    Great Autobot film

Now that bumblebee is out... one can see the relation it has with transformers films. Story: For centuries, two races of robotic aliens–the Autobots and the Decepticons–have waged a war, with the fate of the universe at stake. When the battle comes to Earth, all that stands between the evil Decepticons and ultimate power is a clue held by young Sam Witwicky. An average teenager, Sam is consumed with everyday worries about school, friends, cars and girls. Unaware that he alone is mankind’s last chance for survival, Sam and his friend Mikaela find themselves in a tug of war between the Autobots and Decepticons. With the world hanging in the balance, Sam comes to realize the true meaning behind the Witwicky family motto–"No sacrifice, no victory!" Picture: Transformers' upscaled-to-4K 2160p UHD presentation is a good one, thoroughly enjoyable and capable of delivering enough visual intensity and added stability to please. The image is impressively filmic, maintaining an even, complimentary grain structure throughout. Audio Quality: It now serves Dolby Atmos soundtrack, and it makes for as much a revelation as the 2160p/HDR picture. Even as the previous 5.1 track was killer for its time, the improvements -- not necessarily in raw clarity but certainly in spatial awareness and increased total stage saturation -- make this a quality step forward in the sound department.

Transformers 4K - More Than Meets the Eye

I've been a fan of the Transformer movies and have enjoyed them, but like many have seen a sharp decline in the overall quality of the films as they progressed. It's become more about the eye-candy experience than the story and/or characters, becoming for the most part, a forgettable popcorn summer-fest movie you quickly forget about after the lights come up. For me the 1st is still the best. I had this on Blu-ray (the 2-disc collector edition). The Blu-ray has always been a demo-worthy disc for showing off your system, but the 4K version is a real step up and I feel worth the price of admission. According to what I've read, this has been up-sourced from a 2K master, but even so, having seen the Blu-ray version multiple times, I'm enjoying it as though seeing for the first time. There's a nice uptick in detail level and sharpness. I'm noticing details (like the alien inscribed text on the metal disc of Optimus Prime's face as he transforms) that weren't clear before. The complexity of the changes on each of the characters and depth in-between materials can really be appreciated in 4K, over what was already an exceptional Blu-ray. Skin tones and faces show great definition, and you can see the difference throughout the film in the overall environmental details. This is a very kinetic, face-moving firm, with camera angles almost changing at a blitzkrieg pace, which on most films tend to loose the details or becomes hard for your eyes to track. Not the case here, as it's all there for you to take in. Fabrics show woven stitching, bits of debris fill the air in the desert attack or as Megatron and Optimus crash through buildings. There's a level of film grain and sun flare effect inherent in the photographic shooting style of this film, which transfers nicely on this format, but is never overpowering. The 4K version is the way to go with this film, offering superior video over the Blu-ray and sound that's all over the room In this case, spend the money to re-invest in this title and be prepared to see more than meets the eye!

Very good high def movie with great high def sound

I watched this movie on DVD first since it originally came out in high def to play on HD players. I for one take into account the movie, video, and audio and watching it in HD is like it was a new movie. Transformers the movie was very good overall but deviates a little from the original transformer cartoons I remember as a kid. For instance bubble bee was a Volkswagen Beetle and Megatron was a hand gun with a very powerful blast. Neither is so for the movie. The blu-ray video is very good to watch as it shows clear crisp images throughout most of the movie. There were some parts that didn’t look like 1080p. The audio which is what I like the most was exceptional during the action scenes. The movie is recorded in the Dolby TrueHD format which I like a lot. Transformers Dolby TrueHD soundtrack creates an environment during action scenes that make you feel like you are there in the fight with the characters in the movie. For instance in Transformers, at the beginning of the movie when the first transformer helicopter attacks the military base, the surround sound is awesome. You almost feel like ducking. Audio in a movie is often overlooked due to the lack of a home theater system large or small that takes advantage of the different surround sound formats that mostly all movies are recorded in. The audio can often make a bad movie seem better or good movies seem worse if not done right. Wanted definitely has it right for the action scenes it has. It definitely makes the movie more enjoyable. I would suggest to anyone who loves listening to movies in surround sound to buy this movie in blu-ray. If you don't have a surround sound system I would suggest you get one and watch this movie. This is a good movie."

