This hard drive is hands down great for the price. I got it on sale, but even if it wasn't it would still be worth it. Toshiba is a great brand that offers great quality HDs at a lower price. Get them while they are still affordable!

Excellent addition. It gives me instant access to my own cloud which I control. I plug it in and back up my computer then unplug it to safeguard my personal info and items. Even ransom ware can't reach it.

I use it for backups to my Macbook Pro. Works good.

This drive was added to my machine so that I could backup all of my wife's photographs. With the recent addition of an SSD for her OS, we needed a place that she could copy all of her images to for safe offline storage.

I have never used toshiba external hard drives, but from my experience with other brands, you should always go for the one with the longest warranty period. They will all eventually fail--it is just a matter of time, but 3-year warranty will at least give you more time to look for the replacement. Maybe solid state drives will last longer, but they still are way too expensive.

Even using USB 3 it takes a long time to backup 3 TB of photos. But it is so much faster than USB 2. Overall it's a nice unit that does the job intended.

Overall an awsome product. The price is good and ´till now it´s working fine.

I bought a MYBOOK 2TB external device in 2011. I was thrilled with it's ease. Now I have the Toshiba 3TB and it was no different. I am thrilled with it! I would gladly buy another when the time comes.

Plug it in. The PC recognizes it. And then I backed up tons and tons of photos along with everything else on my two hard drives. Lots of room left over.

Works well for what I am using it for - storage of data mostly.

This external hard drive definitely gives you more bang for the buck i.e. 3 TB for the price of other company's 1 TB. Toshiba makes a quality product and it was definitely worth the money :)

Judging from all the issues, Mac Mini's are tough on USB3 devices. This drive runs fine for a few days, then disconnects. There are a *lot* of drives with this issue. It may be an Apple driver issue or it may be the drive. Either way - not a good thing for a server drive.

I have bought two of these Tobisha 3TB. Its great for the home office and perfect for bringing family photos, movies, and files on long trips overseas or when your visiting family.

Easy to use and small enough to hide behind computer screen. No problems after a few weeks use. Same manufacturer as my MAC's HD
