I didn't use the desktop until a few months later, and when I tried to activate my Trend Micro subscription, I was told I only had a few days with the product then I would need to renew it and pay... even though i never got to use my 6 months included with my Purchase.

They aren't worth the effort. I especially didn't need one with my chromebook! The email reminders are very spammy. If you want to give me something free with my chromebook or laptop, throw me a cheap mouse or case.
