to external boxes, via 3 HDMI inputs (on the LEFT side of the TV)… 4k UHD ready, gives you a STUNNING picture. Dolby kicks out the sound in good fashion, and this TV can get LOUD. Very light... especially for 50"... while one person COULD mount it by themselves, make it easy... use two. But this TV has to be at least half the weight of my 6 year old Sharp 43" that it is replacing. Takes about 5+ minutes to get the software updated when you first start. I used a HARDLINE ethernet connection (Because I had one). So I didn't try the Wireless, but it is there. So for the most part, all positive. My two negatives, and why I gave it 4 stars. First: If you are not a pure cord-cutter, and still use external devices (like a DIRECTV box) as your primary source of video... you need to use the OEM TV remote, each and every time you start to select the HDMI input. Second: The power cord is short, about 6ft. depending on your mounting situation, this may lead to problems. Upside, it is removable, thus you can get a bigger one from Amazon or somewhere else.

Posted .Hello Ebonovic,
Thank you very much for your review comments on our new Amazon Fire TV Edition TV. We take customers feedback very much into consideration so we have recently enabled a software update that provides a new feature that allows the TV to power up directly to the last input you were watching. This software will be automatically downloaded to the TV when your TV is connected to your home network. You can also check for new software updates from the Settings menu: from that menu navigate to Device & Software -> About -> Check for System Update. If new software is available it will then update.
To change the TV to power up directly to the last input setting, press the Home button on your remote control and select the Settings menu. Then select the Display & Sounds menu and change the Power On setting to Recent row. With this new setting, the TV will power up to the last input that was watched. Keep enjoying your new TV!

Good TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I like about the: For the most part you only have use one remote control to use the TV. For the most part the picture quality is great, but sometimes the picture does not look as vivid as it did on my LG. The sound quality is great. Alexa as usual is great, I've been able to find show times, and other things just by asking my television. Who knew!!! I've been able to use YouTube by going through FireFox. What I didn't like: The remote control, I haven't been able to figure out to adjust the settings on the TV, such as brightness, colors, etc. The remoter seems like it's missing something, like I still have to use my remote control to change the channel for DirectTV. Although I do like the shortcut buttons for Netflix, Playstation Vue, etc.

This Toshiba product knocks out other brands
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hesitated to buy this Toshiba brand A LOT and now that i have used it for over 2 weeks i realize that i am so happy i went for it, here are a few reasons: - it has worked better than my SONY TV as of today and it's been 2 weeks - wifi reception very good (i dont need to wire it and my modem is on another floor) and i state it because I can stream continuously Youtube, Netflix etc. NO ISSUES AT ALL. - the remote is "Alexa Type" but is easy to get used to it , it is not complicated. - The colors, the contrast is great, - For the price is so worth it. Compared to Sony (similar model) i would have spent twice the price )
