Entertaining
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love all the transformers movies, just because they're entertaining. I know they're not critically acclaimed for the acting or the heart-wrenching story like say a Terms of Endearment, but they're not supposed to be. They're action, they're visually spectacular, and very fun! It's escapism at it's best. Watching these movies with a nice surround system is a must. The explosions, the sounds of the transforming, all of it is a much better experience with surround and a good subwoofer! I can do without 2 things in the movies...the eye candy that is the chicks in short shorts! To me, it just doesn't add to the movie. I guess because I'm not a adolescent teenage boy. Secondly, is the language. it seems like all sequels, things are pushed further each time another one is made. There was more profanity in this one than the others. It too doesn't add to the movie. My 4 year old son loves Transformers, too and I don't want him picking up the language. I know one day he will be exposed to it, but c'mon! These movies are enjoyed by all age groups, Michael Bay, please tone down those 2 things and all will be well. Mark Wahlberg did a good job in the movie... I like his movies anyway. I didn't miss Shia LaBeouf or any of the other actors from the previous ones. Also, this one had more work done on the video side. The greens were way greener. My wife noticed that almost everyone had colored eyes, and over exaggerated at that. I didn't mind all that, but it did seem a little weird. I loved the robots! All of them were too cool...Lockdown is a bad dude! His walk, his whole demeanor...I found myself liking him. Those Dinobots were massive! I can't wait to watch it again...and for the next one, which is probably already in the works.

Cool Art Cover & A Fun Movie To Watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know many do not like the way Michael Bay has directed nor have liked the writers storylines for most of this series, but for those who have found the entertainment in metal-against-metal giant bashing's, explosive scenes, and over-the-top destructive city battles ...then this 4th installment of Transformers is a fun choice & a more family-friendly version in comparison to it's previous highly sexualized dramedies (though some is still evident in AGE OF EXTINCTION). This Best Buy Exclusive has a cool art cover & would make a nice addition to your existing Transformers movie collection. ...but be foreWARNED: if you're picky about the condition in which you receive your copy of this edition, then personally pick it up in-store. The metal casing can get dinged through the mailing process and handling, as did mine (no punctures, but enough to notice and feel a bit disappointed if you're looking to obtain a pristine condition edition). It is unfortunate that Best Buy does not mail it to you in a more protective mailing pack. Mine came in nothing more than a poly mailing bag (that's right, no buffer ...no bubble-wrap lining to protect the item).

Looks good. That's all.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm certainly not bashing Age of Extinction, but it is hard to ignore its obvious downfalls. I have been a fan of the three previous movies for three reasons: 1) they are visually impressive, 2) they are fast-paced, and 3) they are often humorous. Age of Extinction does a fine job in each of these categories. That being said, it struggles in literally every other category. I must admit that I was pleased to hear Mark Wahlberg would replace Shia Labeouf. Don't get me wrong, I thought Labeouf did an excellent job in the first three movies, but I was ready for a change. Though Wahlberg is a fantastic performer, his character can only be as good as his script. Unfortunately, the character scripts are not one of the strong points of Age of Extinction. Cheesy dialog is persistent throughout the movie. The quality of the script and story often go hand-in-hand. Which is certainly the case in this film. Okay, so none of the Transformers movies have impressive story lines, but Age of Extinction is noticeably worse than its predecessors. It seems like they have run out of ideas. No matter how many Decepticons the Autobots kill, they always regenerate in significant numbers. It will be interesting to see how Michael Bay approaches the next two films. For Michael Bay, a smoking hot actress is a necessity in every Transformers movie. In this case it is Nicola Peltz. Though attractive, she is depicted as a 17-year-old girl. I realize that she isn't actually 17, but I still found it a little weird. Apart from that factor, her acting is okay. I personally thought her performance in Bates Motel was much better. But again, this is partially due to the poor writing. As I mentioned, the flaws are obvious and shouldn't be surprising if you've seen the previous three movies. The quality of the CGI should not surprise you either. I have always been amazed by the complexity of the Transformers, and Age of Extinction certainly displays this in all of its magnificence. Some may disagree, but I find the CGI in Transformers more impressive than that of Avatar. Every single action scene is filled with great cinematography, impressive explosions, awing destruction, and extreme complexity. You will certainly be impressed. If you are looking for a visually spectacular action-packed movie, Age of Extinction is one to seriously consider. Just keep in mind that it is not likely to exceed your expectations in all areas.

