    I use these on Macs. I don't use the built in backup software, just reformat in disc utility for mac and use for Time Machine backup or what have you. It transfers data fast if you have a USB 3.0 compatible computer. Seems more reliable than some of the other brands that have failed on my multiple times (WD, LaCie). Never had a Toshiba external drive crash on me.
