What I found was that it also allows one to strap or tape the tripod to a tree, post, or pole for a very quick camera mount. Adds to the many other mounting options that GoPro accessories provide.

However it took a long time for me to set up and sync with my phone app. The storage space is minimal, so it fills quickly then had performance issues. Overall, I like the camera and the fact that you can extract still shots from video, but just be prepared for a bit of set up.
