Monster space...Super fast writing & reading
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this drive! I use it frequently for music and documents!! The USB port is very sturdy which is why I upgraded. Beautiful shape, but it attracts finger prints.

Very confusing to use

Posted .Thank you for the review, Wnel.
To method to check the contents of the drive will depend on the method used to putting data there. For files copied by Windows File Explorer or saved there by common applications you can simply browse through folders using Windows File Explorer. If you used backup software to save files into the drive, they are most likely compressed in a proprietary format that would require use of the same backup software to identify the files.
If you're having trouble following specific instructions in the manual please let us know what page of the manual you're referring to and where you're stuck.
Thanks again for the feedback and sorry for the trouble.

Unhappy with backup interface
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Toshiba portable hard drive previously that worked seamlessly. Unfortunately this newer model is confusing to setup. Poor instructions. Would not recommend.

Can not get wireless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer can only be used in my house in one room--directly over the router. In all other areas it does not stay connected to the wireless service.I have brought to Geek Squad 6 times since purchase. They finally replaced the hard drive and something else....it still loses internet every 5 minutes or so, and I have to sit in one chair, in the kitchen, to use it. I will NEVER purchase another computer from Best Buy again.

Since this seems to be a review for a different product, some sort of computer, please consider copying then deleting your review and posting it on the bestbuy.com page for the computer product itself.

DID NOT WORK
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried to use it on my Windows 8.1 system to do an image copy before migrating to Windows 10. System would not recognize the device. Took it back. Got WD My Passport Ultra -- worked fine. Cost more, but worked!

Posted .Thank you for the review, Myavenger1987.
Since you seem to love the drive, which we've very happy to hear, please consider updating the star rating of your review. One star is the lowest rating possible and is understood to mean that you had a very poor experience with the drive. Five stars is the best rating.
Given that info, please update your star rating to reflect your level of satisfaction with the drive.
Thanks again for the feedback and for choosing Toshiba.

Not built to last
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this about 3 weeks and it stopped working. Lost every file on it. It was in a protective carry case when not in use. Gives an error saying it needs reformating. Complete waste of money. Very disappointed.

Posted .Thank you for the review, NanaBanana, and sorry to hear that the format of your Canvio Connect II hard drive seems to have become corrupted.
One way that could happen is if the drive is disconnected from its host while writing or before the host clears any write cache back to the disk. Since you're getting specific direction to reformat in the error message, that would be my recommendation.
Sorry to hear about the lost files. For future reference, since there is no storage medium that is immune to potential failure, it's recommended to always maintain multiple copies of all important files on separate storage devices -- which is essentially the definition of a "back up". This practice eliminates the risk of data loss due to a single point of failure.
Thanks again for the feedback and sorry for the trouble.

piece of junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't buy for a MAC time machine backup. Somehow, according to Best Buy minimum number of characters in the review, I need to make my review shorter - I'm not sure why Toshiba would want it longer --

Posted .Thank you for the review, runner6, but please consider describing what type of symptom you experienced or what problem you had when trying to use your Canvio Connect II drive with your Mac and please also let us know the model of Mac (iMac, Macbook, Macbook Pro) and the year, if you know it.
Although this hard drive is formatted to NTFS, it is still compatible with Mac OS. It ships in the NTFS format so if you want to use it as a Time Machine drive then you'll need to reformat it to 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)' using the Mac OS 'Disk Utility'. Please keep in mind that formatting the drive will delete all folders and files currently on the drive. See more details at http://www.macworld.com/article/1132140/timemachine2.html under the subheading of "Fix unrecognized disks."
Thanks again for the feedback and for choosing Toshiba.

Posted .Thank you for the review, JonnySpectacular, and sorry to hear that you had ran into a problem with your Canvio Connect II drive.
For future reference, Microsoft has troubleshooting tips at http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/games/console-doesnt-detect-external-storage for use of external USB storage with the Xbox One.
That said, please consider sharing a few more details about which model of Xbox (Xbox 360?, Xbox One?) and what type of laptops you have (which versions of Windows, Mac OS, or other) so we can make an informed analysis of what may have been the problem. Also let us know whether or not the devices seemed to "see" the drive at all.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the trouble.
