Fire TV is the worst.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The picture quality is decent for the cheap price. The picture mode options are lacking. A Fire TV is not the same as a Fire Stick. If you pause a Fire TV it will power off within 10-15 minutes. This is not the same as the sleep timer. It doesn’t matter if you're streaming an app, watching live TV or a DVD, if you press pause, you have less than 15 minutes to press play or the TV shuts down and doesn’t remember the last app you were using on the TV and definitely can’t remember the last place you paused it at. There is an option to change what opens when pressing the power button but it doesn’t work. This TV can’t remember where you were when you pressed pause no matter how you change the settings. After talking to tech support, he finally realized that I was not talking about the sleep timer and that this was a software update on Fire TV. I searched for a work around but there is not one. Everyone who has a Fire TV has this same issue that can not be resolved. It might not bother everyone but I pause the TV when I have to take a call for 15 minutes to an hour and would like to press play when I get off the phone. It also makes it impossible to watch recorded sports. If you press pause and try to get back to the same spot in the game, it will take you to live TV, ruining the whole experience of trying to watch a football game without commercials.
