Customers consistently note the 55" Class 4K Ultra HD TV's excellent picture quality, affordable price, and easy setup. Many appreciate the built-in Chromecast feature, while others find the sound quality to be solid. However, some customers express concerns about the remote control lacking numbers, the TV's durability, and its limited refresh rate of 60Hz.

Toshiba 55 Class 546 Diag LED 2160p with Chromecast Builtin 4K Ultra HD TV Black. This TV all of a sudden stopped coming on. It flickered and power cycled like everyone elses, but one day it went off now doesn't power on. I can unplug it the red light comes on then the toshiba logo then it turns right back off. The TV is done. after approximately 2 years.

Severe input lag, bad colors, blurry image

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I cannot determine the specific amount of input lag, but on modes other than 'gaming' the input seems to average from 40-60ms of input lag, which is completely unacceptable in a tv released after 2010. While 'gaming mode' alleviates MOST of the input lag, it is still higher than other TVs at a similar price. Not to mention, in 'gaming mode', the image shifts to a lower resolution while there is motion on the screen. And even on still images, gaming mode causes 4K and 1080p images to be extremely blurry, looking more like 720p. Color depth is shallow, darks are too bright and colors are extremely washed out. The one benefit over my previous TV, a Panasonic plasma I had purchased in 2011, is that this TV has no image tearing I can see during motion. Also during motion, images are extremely blurred, making small text almost illegible. Terrible product all around. Returning in the next week.

Stay away if care about getting updates.

All network connected devices are vulnerable to attacks, that is why pretty much all big companies Google, Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, etc.. keep saying we regularly provide security update to protect your device. Now chromecast, firestick, Roku all do the same as well, except when they are built-in. In this case, Toshiba or the manufacturer is supposed to provide the update. For Toshiba that is never. They have not updated the software since day1 and have now discontinued the TV support all together (within 2 years of release). They want us to believe these devices are like Dixon pencils and expect us to lose, break or replace in weeks and months. So if you are someone who plans to keep their device several years till it naturally dies. Stay away from this.

We have owned this TV 37 days. About day 21 we started noticing that the TV picturing was lagging and getting blurry. It would almost like skip the picture. I checked my other televisions on that channel worried it was my provider but none of my other TVs were doing it. I unplugged the Tv and waited 1 min plugged back it. Just the TV not my cable box. And it seemed to fix it. For a few days and it started doing it again intermittently and again. Because of Best Buy's terrible return policy of 14 days I cannot return it. I have the recipt and the box but nope they won't take it. So now I have to go through Toshiba and in 1 week they will send a technician out. How can you troubleshoot a problem when it only happens sporadically?! Very annoyed at this TV and Best Buy. I should have purchased elsewhere with a better return policy.

TV had a great price picture and price was good but tv does not work with a outside antenna or inside antenna some channels come through but some channels are doubled up on one screen sometimes also there was a green line running at the bottom of the screen I would not recommend this TV. I did take the TV back and exchange it for the same one but it did the same thing again I show video and pictures of what happened and was allowed to get a different TV which was better and all the channels worked came in and everything else worked properly. Was treated by staff at Best Buy GREAT.

I had problems setting up the google cast. I called Toshiba they told me that I needed to get help from my internet service provider, I called them and they told me I had to call the router manufacturer. I called NETGEAR and spent an hour and 13 minutes on the phone and had to pay them $90.00 to change settings in the router before the TV would connect to my home network. After getting connected and trying chromecast I was very disappointed. ROKU is so much easier and offers more. I'm out $90.00 and all the time spent on the phone for nothing. I will never use the chromecast.

    Blurry after 3 weeks

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I loved the TV initially for the price but after 2 weeks it started with fast double vision images that lasted only a few seconds, a week later it got much worse ( longer periods of time and more frequent blurring) and now sometimes the screen goes black for 20 to 30 seconds meanwhile watching something as well. Don't buy it.

I thought I was getting a great tv with excellent picture. I was wrong it only took 18 days for the screen to start becoming disorted. This king it was my cables I switched between cable box to my ps4 and then to Google Chromecast. Had the same issue in all 3. Happily got a Vizio way better way happier!!

About 6 months in the tv started to have a power failure. After 14 months of owning the TV, the screen has gone out. It is 2 months out of warranty. Really last respect for the Brand and the lack of longevity

After 3 months of owning, the TV cracked on the inside, after being lightly bumped while on its stand and now the screen is forever messed up. This is a VERY fragile TV! LCD TV's are more durable.
