Really good headphones for gaming.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After searching & searching for which gaming headphone set(s) to buy. I've noticed that these were on sale really cheap at Best Buy while looking thur the Sunday sales. So i looked over some Youtube video's for people's reviews. And after watching like 8 different one's. I decided to take a chance & buy them. Best thing i've done yet. I'm not the only person who play's on my Xbox 360, so they were impress by them also. While playing COD:MW3, it really made our gaming experience better to enjoy & i can finally play my video games after work (which is like after 2am) & not be worried about about waking up the family when sleeping. Do yourself a favor & just buy them. Can't beat this price right now compared to other headsets that range well over $120-$250. These are worth it.

AMAZING!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never had a turtle beach before i got this 1. But my friend had an XL11 so one day i was at his house and decided to try it on. I have to admit it was the best game i've ever played until i got my X12. The bass made me feel like i was actually in the game. Also i never have to wake up my parents with a loud tv. The mike is so sensitive i sugest holding it a little bit away from your face. The design and color scheme are pretty freaking amazing. And as for comfort way better than any mike i have ever had or tryed on. You definiatly get your moneys worth when buying this mike. Also let me tell all those people out there who have never had and are going to buy a pair get this one and u will fall in love with them the moment you put them on. I hope you liked my review so make the right choice get this mike as soon as possible.

Hard to ask for more!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is completely worth the price (wich is rare in this price range). The headset delivers what it should (for the price) and has quality that matches the price pretty close. Not much wrong in this headset for its price range, its hard to find something better for this price. The headset is very comfortable but it will obviously cause some discomfort after prolonged periods of use, but lets remember that this isnt a 100-300 dollar headset with breathable memory foam. The cables are subject to break since well, it isnt wireless, but if you take good care of them, they should have a good life span. All in all, i highly recommend this headset, there are very view with the same value for this price.

Outstanding
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very very good headset. Sound quality us outstanding. The bass is very deep and will vibrate your head when the bass boost is turned all the way up. The mic has high quality and the build quality of the headset is very good. My only problem is that the fabric on the ear cups (the padding) is rather stiff and doesn't allow air to pass through it so your ears will feel hot and maybe even sweat with them on. Also the tree logo inside the ear cups is rather rough and if you keep moving the ear cups around it will begin to scratch your ear. These are just small complaints of mine. You may find them to be the most comfortable things ever. Anyway they are a great buy. Outstanding quality for a extremely low price.

Would have been 5 stars if not for 2 things.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my landlord complained on a couple of occasions about my surround sound system being too loud I decided that it was time to purchase a headset. Luckily for me, this pair was on sale for $40 and I took the plunge. I'm happy to report that these headphones are excellent and I'm very pleased with my purchase. The sound quality is top-notch and the mic works great! Actually, some of my fellow gamers have complained that the mic works TOO well. LOL! Or, it could just be that I'm loud. Good thing for them the mic is adjustable and I can move it closer or farther away from my mouth as necessary. Also worth noting is the fact that there are seperate controls for the game volume and the chat channel so I never I have a problem hearing what I need to hear. Now for the not-so-great part; First, this is a wired controller so the wires do get in the way sometimes. You'll need to hook these wires up to your system for game sound AND to your controller to communicate with others when you're gaming online. It's a minor inconvenience for the quality afforded but worth noting. The cords are long, which is a plus, to allow you to sit a good distance away from your console and tv. Secondly, and the major factor you should be concerned about is the fact that this pair of headphones is not immediately usable out of the box if you're playing using an HDMI connection to your television. If this is the case, you'll need to buy a seperate accessory which will send audio to the headphones. This is not mentioned on the packaging and costs an additional $20 (at least). Fortunately, Best Buy also sells this accessory as well but it would have been nice to know this before I left the store. Good thing for me (and Best Buy) that I wasn't going straight home to use these headphones, so, I was able to pick the additional cable up before I put them to use. I didn't appreciate paying the extra $20 bucks though, but, since the headphones were on sale, I ended up paying the same $60 that they're listed as. If you're buying full price and playing with an HDMI setup though, these will run you over $80 with the necessary accessory. Overall though, I highly recommend these as they've proven to be a quality set of headphones and are still a value compared to some of the others I've seen.

