very impressive, certainly at this price point
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the good: picture quality - This is probably the single most important thing for most people when purchasing a new TV. This Toshiba excels in that category. It may not have some of the features of the higher end models, but for this price it is absolutely fantastic. 4k and HDR, and boy can you tell when you’re watching it. This TV is priced under $500, and looks significantly better in every way than the $2100 samsung I bought just a few years back. Color come to life without being overly saturated, and contrast is good with SDR content, fantastic with HDR. In my testing I saw inky blacks with gradations in dark areas maintained. Very impressive. sound - This model touts 2 10w Onkyo speakers and DTS Studio Sound. I found it to be decent, certainly better than the tinny “laptop speaker” sound you generally get with LCDs. I tend to not care too much about internal speakers on TVs personally - I would guess most people will connect either a soundbar or a receiver / speakers to this kind of a TV, but if not, the internal speakers are decent. remote - bluetooth instead of RF, some typically used apps have their own buttons in the remote face. Remote also has Alexa integration. Fire TV built in - depending on what ecosystem you belong to (Apple, Google, Amazon, etc.) this may or may not be a selling point. The built in Fire TV functionality worked well and was intuitive in my testing. External sources also worked without issue. wifi and ethernet built in 3 hdmi inputs 1 usb port - can be used to OTA live TV pause functionality by adding a USB drive. ease of use - The longest thing about set up was the automatic firmware update. That took a few minutes, but the TV itself took almost no time. Connect to network and you’re ready to watch just moments later. the bad: nothing in my opinion misc: only 60Hz - The 60Hz refresh rate may be a deterrent to some. In typical daily use, I actually don’t like higher refresh rates, as you can get a sort of “soap opera” effect and content just looks “off” to me. I prefer 60Hz with no motion smoothing personally. not the slimmest or lightest - not heavy by any means, but you need to pay more to get the slimmest of these TVs. bezel isn’t tiny but not overly huge either - some may also prefer a slimmer bezel, but this one isn’t what I’d call thick at all. overall: Very nice TV, especially for the price. Great picture quality, nice integration of Fire TV, and good remote functionality.

I work up one morning to find the half the tv was black and the black light was flickering. This happen April 17 2020 so I contact Best Buy because I bought the geek squad warranty and it is within the two years that I bought. Waiting on the phone for about an hour to be told I called the wrong number and have to call that department. I hang up call the number they gave me and was told that geek squad repair Service is closed until further notice. I asked what was my options and they offered to reimburse my repair. I said we have a stay at home order and all the other businesses are closed. They told me that I have to wait or find someone to fix it. So I wait 3 week and got an email saying that they are back open so I call and told them what happen and they said we are going to send a part it take a week to be delivered and the only appointment available after that is another week. So now 5 weeks latter geek squad come over to tell me that the led panel on my television is burnt out and that I will need a replacement so I call the number and they tell me that the tv I have is no longer available and that they a Technology to technology exchange which I paid $375 And the tv they offered to Exchange it with is $329 I said they have the same tv I looked it up and they said no the tv you see online has a different model number even though the specs are identical we can’t give you that one but you can pay the difference which is $129 also because you are geting a replacement you will have to buy a new warranty and the warranty went up $20 from when I bought the tv. Also the tv they are pricing my tv off of is on a sale! Asked for a supervisor they said one will call waiting several hours had to call back and waiting an hour to be told That it take up to 3 Business days to get a call back. Would not recommend the tv or geek squad warranty

It’s annoying
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a good tv at a good price but now I’m annoyed with it. The issue is the sound or peoples voices doesn’t not go with the video it’s about a 2-3 second delay. It’s frustrating. Looks like i can’t get or find any help on it either

Glitched out
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Big tv. Good resolution when it wants to be. But started glitching and getting pixelated very soon after purchase. Youd have to reset the whole tv to get it to work properly.

Nice short term TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, it was really nice until today. Suddenly it's as though the home button were being held constantly, so that no matter what you do, you're going back to a flashing home screen. Shame.

Piece of CRAP!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV doesn't work properly. We have to keep unplugging it for it to connect to the internet. HORRIBLE!! We haven't even had this TV for a month before we began having issues and of course, we can't return it due to Best Buys stupid return policy. They're the ones who sold us this junk!! Waste of our money!! Not even worth the 1 star I gave it!!

Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love everything about this except for the picture quality it has a dull look to it. I order a hdmi cord to see if it makes any difference. Most times I have to delete Netflix then reinstall it so it could work

Not as easy as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased specifically for Alexa Voice, it only works withe tv apps, not compatible with my Uverse. Apps sign-ins are not saved, I have to keep entering my email and password every time!! Huge inconvenience.

Poor install instructions
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Multiple attempts to resolve setup issues. Best buy tells you something different each time. More than 5 attempts to resolve poor install instructions. Two TVs later... not happy at all. Try a different store.

Picture could be better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the most part it's great, but has a glich that scrambles the picture for a split second every few minutes or so. I've had better TV's for similar price. Probably wouldn't buy this one in the future.

Terrible TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This maybe my first 1 star review. In fact, I would rate the TV - 0 stars. I read many of the reviews before purchasing this tv. I took into account both the positive and negative reviews. My thought process was that their were nearly 1,000 reviews on this tv, with 90% rating a 4 or 5 star. So I took a chance. Bad mistake. I spent over 2 hours trying to get this tv up and running. The tv would not turn on and the software would not load. The tv turned itself off and rebooted many times. I gave up. Boxed the tv up and returned it to the store. This tv should not be on the market. I cannot stress enough, DO NOT BUY.

Decent TV
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just as many other people have complained about the sound issues I have experienced the same problems, on antenna tv the sound will sometimes just shut off when its quiet on the show, on apps such as DIY Go, History, etc. some commercials are so loud that i have to mute the tv, otherwise if i turn it down when the show comes back on i'll just have to turn it back up. very annoying. I was hoping that eventually there would be a sound card update or something to fix but so far nothing.

Might be a good TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m sure this is an awesome TV so I will at least give it 2 stars. Got it home and it worked fine for a couple of days. On the third day, the tv started blacking out and started giving a no signal message. I initially thought I was having issues with cable box but the tv actually did the same thing while watching the built in apps. I ended up taking it back and was going to try the same model but they were out. I actually ended up with a 55” Sharp 4K Roku tv and have been really please with it.
