JUNK! Stay Away!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the TV during a door buster sale. ($350). The picture was decent, nothing special. I noticed some blur during fast movements. The sound without surround is bad. I do not like the interface when the TV first starts. (Home Screen) It will not stay on the last selection you picked when you turn the TV off. You will always have to choose HDMI 1 for cable TV when you turn it on. Kind of annoying. After 4 days the TV went completely dead in the middle of the Army vs Navy game. Returned it and got another, only because of the price and the because of the placement of the this TV's legs (Center Mount) The legs on this TV saved me from money from buying a stand or mount because they allowed me to use my old TV stand that is not very wide. Hooked up the second TV directly out of the box and the sound started making a digital cracking sound within 1 hour of use. Returned it and purchased a 65 Sharp Roku ($499). Amazing TV, I am so happy. These TV's are JUNK!!!! Besides the two I return, I also noticed they had another one of these in the open box area. No telling how many more they had in the back. I wasted a lot of time with this product, don't make the same mistake. I did some research after the two returned TV's, Compal Electronics???? Is the company that makes these TVs. These are not the reliable Japanese made toshiba's that we used to buy in the old days. It is just Rebaged JUNK.

not great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have to admit I'm surprised how laggy it is, not sure if its a slow refresh rate or what, but it has all these weird glitches on screen transitions for tv and on video games. Kinda wish I spent a little extra on something better but I guess you get what you pay for it was reasonably inexpensive. Picture is okay but the lag and glitches detract a lot from it.

Volume majorly lags and fluctuates
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I bought this tv about 2 months ago at our local Best Buy after reading good reviews. The volume is constantly behind when the characters are speaking (starts about 5 minutes after watching and progressively gets worse). Another issue is that if you pause the tv and come back to after about 30 seconds - 1 minutes, the volume will be blasting as loud as it can, then you try and lower the volume and about the time it gets to a decent level, it will go to as quiet of a level as it can, so you have to raise the volume back up again. Unfortunately my husband threw away the receipt and box as soon as we got home so we weren't able to return the tv. I wish there was something we could do; we are both very upset and feel like we wasted $400.

Okay picture, poor sound quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, I really can’t complain about the product itself. Got a soundbar to address the poor sound quality of the tv, and it worked great until last night’s tv update. The update did not include the hdmi output for the soundbar, so now my soundbar (which cost more than twice the price of the tv) no longer works.

Never buying a fire tv ever again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst TV I ever bought. Remote lasted for only a few months and button stopped working. It lags so much. The interface is slow and sluggish. It is so frustrating that every few months it becomes so sluggish that I have to factory reset it and re-install all apps again. never buying a fire tv ever again.

Be aware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It Doesn’t allow but a few apps to download and if you brought extra protection make sure you keep your slip or photo copy it. I need to use my extra protection and when I looked up my order it just says I brought a TV. The extra protection I brought is nowhere on the receipt online why? CROOKS so Buyer Beware

Good at first
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tv and I was so excited because it had FireTv included and looked like a great TV, well I received it and once I set it up I noticed the screen would flicker in certain places, definitely not what I want in a TV. I thought it was my WiFi connection at first but turns out it wasn't, I returned the first tv and received another in less than a week, but upon setting that one up, the exact same thing would happen, even when I switched to cable. I looked up some reviews on amazon and Best Buy and a lot of people have been having the same issue with this TV, it is called screen tearing and I would not be okay paying so much for a TV that was faulty, and not just one, but two. I ended up choosing a different TV, I am getting a Samsung, and hopefully I have a better experience with that one than I had with this one. I am truly disappointed.

