A Disney movie that showed how the computer would change our life

I watched this when it came out in the movies. Nostalgia at work here...

this is a great classic, i enjoyed watching this in blu ray

Tron is a great movie. High concept and imaginative for its time. A hero's quest like star wars set inside the world of computers. The bluray doesn't offer much more than standard dvd as far as picture quality. But the combo pack is around the same cost as just the dvd format so no real loss.

Good family film, that makes yoy think outside the box

I immediately knew I had to get this. I was a big Tron fan growing up, both of the movies and games. It’s quite unfortunate that I did not enjoy the movie at all. The cgi was so bad and this movie was so boring

The original Digital, CGI top of the line movie with incredible “ahead of its time” graphics. The story is fun and enjoyable!

Great movies watch it again and again and again

This is one of my favorite movies and it's great to have it in High Defenition. Tron follows the adventures of Kevin Flynn (played by Jeff Bridges), a young programmer who gets pulled in to the Grid, an alternate reality that exists inside of computers. While in the Grid, he tries to return to his own world. He meets a program named Tron (played by Bruce Boxlietner) and joins Tron in the struggle for freedom against the Master Control Program (MCP). This was the first movie to make extensive use if CGI visual effects, a new technology in 1982. Back in '82, the visual effects looked astounding. The animations still look good, they look very fluid, not choppy at all. Tron still holds up, which is remarkable when you consider how technology has advanced since 1982. The look and feel of the move is unique. The art design, lighting, costming and music create an alternate world that looks truly otherworldly. Waching this movie, you don't see a different version of our everyday world but a whole other universe. The quality of the Blu-Ray transfer is exemplary. There were some issues with the DVD that are not a factor with the Blu-Ray. All the fantastic visuals and sounds come through in crystal clarity. This is the best Tron has ever looked. The extras include some nice featurettes on the making of Tron, but my favorites are the early CGI films. There are several examples of some early CGI footage. They may look primitive by today's standards, but they all give an inkling as to the future potential of CGI visual effect. It even includes CGI animation the director, Steven Lindsberger used to promote his studio and was the first appearance of Tron(though in a much different form). Tron is an amazing High defenition experience. It wa cutting edge for its day and is now an enduring classic. Essential for any B;u-Ray collection.

I've been a Tron fan for years and can honestly say I could not have been more happy when i saw this was coming to BD. It's a great movie, Jeff Bridges is incredible, and will be liked by any Sci Fi fan.

If you didn't live the eighties it will be hard to fully get this movie. The subject by today's standards and technology is quite dated, but we denizens of game rooms and arcades remember when there was no dance dance revolution, prize counters, guitar hero and skeeball taking up the floor once devoted to donkey Kong, pac-man, asteroids and defender. Tron was the way we could live vicariously inside video games. The look was cutting edge at the time before cgi came along. A lot of fun for old school animation and live-action sci-fi fantasy buffs.

Thanks Disney for releasing this. The Blu Ray has a quality that was great to see this movie in. Still a great movie and so ahead of its time. Everyone must remember that this was made in 1982. Before the PC. WOW! Especially enjoyed the special features. If you are a TRON fan, You've got check out "The making of TRON". It makes you want more!!

classic film was ahead of it's time, glad to see it remade well and happy with my purchase

This is a great movie, it's a bit dated, but it held up pretty well over the years.

This is one movie plot line that was ahead of the story it wanted to tell. If made today the effects would have been more in tune with the story they wanted to tell, but still, it was a GREAT movie.
