Whereas the original film was just kind of there, and didn't particularly make sense, it was a fun so so film. This remake actually makes sense, and after all these years I finally can understand what its about- more depth, more character development along with an overall better film; better action, better settings... now its a very good film

obviously visuals are better in this film than the original but i still like the original more. this movie was ok in its own right. on blu ray it does look really good

This is an enjoyable remake but it does not have the grit that the original had. It does make up for some of that lacking in the better special effects.

I'm not usually a big fan of remakes, but this one did a decent job. The only technical issue is the sound cuts out briefly mid-film on both discs.

The movie itself is a fun summer action flick. Not the best or worst that I've seen, but for the price you can't go wrong.

I actually prefer this movie over the original. Great action, good effects and a good cast. Definitely worth a watch.

I'm a big fan of the original version with Arnie, but I thought this one was equally as good. Kate Beckensale is great as the agent in pursuit. Almost Terminator-like. Surround sound on this blu ray is outstanding and almost worth the price alone.

If you TRY not to think of this as a remake, then you'll probably enjoy it. I tried to separate it as much as possible from the Arnold classic. The original is such a great piece of sci-fi entertainment, that there was no way this was ever gonna match up. Try to keep that it mind and it's not too bad of a movie, if you are into Sci-fi, of course.

This re-make of the original is well done. I like this new version better than the original.

I really enjoyed watching this remake. I mostly purchased this version for the digital copy.

I bought this a while back when Best Buy had it for sale. This really surprised me, I wasn't expecting much but WOW! Kate Beckinsale reminded me of a Terminator! Get past that it's a remake, it's an amazing sci-fi movie! :)

While the original Total Recall was campy sci-fi set on Mars with Arnold, this remake takes a more serious bent with heavy amounts of admittedly wonky science fiction and PG-13 carnage. The film looks great and the production design looks great, but it probably won't stand out to fans of the original film.

It doesn't match the original, but for a remake it was entertaining!

I gave this review 1 star only for the fact that the Dolby True-HD soundtrack is totally whacked! The movie itself is fine (for what I've been able to see it could be a reference disc for video & audio if it didn't have this issue) but this blu-ray is unwatchable due to the bad audio coding. I've been through 2 copies and both are messed up and unplayable on any of my 3 blu-ray players (all with current firmware updates, etc.). There's at least 4 times where the audio drops out and then the video freezes. So far Sony has not said what they plan to do (if anything) to fix the issue and offer customers a swap out for the flawed disc's. The only fix I've read about for Oppo owners (I have a BDP-83) is to switch the HDMI setting from Bitstream to PCM but we shouldn't have to do that in order to watch this film! Sony needs to fix the issue, repress the disc's and offer a swap to those of us that bought it. I'm about to take copy #2 back to Best Buy and see if they will now refund my money now that it's well known that all these disc's are bad!

Good movie but could have done without referencing the original.

very entertaining scifi remake of the classic Arnold movie.

Yes, I did not watch the original film when it came out, so I did not appreciate the graphics for that time, but I think even the story-line is better in this remake.

Great movie with great visuals, try not to compare to Arnie's version and watch for what it is. Apart from the story it reminded me of Blade runner more than anything.

Good remake of an already awesome movie. Special effects were spot on with the futuristic theme of the movie...ending was more puzzling than the original.
