The laptop is in S Mode. And runs on Microsoft apps. Otherwise it was free with purchase. I'm sure it works well with other devices

It claims to protect me from ransomware and malware, but did not mention if it also protects me from other PC virus. Upon installation, it will also coerce you into making an account. I don't know if it installs if I close the dialog box but it doesn't have the Skip button. Finally, the 6-month subscriptions starts at the time you purchase the product, and not at the time you actually use it. The laptop that I purchased came with a 30-day trial of the other antivirus. So if you choose to consume the 30 day trial, then you basically have 5 months left for this. I still have to see how this performs in terms of resource/RAM usage and its efficacy to combat threats.

But nowadays there are many free security features that come with windows and mac. It all depends on your usage and practices on the internet and system usage which says you really need this or not.