Saw this in theaters, Steelbook collector here!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this movie in theaters with a friend and the movie was amazing, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen used to be my favorite but now I am glad I saw Age of Extinction, it is my new favorite of the series coming in hot with a TON of ACTION and fan favorite dinobots. I love Steelbooks, I only have like 2 other steelbooks for 2 other movies but I'd like to become a HUGE Steelbook collector because the artwork and cases are amazing, better than the traditional blu-ray/dvd package. The only feature I dislike about the Steelbook is that it does not have the IMAX edition of the movie, and would have loved watching that on my 55" VIZIO HDTV.

Actually liked this one...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4 actions movies by the same Director, Michael Bay. Loved the first one, despised the 2nd, and the 3rd was ok. This had my family remembering the fun of the 1st movie. New characters and while the action is full force as always, it wasn't as overloaded as expected. While Michael Bay will never be known as a storyline director....he is top notch when it comes to mindless action films. This was one of his better outings (and I realize that isn't saying much). My critics are how my family reacts to a film....and they all enjoyed this one.

Worth owning for the PQ/AQ
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the film itself leaves a lot to be desired - in terms of story, writing, and directing - Transformers: Age of Extinction is a fantastic Blu-ray disc. The picture and the audio are beautiful. Transformers: Age of Extinction isn't the greatest film, but it is a pretty fun one. This film is worth owning on Blu-ray for the picture quality and the audio quality -- Paramount has outdone themselves with such giving this film such a fantastic presentation on Blu-ray.

Fun over the top action
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're watching this, then odds are you have seen previous entries in the series and know what you're in for. For newcomers, this is a great starting point since it includes a new cast of characters to follow. I have seen the three previous movies and definitely enjoy the new cast more. The plot is still downright silly but you go in for the special effects and fight scenes. Both of those are entertaining. There is also a good amount of comedy with the addiction of certain actor later on.

Great movie experience.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie was good, but the surround sound experience was fantastic. This is one of the first blu ray discs to be mastered with dolby atmos sound. Even though I do not have dolby atmos yet, the sound was stellar on my 7.1 system. So much going on in all the speakers. It is a spectacular surroung experience for sure. And I really did enjoy the movie! Pick this up at Best Buy, get some popcorn and enjoy the experience. Just make sure you have a great sound system to truly appreciate the show.

What Mark Wahlberg in Transformers 4!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On the journey of the Transformers Saga's after watching it in theaters and all the Transformers from the Optimus Prime team character's had grown up, as well had seen new characters developed. Mark Wahlberg didn't disappoint at all in the storyline, but it just goes to show as a over concerned father who cares for her daughter; nice family film :) Many explosions, action, and Dino bots :)

Watch the movie for yourself and judge.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie got mixed reviews. It seems like you either enjoyed it or hated it. This is a summer blockbuster movie, not an academy award winning drama. Alien robots from another planet fighting on earth. Marc Walberg is a great replacement for Mr. S. Beof. The 3D is very well done as well as the blu-ray quality and of course the audio is really good as well. Speakers will rumble.

Pretty good sequal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This installment of the Transformers series doesn't disappoint for sure, and I'm not sure what they can do to really build on the awesomeness at this point. Special effects are very nice, and it has a fresh new cast. Introduction of the Dino Bots was for sure a welcome treat (giving that I grew up with the first transformers) Overall a good movie, and very open ended

Slight improvement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Slight improvement over the last flick, but that's not saying much. Still, the bluray itself is impressive, reference quality and worth checking out to gauge your system. Impressive visuals cannot help the stilted storytelling and sterile screenwriting, though it's hard to fault the writers: who knows how much was altered as it went into production.

Epic and Entertaining Blockbuster movie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie somewhat reboots the series. After the original movie, the sequels have been up and down. This is one of the better ones with Mark Walhberg leading the cast. It doesn't have the epic "holes" of some of the past movies and brings new elements to the story. I would recommend the movie to anyone who likde the original movie.

Superb Action
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love all the transformers movies and do not care much about scripts. I love the action sequences and their transformation. This one has blasting action towards end and shook my house like anything. Absolutely loved it. As far as script goes, it does not stands up to the previous ones. If you love action and not story line, its a definite movie to own.

Pleasantly Surprised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I told myself to never watch another Transformers after what Michael Bay did in the first three movies but I found myself back in the theaters cause my fandom once again shut out my logic. Fortunately for me, I was absolutely surprised. Mark Wahlberg saved this movie/franchise! My only gripe was that the movie was a little lengthy.

Excellent Steelbook!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another great Best Buy exclusive! Best Buy's blu-ray exclusives have been awesome lately and this is no exception. The steelboook packaging is intense and in your face just like the movie. I thought this was probably the best Transformers movie since the original. The picture and sound quality is home theater demo quality.
