I've usually had professionals install my anti virus, this one, Trend Micro, but decided to try it myself this time. I ended up installing the free microsoft one. They need to start putting the disc back in these! it's a great anti virus if you know what you're doing or have a pro install it for you.

I had my Companies tech support department to scrub and they determined that it had (18) virus' that had to be cleared out. My concern is that after initially installing the program why did it not pick up the virus'? A serious "red flag"!!! Would not recommend this product.

Gobbles up system resources
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even with 16 GB RAM, Trend was a hog. Trouble is it's not just for a few minutes, rather it goes on and on with its processes and set off other operating system processes, to the tune of 2 to 4 GB of RAM being occupied. Occasionally, it rests in the background, but since I do most of my work on the internet, it's almost always running. I imagine it does ok with virus protection, but it did miss a massive spyware and adware intrusion, which I had to remove manually and then eventually with a System Restore. The big problem is that it slows down the processing, sometimes by 40-50%. When that happens the good news is a restart often takes care of it. Bottom line, I would be cautious about using this with less than 12 GB of RAM, unless you know upfront you are going to have system slowdown. And, there is no way to temporarily turn it off.

Laptop ran EXTREMELY HOT with incredible fan noise!!! Now my pc has no protection while online. Please beware of this software...
