Not useful, short battery life, rarely works

These things are really not useful. I bought four of them for Christmas presents. By mid February all four had dead batteries! Four to six week battery life is unacceptable. The closest it can get to the location of your device is a FOUR BLOCK RADIUS? That is really no help at all when you are trying to find your lost keys. The sound it makes to help you pinpoint it is too high frequency and too low volume to hear if you are over age 30 or the device is say stuck between two couch cushions.

    Great device.

This is a great little device and quite helpful, so long as you understand how it is intended to be used. The device in combination with your cell phone allows you to track the last known location of the device. Once the device is outside of Bluetooth range all you will have is the GPS location that the phone last encountered the device (or that another TrackR users phone encountered it if your in an area with lots of users). This works great for keeping track of keys, wallets, hand bags, i.e. things that usually travel around with you and may get left behind somewhere. If you are close enough to detect the device with Bluetooth you can have the device "whistle" to assist in locating it. I particularly like the size, weight, fit and finish of the TrackR. I barely notice it on my keychain. In practical use I have found that the ability to click the button on the device and have your phone ring is nice. My overall experience with the TrackR has been great and I think that it will improve as the technology evolves. I have read criticism of the TrackR based on the Bluetooth range, not ringing turned off phones and the like. As with all technology there are logical limitations to any devices functionality. Your phone must be on with Bluetooth running for the device to work. The TrackR also has a button cell battery that is user replaceable which is a huge advantage over some other solutions. I highly recommend the TrackR, but please first understand the technologies involved and their limitations.

    Really great idea

Really great idea. The device is small and fits into a wallet perfectly without taking too much space. The TrackR app is intuitive enough. Range is a bit limited but that's a limitation of the Bluetooth technology I'd say.. Having the alarm on separation doesn't work actually because the phone starts ringing at random times even if the device is nearby. The "search party" is quite limited in Bulgaria. Still, I really like the idea of CrowdGPS so I don't regret buying the Bravo.

I have 2, one for keys, one for wallet. I'm finding that they worked better on android than they do on ios, and you have to remember to open the app occasionally to ensure that its running in the background, else if you try and track out of the blue it has not been running and the devices are not being tracked. Lastly I'm finding the range could be better. All that said, still a handy device which has helped me locate my keys and wallet more than once.

    Proven Benefits

I've had these for three weeks now and already had to use them four times. I accidentally left my cell phone at the restaurant table and when I got to the door of the place my wallet started to ring (where I also have a Bravo) if this didn't happen, I would have left my phone and probably lost it for good. Then my partner lost his phone and we used the Bravo to ring the phone and find it. Amazing g and I'm going to buy more.

I love the idea behind this useful too because I misplace my phone, keys, and tiny speaker remote often. I wish it came with an owner's manual that told me I needed to have the app running in the background of my phone at all times in order for the alerts to sound. I found this out later through online support. Also, I wish the battery lasted a lot longer. Mine does after 2-3 months.

I have had a TrackR for about a year and unless I install a brand new battery, and have it sitting on my desk, I cannot connect to it. Put it in my wife's car hanging on the rv mirror. Other than initially finding it when the car was parked in the driveway, it NEVER found it again. Ordered 4 new batteries, not a single one lasted more than 2 weeks. IT WAS ON MY DESK, 2 feet from the receiver. I used my laptop, I paired with that so that I could make sure that the unit would not run down the batteries in a vain attempt to connect to some remote device. SAVE YOUR MONEY! PS, I DID NOT BUY this from Best Buy, so no blaming them. I do buy a number of things from them and rarely, if ever, have an issue with them!!

A great gift for just about anyone

A great device for someone like me who misplaces things all the time. I bought a large stack of these when they went on sale (ended up being about 12 dollars each) as Christmas presents for all my friends. They work great if you have your phone but can't find your keys, or if you have your keys and can't find your phone. Few things to note. You have to keep bluetooth enabled on your smart phone for this to work. You'll need your GPS turned on if you want to to use the TrackR outside of your bluetooth range (keeps track of last known location). While this should have minor affect on your phone's battery, it may be an issue for some people with older phones. The TrackR's own battery seems to last about 4 months. They're super easy to replace, and are pretty cheap.

    does a good job

Trackr devices do quite a good job in finding your stuff (wallet, key, camera, travel bag, etc.). I have tried various similar products and Trackr is the best of the lot, because 1) it's the smallest, flattest device - you can actually put it into your wallet, even a minimalist one, and 2) it's the most robust one, made of metal and not falling apart like similar products made entirely of cheap plastic. Currently my only concern is that the batteries don't last as long as i'd like, you have to replace batteries every 2 or 3 months.

This is a good product and works but the battery dies very quickly. I purchased a multi pack and only owned the devices for 3 months. However everyone single one that I use (4 in total) needs a new battery already. If you want something that is small and thin, but needs frequent battery replacement, then this is the product for you. However if you want something that lasts a little longer, then you might have to sacrifice on size.

I have been using the TrackR Bravo for two months now. I have one on my own key and one on my sons key. This way I can tell when my son arrives home. The only downside is that you cannot track one trackr bravo on multiple phones. The comunity GPS works great although te coverage in the Netherlands is not overwhelming. I've had one problem with the TrackR regarding the battery life but their support handled it very well.

I have been a TrackR user for a couple of weeks now. I really like the form factor, seems solid, I like the aluminum form factor (compare to cheaper plastic with some of the competitors) and the fact that it has a replaceable battery. The app is pretty easy to use and quick to setup - sign up, add your first device, describe what item you're tracking, click the little button on the TrackR and you're good to go. When you buy, check what features you're looking for. A few items I want to see in my "wish list" which other similar devices have are the ability to share an item with another TrackR account (for example share my house keys or spare car keys with a family member). I also wish the range could be a bit improved, and the speaker level on the TrackR Bravo (when searching for it) should be louder. I am REALLY excited about the upcoming TrackR Atlas, which is one of the main reasons why I decided to switch over to TrackR, which will allow me to find the exact location of my items using BLE, and it will even be integrated with Amazon Echo so you could ask: "Alexa, where are my car keys?" And it will let you know your keys are in the bedroom.... Neat, no? Can't wait...

I have my TrackR bravo since 1 week so I can't say about the battery. I can say that the volume is a bit too low but acceptable. The product is nice, the app looks great (I don't know if the battery indicator is reliable ...). So a product which does what it's meant for but no more. Hope the buzzer will be louder in next version.

I've used this device to track the location of my keys. I usually keep them in my bag, but there has been countless times where I have misplaced them. Having this device on my keyring allows me to track where they are easily if I forget where I placed them. It's small, compact and gets the job done.
