This is definitely one of HBO's finest series. To be fair, I was skeptical when I did some research before seeing the series. But now, I'm hooked! My wife and I absolutely love this show. It has the right mixture of drama, comedy, and horror to appeal to most HBO watchers. All of the characters are interesting in their own way. And, their stories are tied together brilliantly. A must own for any DVD set buyer. Note: I wouldn't recommend this for any kids/teens that are into the whole Twilight mania. While True Blood is similar, it has a fair amount of adult language, drug use/references, nudity, etc.

My husband is a Vampire enthusiast so we see a lot of the movies but a series just seemed like it would be to much for me, not being a fan myself, but I was plesantly surprised. The charaters are all very realistic and everyone has so many secrets that the "Vampire coming out" business doesn't cause the mass histeria you think it would. It's full of lies, deseption and heavy on the drama so your constantly entertained...although they leave you hanging waiting for season two. Pay close attention, you may leran somethings about vapires you never knew.

I love this show. It's has a strong cast and great acting. I love the score for the show as well. I adore the secondary characters such as Lafayette (always in stitches when he's on screen) and Sam. It's not geared towards kids/young teens. It is on HBO after all. There's a lot of blood, violence, hard language, and nudity. But again, it's on HBO. True Blood is great for anyone over 17. The show is true to the book series, but at the same time can stand on its own. I highly recommend this series to anyone fascinated by the vampire genre.

I am a Sookie Stackhouse fan and have read all the books in the series and short stories by Charlaine Harris. The hints and audio commentary included on the blue-ray version I purchased were great for those in my family that watched the DVDs but had not read the books. it was probably a better experience for them at first than for me because they had not read the books because there are things in the series that don't follow the story line from the books. Overall, I was pleased by the purchase. I look forward to my next purchase.

I got addicted to True Blood even before the season started on HBO. The previews got me hooked! I wasn't much of a fan of Alan Ball's until he introduced me to the characters in Bon Temps, Louisiana. The show is based (some-what loosely) on the Charlaine Harris "Southern Vampire" book series. Although I much prefer the novels to the show, True Blood is still worth the watch with its riviting and likeable characters even if the acting is not exactly the greatest.

I love the show, & even catch myself fussing at the charaters as they make stupid decisions... And Yes I am from south Louisiana. I do cringe when I hear a BAD accent that sounds very fake, or just horrable!!! But For the most part I just love the story line, Sookie, and all her trials and tribulations. And the scenery is just beautiful because it is filmed in my home state!!!

This show is so addictive. A new episode would come on every sunday night. I remember wanting the week to rush by, so i could hurry and see what happens next. Great story plot. Relates a lot to our reality. Makes you kinda wonder if there are vampires. Vampire Bill is a stud muffin. Overall The best darn show ever!

This show is very entertaining. Very well written story line that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Great likeable characters that you really get into and root for. Can be a bit cheezy but that just makes the story a bit funny. Love love love the whole show!! Can wait till the next season comes out!

This HBO series truely brings the Sookie Stackhouse, Southern Vampire Series books to life. While it drifts away from the books as most shows do, it holds true to the overall story line. If you like the books you'll love the HBO series.

I LOVE TRUE BLOOD ITS MY FAVORITE SHOW TO WATCH, I WOULD SAY TO EVERYONE GO BUY THIS TV SHOW YOU WON'T GET MAD I PROMISE IT WILL BE WORTH YOUR WHILE WATCHING IT. I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF BILL COMPTON & ERIC NORTHMEN. STEPHEN MOYER DOES A GOOD JOB PLAYING BILL COMPTON ON THIS TV SERIES SHOW. I CAN'T WAIT TO BUY THE 2TH ONE & THE THIRD ONE.

This is an excellent story that only HBO could have. You need to give it a couple of episodes to really get into it but once you do, you're hooked. I can't wait for the 2nd season! Though once again beware that it has very explicit scenes and strong language and I know some people can be very offended by it, so it's not for everyone.

I was hooked on this show before they ever started filming it! As soon as I heard Allan Ball was going to make a series based on Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire books (a favorite book series of mine from book 1!) I knew it was going to be good! I wasn't disappointed. If you're looking for vampires for adults, this is for you!

Take away the blood, guts, and gore, and True Blood is your everyday drama with racism, religious intolerance, love, hate, politics, homophobia, and life in general. The Vampires, Fairies, Werewolves, and other supernatural creatures seem to be metaphors for the personalities we deal with everyday at the office!

True Blood is the greatest show on HBO right now. A friend got it for me and I didn't think I would like it. You know the basic girl meets vampire scenario...trying to mesh two worlds. The characters are interesting and the plot keeps you guessing. I watched the whole series in 4 days because I couldn't stop.

This might be my favorite show ever. I love everything about it, the acting, the story, everything! I watched it every week, and now that it's on blu-ray, i couldn't be more happy about it. i know HBO has made many great series, but True Blood is provocative, sexy, and hot! made me fall in love with vampires.

The creators of this HBO series did an awesome job capturing exactly what Charlaine Harris depicted in her Sookie Stackhouse book series. Every episode leaves you craving for the next. If you are a vampire junkie or just like a good story line then the True Blood series is for you.

A nice bit of Vampire fluff. It seems especially popular with the ladies who crave vampire films brimming with repressed (and not so repressed) sexuality. Notwithstanding, the cast seems up to the task and are often quite entertaining. I did find myself fastforwarding through most of the nude scenes as they did become quite frequent and distracting. Oddly enough, it seems the supporting cast were much more entertaining than the leads. Not one for the kiddies. Definitely worth the purchase price and a good addition to your library.

True blood is a must see! Two thumbs up! Five Stars! This series keeps you wanting more. There is never a boring episode, and they just seem so real! I think True Blood will have many more seasons to come!

I received this product having never seen or read any of the True Blood series or books. I was blown away by the quality production, acting, and story line. This show is more addictive than "V" itself!

True Blood is at turns awesome, chessy and campy fun. It's a great show. Anytime Sam, Tara, Lafayette and of course Eric are on screen I can't get enough. I know I'm supposed to love Sookie and Bill but I don't, the secondary characters are more interesting by far.