This is a great movie with a lot going on. There are a few different sub plots that happen, they all kind of mesh into one in the end though so it works. Also there are a few times it strays from the original source, but there are a couple things to remember about transformers. Bumble Bee was a VW bug in the cartoon and a Chevy Camaro in this movie. Well VW did not want to license the bug out for the movie so they had to do something. Also, to say that it really stays from the cartoon, the cartoon was a 30 min add for the transformers toys. This is not a derogatory statement, but the truth. The toy came out before the show and the show only came out because the FCC changed the rules on making shows out of toys. Also, Bay has a certain level of artistic rights to change things being the director and all. If you were a Transformers "fan boy" would you rather have this movie with a couple things changed and a whole lot of action? Or would you rather not have a movie at all? Personally I liked the whole thing though. Very well done transforming scenes and a lot of action to be had. I highly recommend this movie to all.

Excellent Addition To Any Action Lover's Library

This was a surprisingly good film. I was a bit leery initially about this movie considering the subject material was based on a line of children's toys from the '80's. However, I was gladly mistaken in my initial mis-givings about it. I was impressed at how well the special effects came out. The robots all looked very realistic in all their appearances transforming from vehicles to robots and back to vehicles. Also the battles between the robots were very well executed. The audio is also noteworthy in this movie. The 5.1 audio came through very well on this particular DVD with plenty of usage on all speaker channels. This disc is an excellent selection to demo a home theater setup with. I don't feel there's really any need to review the film's story. It's pretty unbelievable in many areas but that's par for the course with action movies of this variety. All in all, this is one to get for your library. You won't be disappointed with it in the slightest.

    Transformers

The thing that strikes you the most while watching the movie "Transformers" is not how spectacular its special effects are or how ferociously its action sequences come across on screen, but rather how very Funny so much of the movie manages to be. After having sat stone-faced through many of the alleged "comedies" foisted upon us in recent months - "Evan Almighty," "License to Wed," even "Shrek the Third," to name just a few - I'm pleased to announce that I laughed quite a bit throughout the course of "Transformers" - and I do mean good-sized belly-laughs, not mere titters or snickers. Prime credit for that obviously goes to screenwriters, Roberto Orci and Ales Kurtzman, but I would be remiss if I didn't also acknowledge Shia LaBeouf's contributions in this regard. In this his first certified blockbuster, LaBeouf finally achieves the superstardom he`s been steadily heading towards the past several years.

    Better than Star Wars!

I just took my entire family to see this movie today on the big screen. My kids were thrilled! I grew up with the Transformer cartoons when I was a kid and always loved it. So when they made this movie I was sceptical. I thought it would be very similiar to the let down that I had when I saw the Hulk. The special effects were amazing and how they made the machines seem real and almost human like was fantastic!!! I found myself on the edge my seat the whole time wanting to know what was going to happen next. I was almost sad it was over!! When we walked out of the movie theatre I told my husband that we are going to purchase Transformers as soon as we can purchase it. So here I am preordering this movie to have as soon as possible. I highly recommend this for all those generation x'ers out there that loved the cartoon and for all of our new little ones who will love it too!!!

    Awesome Movie

This movie is hands down the best movie you will ever see, since it's release date, until Transformers Revenge of the Fallen comes out. I don't know why the other guy as complaining about the story line not being the same as the original cartoon because if it had followed that it would have been uninteresting for a lot of people. I also don't know why he said the acting was bad, but it probably had to do with some of the cheesy lines that were in the movie but it only made it more enjoyable. Anyone who gives his movie below a 5 is crazy especially if they said it made them almost cry. I won't give any of the story away if you haven't seen it yet, but it made me teary eyed as well. This movie is a must have on blu-ray.A Must Have!! Get it before you see Revenge of the Fallen and also don't forget to watch it through all of the credits.

