Don't buy if you have a MAC

This says it is Mac and PC compatible, while that may be true, I had could not get it to configure properly for my Mac. I called Toshiba customer service - first rep I spoke to was completely rude and unhelpful. The second rep I spoke to later, was trying to be helpful but still could not seem to walk me through the steps. I may not be a computer genius, I do know how to follow instructions. These instructions were so confusing and was taking forever. Finally I just said never mind as I will be returning today.

Thank you for the review, Kristen, and sorry to hear that you had difficulty getting your Canvio Connect drive to work with your Mac, and also sorry that you had a sub-par customer service experience.

Although this hard drive is formatted at the factory as an NTFS drive, it is absolutely compatible with Mac OS. You have the option of either installing the included NTFS driver onto your Mac (if you want to use it on both Macs and Windows PCs) or simply using the OS X 'Disk Utility' app to reformat the drive to Mac OS Extended. Reformatting will remove any data currently on the drive, of course.

Please see the Apple knowledge base article at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201909 for details on formatting external drives with Mac OS.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the trouble. Toshiba

WILL NOT WORK FOR XBOX ONE AS A EXTERNAL

If your plan is to purchase this as a External Hard Drive for the XBOX ONE, THEN DON'T. This will work for media storage but not game storage.

Thank you for the review, DROPKICK33 and sorry that you haven't been able to save games on your Canvio Connect II drive.

Microsoft's only published requirements for storing games and apps is that the external drive 1) uses USB 3.0 and 2) has a capacity of 256 GB or more. Since the Canvio Connect II meets both of the criteria, this drive should be capable of storing both games and media.

Once you connect the drive, using the included USB 3.0 cable, Xbox One will prompt you to format the drive and walk you through setting it up to store games and apps. Please see http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/system/manage-storage?icid=furl_xboxone-storage for details on how to set up your external media as storage for games and apps. You may also want to review http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/system/console-doesnt-detect-external-storage for troubleshooting help, if needed.

Thanks again for the feedback and sorry for the trouble. Toshiba