Incredible Headset, missed so much without it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gave this headset 5 starts but a mid-rating for the Value because, independent of how excellent these are, I believe all of these gaming headsets are far too overpriced. That being said, these are the best for the $ spent. The old adage is true, you never know what you have got until its gone, the reverse holds true in this case - you never know what you are missing until you have it. Independent of that, I cannot imagine sound being any better than what these are capable of producing. The in-store demo display actually doesn't show their true potential until you get them home and in a game. It is truly remarkable the sounds, cuing, clarity and deep bass that comes from these 50mm sets. It is very comfortable and I have a VERY large head yet the pressure is very slight despite that, is great. Sounds, there are sounds & triggers in the game that I never knew even existed playing previously only out of a 2 speaker TV (probably like most folks). It really is like an entirely new game and even watching a movie is a totally new experience. The controls in-line for the amplication, bass boost, seperate chat/game volumes are great. Beware - there are a lot of wires going on, coming from the console is a generous ~16' line then there is a nother shorter cable going from the in-line control to the hand held controller. Only took a few minutes to situate the cables, while sitting in one place I dont see this as an issue. If you are the type that scoots around while playing and cant sit still, this may be additional baggage. The MIC, excellent - sensitive, clear, I am communicating with folks with a mere low voice/whisper late at night and everyone hears me perfectly. On the downside, the MIC IS SENSITIVE... So beware of any background noise (animals barking or even conversations) as it will pickup from a much farther distance that you would think. I love it. With the gain controls cranked up in the dead silence I hear the faintest - FAINT - hum when the chat is cranked up to max. Like anything else, shouldn't be running gain controls maxed out. In a text however, with just game volume maxed its crystal clear. Truth be told, unless you are literally near deaf, you wouldn't be able to have the controls near max for more than a moment without damaging your hearing. It is however CLEAR, crystal clear at max gains without distortion in the bass. That is what is amazing, however they did it, these are true Audiophile quality phones that, seemingly, is impervious to being overdriven. If you have been going back n forth, should I shouldn't I - like me, when I got this hooked up and used it, tweaked my controls I am still in awe... BUY IT, you wont be dissapointed. This should be a standard device with all gaming consoles.

Best headphones for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the TB X11's then upgraded to these, if you have the X11's you will like the X12's even more, same basic design, very comfortable, now added bass booster, and now in black so they look allot cooler! They sound a little better too, so overall I am very pleased with the X12's and Best Buy has the best price online and doing in store pickup is so easy, you order online abnd choose your local store to pick up at, then go pick it up in like 20 minutes, no waiting for UPS shipping and dealing with all that hassle, thanks Best Buy!

Some of the best around
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Crystal clear sound, great balance between treble and bass, very comfortable, great price. I haven't had these for too long but as of now, quality is great. These are lightweight and durable, so don't worry about dropping them. For the price, you won't find anything better, so let no one tell you otherwise. The only downside is that these are a beach to set up. Without the included handbook giving me other options for the setup, I most likely would have returned them. I'm glad I didn't!!

Great headset for price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headset. Quality made headset. Sound is good. I like the game and chat volume control. There are options in how you can hook the headset up. If you are charging your controller battery, and are using the chat, there is a slight hum. But in the middle of playing, you don't notice it very much. The headset could be a little more comfortable, but it is not bad. Sometimes the wires get in the way.

Works with PS3 also.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i want to help anyone who has both systems. this can work with the ps3 also. both my systems use hdmi. my samsung ty has a composite audio out. (red and white). this set comes with an adapter that allows you to connect to the tv audio out and the cord is long enough to reach to the front of your systems. (mine are on shelves top and bottom from each other.) i use the usb on the front of both for power and hook the headset up to the turtle beach audio adapter they provide for sound. and you are set. i change the usb between systems when i play, but it seems to stay powered on even if the system is powered off. you may need to turn the volume down on your tv. my samsung runs the sound both throught the tv speakers and the audio out. i am starting to like headsets better than my surround sound system. i can have the volume up as loud as i want without disturbing the wife. the bass is quite nice for a headset. the sound is not officially surround sound, but it works well enough that you know stuff is behind or to one side of you. the cord is quite long. i have my couch about 8 to 10 feet from the tv. there is more than enough cord to cover the distance and not be restricted by it. as for comfort, it is good. not great, just good. i do have a big head. i wear fitted baseball caps size 8. so if you have a big mellon head, they will fit, but you will every once in a while need to re-position the headset. overall, i am very satisfied. i bought these on black friday for $34.95 and they are well worth that price. the regular price of 59.95 is not bad, but i think they are worth a 49.95 purchase price.