It was too good to be true
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first couple of days it worked great! Way better/faster software than the TCL tv I exchanged it for. We watched Prime Video and everything was great once it was set up except maybe a minor blip right after set up which I just figured might have been software updates. Then today I have my mother in law and mother with the rest of my family to watch a movie, but this time using DIRECT TV Now. All of a sudden less than 3 min in the whole TV freezes and the image becomes green static. We figured maybe it was just a poorly made app by DTV since I’ve had issues on my Apple TV with that app because it was in beta. However, I then attempted to find the movie on the HBOgo app—same thing happened. And when the static came, I couldn’t even control it with the remote or press the power button to turn it off and on. I had to reconnect it. I tried plugging it directly into the wall rather than surge protector— still problems. Clearly there’s an issue once you use any app within the firetv software other than prime video. Determined to watch the movie since I had company over, I figured that if it’s a software issue, and I just used my Apple TV which is hooked up to HDMI 2 input it would work. I was right. So it works when I do anything that isn’t a streaming app. It works when I use my input. There’s a little distortion in the picture for a quick second on the input but nothing too bad. I wanted it to work SO bad... but no. I would love to say it’s a fluke but based on some of the other reviews it sucks. Apparently, there’s an issue With the first tv editions and it’s more glitchy than if you bought a regular TV and added a firestick separately. I wish they would do something about this major inconvenience having to keep switching and forcing me to buy a new TV that is $50+ more because you all couldn’t sell me a TV that does what it is supposed to do.

good luck, not
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It did ok until vertical lines started appearing. Of course with a 5 year protection plan, this did not happen until the plan expired. Most all electronics have a timed life span and the protection plan is not always a good idea.

One of its core features is missing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV for the Tv itself, and it looks stunning. What I am not happy about is that the fire TV controller that is featured as one of its main attractions is not included - DESPITE THE FACT THAT IS SHOULD BE-. I don’t usually write reviews. But I also don’t usually buy items that are worth more than 300 dollars and shrug off an incomplete item. But hey 300 dollars for batteries isn’t a bad deal.

Posted .Hello,
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on our Fire TV Edition. The TV does include Fire TV experience built in and it also includes a remote control that is Voice enabled to control the TV and search for shows so we would really like to know what specifically you noticed that is missing from it. Please feel free to contact us at 855-527-2411 to be better able to take care of all of your inquiries.

It didn't even last a month.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this TV on Black Friday, it was great out of the box, we got it up on the wall, no problems. video quality is ok, not the best but for the price paid for it is ok. the fact that every time you turn the TV on and it is in the AMAZON mode it is quite annoying but livable with. However, yesterday watching a football game the screen just went off, I could hear the game but no video whatsoever. not my first time experiencing dead screen with Toshiba, I assumed the first time would be a separated incident, but it is already twice with this brand. first with a Laptop, now with a TV. I guess I will stay away from that brand. I am returning the TV today.

not recommended
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the 43" fire edition. I have had nothing but trouble with it since I bought it in August. This is Dec. and it still doesn't work right consistently. The latest bug is that it won't go from the "smart screen" back to cable. This is not a very smart TV.

Same common issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the same problem that some other one star reviewers have. I l went to the store left the tv on and when I came back it was a black screen but you can still hear sound. I put a flashlight up to the TV and see a a dim image of the channel or app meaning the backlight is out. If you read other one star reviews and forums; this is a common problem. I bought this tv on 5/22. It just broke today 5/12; far outside bestbuy return dates. Buyer beware; buy a better quality TV. Even if Toshiba is willing to replace free of charge its always at the inconvenience of the consumer. Do not take the risk that your tv is one of the duds if you can avoid it

Waste of time for us
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased it, Installed it and magically the unit turns itself on at night. Checked the settings, turned off the screen saver and waited a while (about 10 minutes) and it turns itself on. Took the batteries out of the remote to be sure that I didn't have a bad remote. It came on again. called Toshiba and tried what they said to do, still didn't work. Brought it back to Best Buy and they took it back and gave me another one. The new one does the same thing. Called Toshiba and the same thing. Tried a few things but no help. Toshiba said they would come by and pick it up or I could bring it back to Best Buy. Maybe my store has a bad batch, but, I'm done with this.

For cable or over the air input choose another TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is no easy way to select or move from one channel to another. It has little concept of channel numbering and prefers to use station identifiers. Even with that it takes several clicks on the remote to move from one channel to the next and there is no way to follow channel numbering (no channel up or down) and no way to enter a number except by voice and that is annoying and slow. It remembers most recently selected channels and rearranges next channel selections which can be mildly useful but still fails to denote channel numbers during selection and there is little in the way of consistency. I would not recommend this if using cable or even over the air inputs.
