Great choice for xbox one

It moves games to the hard drive extremely fast. The only downside is if you download to the hard drive while playing games off of it., it will sometimes slow it down.

It holds over 200 .mkv movies and the transfer rate was super fast too. Convenient in size, I haven't had any issues other than the shiny side of the drive scratches easily. This is cosmetic, but for some reason it bothers me. Overall, great purchase. Would buy another one!

I accidentally deleted a year's worth of photos from my laptop, but luckily I previously backed them up on this external hard drive. No problems recovering them. I use it with my Mac.

But I figured out how I wanted my files named and where I wanted them in the hard drive. Now I save everything to it and will soon delete files from my laptop to (hopefully) speed it up. Be aware! The first one I got said it was NOT compatible with Windows 10 so I returned it and go the same item that said it was compatible with Windows 10. The sku #s were the same.

Did first backup then tried to check external drive to see for sure which files had been copied. Could not access through windows explorer or any other way. Tried help online but Toshiba doesn't even list the model number on their own website much less offer any support documentation at all. Software company NTI Backup Now EZ 4 has only minimal "help" info with product and their online video doesn't even have any sound. DO NOT BUY THIS> Buy something else with better software and better support..

This model actually does have a support page. If you visit support.toshiba.com and enter its model number (HDTC820XK3C1) into the input field labeled 'Enter model or serial number' then a link will appear just below that input bar which reads "Portable USB Hard Drives Canvio Connect II HDTC820XK3C1" (see screenshot at http://prntscr.com/8ca73l .) Clicking that link will take you to http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200009807 -- the drive's product support page.
Files that are simply copied to the drive using Windows Explorer or any other method can be viewed and re-copied using Windows Explorer or whatever method is supported by the software used. Files backed up using the NTI software would be visible and can be restored from the backup using that same software. Please see the NTI Backup software's manual at support.toshiba.com/support/staticContentDetail?contentId=4005258 for more details.