Better then the x11's
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is much clearer then the x11. It seems much more durable then the x11, i had a pair of the x11s and the right earcup fell off and completely stopped working, the variable bass boost is an appreciated feature

Good with some little problems.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok so I bought this headset primarly because I'm a really competitive gamer. These were ok. One thing I really haven't heard anyone talk about is it works with any game console for audio. Not for talking to people just for hearing like a movie on your t.v. on your ps2 , ps3 and wii. It's really convient so if someone is sleeping but you don't want to wake them just mute your t.v. and plug them the headset in and hear everything. The cord is massively long. Now lets talk about the sound qualty of the mic and chat and game sounds. The mic sometimes echos and it annoys everyone. And its really loud. I put it were before I got the headset I would normally put it so my voice wasn't loud. But with these it still is really loud. That's good that the mic is really dectecible but its a bit to detecible. The game sounds are amazing. I once thought my t.v. was on so I took them off and my t.v. was muted. Thats how good it is. The comfort was pretty decent. After about 2 hours it knida started to hurt. But overall there decent not bad but not to god. There worth $60.

AWESOME!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bottom line, awesome headset. Great price and quality. You do not need the seperate purchase of an adapter for HDMI! If you are running HDMI simply take the A/V cable that came with the system, You'll notice the tab that covers the HDMI port. Simply cut that off and plug it in like the adapter in the instruction, your not using it for anything else anyway. Yes, it is that simple. Works great and saves you $20. Hope this helps.

HE LOVED IT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my boyfriend who is a Xbox and PC Gamer. He loved it! It is nice, comfy, sturdy and great sound quality! Couldn't be more satisfied! The only negative side was that the wires are too short. He had to buy an extender for his laptop because the wires had to be plugged into both sides of the laptop so it didn't reach! Otherwise good.

Worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I normally don't buy turtle beaches but I needed a headset so I took a risk in buying these & they are well worth the price, sound is good, they look pretty cool & are comfortable. Only problem is the really long cord but I hide that behind my TV so it's not much of an issue

Great PC Gaming Headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with these headphones. I primarily use them for PC gaming, but I also like to listen to music on the computer and these work great for that as well. They are very comfortable for long gaming sessions and pretty light weight compared to other headphones I have tried. The volume / mic control box might be helpful for some I suppose, but I never change the settings so it kind of gets in the way sometimes when I'm taking the headphones on and off at my desk. I haven't tried the mic out yet, so I can't comment on how good it sounds. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend them to other PC gamers out there. Even though I found these headphones cheaper online, there is no way to know how they sound or feel before you buy them and returning them can be a real pain - especially if you are just not happy with the product as opposed to them being defective. I decided to pay a little extra and get them from a local Best Buy store. With a 30 day return policy, I had nothing to lose. Luckily that wasn't an issue since these headphones are great.

Great product for value price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been gaming since the days of the Atari 2600 and just now decided to purchase a gaming headset. Now I know some will argue that the X-12 is not a true gaming headset due to the lack of surround sound but for my review it serves its purpose. Since I have a rather nice surround system (Onkyo receiver, Klipsch pro speakers and Sub) I never put much thought into buying a headset before but was always curious about them. At $59.99 I figured the X-12s would be fine as an experiment whether or not I actually ended up liking them. After a very simple set-up process I decided to play some Modern Warfare 3 and was immediately impressed. I was actually hearing sounds I wasn't hearing previously or if I was they were much more detailed than ever. Little details like the running generator on Gulch, rustling leaves on Sanctuary, rain drops on certain maps are just a few. Played about 3hrs last night and the headset is very comfortable. I'm incredibly pleased with the purchase and am honestly considering upgrading to a pair with actual surround sound.
