Well to start off, I came in to this series not knowing a thing about it. Not a trailer, teaser, nor a recommendation. First two episodes started out a bit slow and then it really picked up. Absolutely the best series I have ever watched. The character development was so dynamic and you really see change in them that you keep wanting to see more. If you buy this, you will get your moneys worth, trust me, I'm a king.

I though the acting was strong, and at times you feel like these A-list actors have created characters that are so intense, you forget that it was not a real-life story. Each True Detective season is with a new cast so the story is wrapped up, which is great for not having to invest years for a series that gets cancelled. Subject matter is adult only. Worth watching.

I don't think there is enough space for me to accurately praise this show enough. Simply put, it's brilliant. From the writing, to the acting, to the cinematography, everything is crafted so phenomenally. Everyone should watch this show (age pending).

From what I can remember, I was pretty confused the first 2-3 episodes, but when it all starts coming together, oh boy are you in for a ride! One key tip I used to help better comprehend the accents, dialogue, and story was: USE SUBTITLES. Enjoy!

First of, the box set arrived pretty quickly, which was a plus! The packaging was clean with no scratches, and the discs played perfectly! Great HD picture and great sound, which is the ONLY way to experience this show! Overall, great buy!

It is hard to describe just what makes this show (particularly this season) so special. I recommend to anyone who appreciates a great drama, and is not turned off by the darker themes in film/television.

The writing and acting are great in this series. I agree that it is a little dark, but is a great choice for viewers that like murder mysteries and thrillers. Was able to get it at a great price and very pleased!

Two great actors combined with great storyline. Watched it the first time on television and then purchased. So much detail and twist, it is a series which you could watch several times.

I got this Blu ray during black Friday for a great price and I really enjoyed watching this show because of the great action, drama and suspense. It is a great detective show.

I started watching this show for all the wrong reasons. By episode two, you will understand why ;). I ended up enjoying it for the right reasons and would definitely recommend it!

Better than Breaking Bad. Better than Gotham. Better than the Walking Dead. It is so good! The writing and acting are top notch! I have re-watched this about 4 times so far!

This is a fantastic show with very unique and interesting characters. The mood, story and suspense are top notch. The audio and video are excellent, this is an HBO release after all.

True Detective: The Complete First Season is an excellent product. The DVDs were well packaged and the first season was too good. Overall an enjoyable viewing experience.

I couldn't stop watching. Its a mesmerizing story, with some very dark places, this is not for everyone. Its very well written, plot intensive and well portrayed.

True detective is a series that has A+ actors and quite entertaining.

But that's just my opinion, you have to purchase this to judge for yourself. I never listen to reviews, I only care about what I think.

This new HBO show was amazing. I was literally at the edge of my seat. No spoiler alerts. Just watch. Definetly not for the faint of heart.

At first I wasn't sure what to expect, but the show won me over. Great storyline and great acting, I must've for true TV fans.

This show is very engaging. It is nice having the entire season to bin watch. Great price.
