It's a great portable external hard drive. I use it mostly for my photos since I shoot in RAW files. 1 TB is good for me for now - I still have a lot of space left. I will consider buying another one as a second backup, though.

Less than 3 months into owning it the connector cable became loose. It hums and the blue light comes on (so you know its getting power) but my computer won't recognize it and the cable falls out easily on its own.

If either the cable or the port on the drive are defective, you can initiate the warranty replacement process at acclaim.toshiba.com anytime during the 2-year warranty period.
If you prefer to not replace the drive and only the cable is defective, you have the option of just using a different cable.
