Then the laptop told me I have windows security already installed. So, I deleted it.

They all use undocumented protocols, which routinely break windows during updates, and sometimes even introduce security vulnerabilities themselves. Windows includes a great free AV that is all you need. Even free is too high a price for 3rd party AV...
