Free but not so great. UI is confusing and it constantly takes up a lot of ram and cpu.

Good Protection but Slowed My Computer Down

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I installed this mainly for the extra antivirus and internet security features, and it does seem to offer solid protection. Setup was fairly straightforward and the interface is easy enough to navigate. That said, after installing it I definitely noticed my computer running slower than usual, especially during startup and when running scans in the background. Programs took longer to open and overall performance just didn’t feel as smooth as before. It might work better on a newer or more powerful system, but on my machine the slowdown was noticeable enough that I’m not sure I’ll keep using it. The protection features are good, but the performance impact was a downside for me.

Okay for Everyday Use, Not for Advanced Security

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Trend Micro Internet Security provides solid basic protection, but it feels average compared to other antivirus options on the market. Setup is easy, and it works across multiple devices, which many users appreciate. It does a good job blocking common threats and phishing sites, and for everyday browsing it offers decent peace of mind. However, based on both my experience and what many other users mention, the software can feel limited. Some features are fairly basic, system scans can slow things down at times, and the interface feels dated compared to competitors. Auto-renewal and frequent notifications are also common complaints, so you have to stay on top of settings and billing. Overall, Trend Micro is fine for basic, casual use, but users who want stronger protection, better performance, or more advanced features may want to look at other security solutions.

I once had this brand a while back. I will never trust it again. This software failed to protect my computer and the whole system came crashing down. It took a while to revive my computer a I lost a lot of stuff. I now use AVG and my computer has never been compromised.

I’ve been using Trend Micro Internet Security for a while now, and I’m impressed with its performance. The installation was quick and hassle-free, and the interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate even for non-tech-savvy users like me. One of the standout features is its real-time protection, which has kept my devices safe from various online threats, including malware and phishing attacks. The web browsing protection is also excellent, providing peace of mind while surfing the internet. I appreciate the email scanning feature, which adds an extra layer of security to my inbox. Plus, the parental controls are handy for managing my children’s online activities and ensuring they’re safe online.

This will protect your computer well enough but it's nothing special compared to other antivirus options available. (There are none that are all that special anymore though, to be honest) Not a huge fan of the 6mo subscription option, I'd prefer 12mo

Getting this set up was speedy thanks to the instant digital download. I'm using it to secure a mix of Windows and mobile devices, and the cross-platform management is flawless. Technically, the real-time protection is robust, catching web threats effectively without generating false positives. I’m also a fan of the user interface; it’s modern and easy to navigate, making it simple to check security status at a glance. It does precisely what it promises without being intrusive.

Use Windows Defender for free it's better than Trend. I had to use special software to get this program off my computer. Basically just malware. Best Buy should stop including this with a purchase.

The only thing I don’t care for is the regular pop ups. I understand they want me to be involved in the process of securing my devices, but it’s a bit annoying. I haven’t got a virus yet….

Light antivirus software with good protection

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It’s a good antivirus software, with minimal background use of resources. I do a lot of gaming at really high frame rates (I play Overwatch at 600 fps) and I like that there is a mute mode where you can also limit background apps. This antivirus seems to be on the lighter side of things when it comes to resource usage which is rare for the use type of programs now a days. The only reason why it’s not a 5 for me is because it’s not that different in terms of antivirus protection compared to windows defender, at least to me.

Trend Micro Internet Security The Invisible Shield

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Trend Micro Internet Security is a reliable "set-it-and-forget-it" solution for protecting your digital life. It operates quietly in the background, effectively blocking web-based threats like phishing and malicious links before they reach your hard drive. While it doesn't offer some of the extra features found in competitors, it offers excellent core web protection, making it a great choice for users who prefer straightforward security.