    Summer Hit

One of the greatest movies ever and I would recommend the movie to all ages. The movie mixes both action and comedy well. Michael Bey even takes a stab at his previous film of Armageddon. ILM took great care in the detail of each Transfomer. You can see the detail in each scare mark on Optimus Prime down to the stencil mark of "To Enslave and Punish" on Barricade's rear quarter panel. The story has good plot line on why the Transformers got to Earth and why they are looking for Sam. There are a few loose ends that were not explained in the movie *Spoiler* What happens to Barracde in the end battle? And what happened to the Maggie (Signal Analysis) and Glenn Whitman (Maggie asks Glenn for help on analyzing the Decepticon signal) after battling Frenzy? Such small loose ends, and who really cares about those loose ends. Great Movie for all!!

This is one of the best movies of the decade. You will not be disappointed in this movie. This movie is a great film to watch with the family or with the guys/girls. The visual effects in this movie will blow you away. They are flawless and there is at no point to where it looks like a computer. The cars in it are nice too. Need I mention the new camaro that is in it. The plot of the story is just like the cartoon and comic book plots. A plot for the good guys to prevail over the bad guys. The movie is great in that it does give some background information on how the whole war start, just in case you missed the cartoon or the comics when you where little. Over all this movie covers all aspects of the story line. This will be a movie that if you rent it to watch then you will go to the store the next day and buy it.

    A great action movie

This has become one of my favorite movies! It ranks among the best sci-fi action movies ever made. Transformers does what many would say was impossible, namely doing Transformers in live-action and making it believable. The effects are jaw-droppingly good. From the transformations to the Transformers moving and interacting with thier enviroment. It is quite literally impossible to tell where the real ends and the CGI effects begin. The story is well written, the Autobots and Decepticons are seacrhing for the Allspark which is thier source of life and we get caught in the middle of thier war. Lots of exciting action scenes keep the intensity at maximum. The movie boasts some fine performances, from Hugo Weavings Megatron to Peter Cullen's Optimus Prime. Highly recommended!

    Deffinition of Blockbuster

Ill make this fast. The story starts off pretty paper thin, but who cares, they dive deeper into it as it goes along. The humans are very likeable for the most part and Sam and Bumblebee turn in a nice buddy/buddy type of thing by the end of it all. Its just cool and refreshing to see these types of characters combine. Anyway, all the autobots have their moments, and the finale as SICK. Wouldn't have minded it bein a few minutes longer though. But even though the stakes dont feel that massive, the action is still exhillerating, the good/douchey human characters are fun to watch, the villains are awesome, and Steve Jablonsky is a straight up wizard at crafting a musical score and making already exciting moments(thanks to Bay) even more exciting.

    Transformers Finally in Blu-Ray

I have to say this movie Rocks! Transformers finally in Blu ray this is a must buy...this movie from the robots transforming to the special effects and actions scenes you just have to stare at the screen and jaw drop at how they made these robots transform and fight way cool. the Blu ray is too cool, you get a treat in hi-def. The story line was decent. though to me leaves room for a prequel with this movie because a lot is lost to more of how they got to earth, there is a lot to me that is missing... this movie is for Transformers fans alike. especially comparing to the Cartoon movie of the 80's its nice that finally producers took seriously making this a true sci fi movie with all original characters. This is a must buy!!!! GO GET YOUR FIX! ROBOTS TRANSFORM

    Amazing Movie

Transformers has been one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. The graphics and animation on each transformer is incredible and has some of the best action scenes I have seen in a movie in quite a long time. Even if someone hasn't seen any of the cartoons of this series, the movie is an amazing start to past fans or future fans of this action/sci-fi movie. Hopefully this will turn into a trilogy and more. Transformers was one of the best summertime movie hits that has been released in the past 5 years and I recomend this movie to anyone at any age. It truly shows that the movie industry has changed its ways for anyone to be able to enjoy movies, no matter how much action, violence, derogatory wording, etc... is included in the film.
