The first one I purchased, the base was glued into the box and could not be turned on. Returned. I thought it had to be a fluke, so I ordered a second one. That one would constantly disconnect even though the thermometer, base and my phone/app were within only 10 feet. I also hate that this item uses alkaline batteries. At this price point, I'd expect USB rechargeable. Returning. And buying a different brand BBQ thermometer.

This tool is a game changer, and it's wireless. Also, it's handy for use for cooking meat in the oven.

Poor BT/WIFI range

Sadly, the bluetooth connection between the phone/block/probe continuously drops. The "Meater Link" option for WIFI extends to 33ft, per the app. That's just not sufficient range. I had higher hopes but I'm going to return the product. On the positive, the app is intuitive and nice user experience.

My first one was the 35 foot range one and now ive upgraded to the 165ft range one. They are amazing. If youre on the fence, just give it a try!

I tried a lot of different thermometers, And this one so far is the best yet. And the best part is there are no wires to mess with.

It looks and acts the same until about 15 minutes into smoking then it won't connect to app any more. I have to put it back in base to reconnect but it keeps happening. Ive called customer service being that it's still under warranty and they determined that it requires an "escalation of my issue". It's been over a month, and no contact yet.
