The movie is a fun movie to watch especially with surround sound. The only thing that it's an older movie and it still run's $30 plus in the store compared to new movies with 3d. I think disney just prices there products way to high. I would not recommend purchasing it for the price.

    Audio/Visual Treat - with excellent 3D

First off, this movie gets a 10/10 in the WOW department, for audio and visuals. Flawless video, sound, and 3D. Don't listen to people complain about the lack of 3D. Yes the beginning and end are 2D.. but do people complain that the beginning and end of the Wizard of Oz wasn't all in color? No. The 3D portion sucks the viewer into the grid, as the main character was in the film. That moment when he enters the computer, that extra dimension pops out at you! That is movie magic (lame phrase whatever)! I think people are too harsh on the film. It takes a few viewings (and maybe some internet research) to really understand all the workings of the plot. It does have a shiny exterior that will please most fans; but also has a really intelligent core that might pass over some peoples' heads. There aren't many extras, something which I am willing to forgive; but would have truly enjoyed. The pacing isn't the best, and that's just a small gripe considering the spectacular action sequences scattered about. Here's what I want to say now that I'm on my soapbox: when you watch 3D movies, you aren't going to see a soccer ball fly into your face (as the 3D demos at Best Buy would have you believe). Sure it was fun in My Bloody Valentine and Piranha 3D, but they were gimmicks. In Tron: Legacy (or many other films), there's no point to have something "fly" into your face. It's the sense of depth that really adds something to the moviegoing experience. And I think that's lost on most 3D movie-goers today. This is coming from a cinephile and home theater aficionado. If you want to believe the 1-star reviews from the n00bs, you're going to be missing out on a stupendous 3d experience!

    Good visuals, semi-boring story

Tron: Legacy is a good sequel, but much like the original, the story can be dragging at times. A definite plus on the movie is the action has been modernized and it's a visual spectacle. The music in this movie is also a massive upgrade as Daft Punk take over the soundtrack with an array of awesome tunes which make the film a bit more passive.

Tron Legacy was an roller coaster ride full of thrills that you never want to get off again. From beginning to the end this movie was just extremely mind blowing. I saw it in IMAX 3D 5 story movie screen that just changed your perception of watching movies. Even though it was PG this movie was a dark film, which made it gnarly and wicked. This will be one of my top Blu Ray movies that I can watch over and over. CGI was great and the best part was Daft Punk worked on the whole entire soundtrack. Do yourself a favor and go BUY this movie!!!!

    Excellent 3D Flick

A lot of reviewers are saying the 3D is "terrible". I disagree. The purpose of the 3D is to add depth to the story, and place you inside the "grid" with the characters. It succeeds on this level, and I can only assume that the naysayers are looking for things flying out of the screen at them. The movie itself is extremely enjoyable despite some subpar acting by Hedlund and plot issues. But is that really why you're watching a movie like this? The film on a whole is great, and the music by Daft Punk is the cherry on top. Enjoy.

    Gets better every time

The first time I watched this, I rented the Blu-Ray (2D) and was not very impressed. It was fun because it was TRON, but I felt the acting and writing wasn't that great. It was okay, and felt like what TRON was supposed to be, but I felt a little let down. However, I decided to spring for the 3D copy when I got my new setup, and I'm very glad I did. The writing and acting seemed to really grow on me the second time around, and the difference the 3D made elevated this movie from "all right" to "very good". I'd also like to counter all of those complaints about the 3D aspect. Everything before and after "The Grid" was shot in 2D on purpose (and they even say so before the opening credits). The entire "Grid" section is shot in 3D and is done very well. You can see the difference immediately when it shifts. Just because you don't feel like something isn't flying out of the screen constantly and hitting you in the face doesn't mean it's not shot in 3D, and not shot in 3D very well.

    People Missed the Point

i feel this is a very good addition to the tron story some 28 years later. what people fail to realize is that when this movie was shot, it was meant to play out exactly as it does in the 3d bluray copy...only in partial 3d. i saw this movie in the theater in 3d and this bluray is exactly as it was in the theater. it was made, not to necessarily have things jump out at you, but to pull you inside the grid and add different dimensions to the landscape there. i think it was extremely well made.

Loved the first Tron which was quite groundbreaking back in its day, so I had very high expectations for the sequel. The overall look of the Tron Game Universe is incredible. The effects are dazzling, however the story tends to be a bit bland. The CGI Jeff Bridges made sense in the Tron Universe but I'm not quite sure why the director Joseph Kosinski chose to do the same in the "real world" flashbacks. It just looked to cheesey and cartoonish. Hopefully, this idea could be rectified if there ever is a Tron 3 by having it explained that Flynn's clone managed to cross-over in the past? I don't know. Oh last thing...the Daft Punk soundtrack was amazing. Reminded me of Blade Runner's Vangelis.

Great All-Around Movie for Blu-Ray: GRID CHALLENGE

This movie was one of the first movies I have watched in blu-ray and it's unbelievable. The color and CG are immaculate. Watch this in the dark on a big LED screen, 5.1 surround sound with the volume & bass up, and prepare for the movie night of your life because things get crazy once young Flynn crosses over! Highly recommended purchase.

AWESOME! I'm a true fan.. I just can't get enough of this brilliant movie. Everything was terrific, the actors, the screenplay, the music, the transitions from wide screen to full screen.. it is a breath of fresh air. I am most glad this movie came out in my life-time. I watch it over and over and over... it is that good.. I never get bored of the movie. I LOVE Garrett Hedlund (Sam) - He made the movie expectacular.... I just love to see him act in this movie.. I can't get enough of him!!

3D and CGI make this movie great

This is NOT the 3D pop out in your face. This is a beautiful 3D, crystal clear and great color. Lots of action and a fairly good plot. I probably would not have bought this movie just as it is but the 3D adds a whole new dimension. I have a samsung 60" ES8000 with active shutter glasses. At times, it's like you are sitting right there with the characters. This is BEYOND bluray!

    forget the 3D

I have watched a lot of 3d movies, and played several 3d games on my setup, and Tron was very disappointing in 3D. Half the time it didn't look 3D and when it did it was more distracting than anything with out of focus backgrounds and images that did not pop in 3d. For a movie that has a ton of CGI they could have done way better. Resident Evil Afterlife was awesome in 3D so I expected Tron 3D to be even better and wasn't even close. By the end of Tron I didn't even consider it a 3d movie and if I watch it agin it will be in 2d. Movie was ok, some will like it some won't. Felt they had a huge world to use with the Tron universe and they didn't take full advantage of everything they could do. Should have been epic and it was just ok.

    Blu-Ray Rules

This movie was made just to be a Blu-Ray spectacle and I could not agree more. Yeah the story has holes and the acting is OK, but if you want to see what HDTV and Blu-Ray where made for, this is the movie. I watched the DVD on a Sony upconverter first and was a little disappointed since the story and acting are not the greatest. I'm glad I threw the Blu-Ray into the PS3 with the BOSE sound system, WOW. I'm glad I'm not photo sensative to seizures.
