I own one like this from the Iomega brand but since the which I bought it like 4 years ago but the hassle of plug out to the computer then to the wall plug in order to get power it’s making this Toshiba my preferred new toy!!!!!

I would definitely encourage you to at least check this external hard drive out... compare it to others and you'll see it's a great buy for the space and quality that you get. This highly recommended. The 3.0 USB is SO fast!

Easy to use External hard drive. I use it for backing up my computer and photos. Plug and play makes it very easy, but there is easy to use software included if you need it.

We now have three of these handy little HDs! They are convenient and so nice because they only need the power supply from the USB cord. It's 1TB, so plenty of room for backing up my videos, music, pictures, etc. off my laptop.

I use this as a backup for some files and photos, does the job and haven't had any problems with it in the short time I've been using it. A family member bought the same one over 6 months ago and has worked fine so far.

My WinXP desktop tower quit due to a power supply failure and I needed a storage device in a hurry. This item was a great choice, right off the shelf! I'm going to make good use of it for backup purposes. Great price, too!

I edit videos on my Macbook Pro using Adobe's Premier Pro CC. I prefer to edit straight from a drive instead of my hard drive. This portable USB 3.0 Drive performs very well and I am able to edit without skipping a beat.

I like the feel of the hard drive, works fine so far .I really think it is faster then my old portable hard drive. It would have been nice if a case was included with this drive like other drive companies do. overall I am satisfied with this product. Thanks.

My first external hard drive. Setup was easy for both Mac and Windows. It transfers pic and music fast. Printed pic off of hard drive and transfer was really fast.

If you are looking for a USB 3.0 backup, check this out. Personally, I don't notice too much difference between the different brands, but I do find that Toshiba just works once its plugged in. I have a couple of these, for my Xbox One (great because it doesn't require a separate power supply) and as a backup for my laptop.

I had a Passport external hard drive before and used it with a Mac. Not a fan of either Mac or the Passport. Very happ with this one though, easy to use. Always had trouble with the Passport. I would recommend.

Super easy to use tons of storage in small package

For being 1TB it is more compact than my old 320GB portable hard drive. We bought the Toshiba brand to go with our Toshiba Satellite Laptop so there wouldn't be any compatibility issues - not that we expected any.

Easy install, but no one ever wants to offer help, it's almost like the staff is hiding from you. I walked around for minutes trying to make eye contact with staff. Clearly they are not commission based employees.

This drive met my need exactly - lots of space, easy hook up with no programing and most importantly the wire seems snug and hardy. Ive had others that were loose and didnt last long so that's always a fear.
