|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Me and my 11 year old have been going back and forth with the turtle beach recon 70 and another brand which we have been using for about a year now. There are a few differences that need to be pointed out. The turtle beach recon 70 are a little louder, but they have a much more dynamic sound which brings out a bit more detail in the games. The one feature that these have which is much better than the older set is the ability to mute the mic by simply raising it up and out of the way. I really like this feature as compared to fumbling around for a switch located on the cord someplace. The ear pads seem a little stiffer, maybe that will soften up with use, but overall these are really nice corded headset and a really good value for the retail price. I dont think anyone would be disappointed.

I plugged them in to my PS4 controller via the 3.5mm jack and they worked right away. The sound is very good and the microphone worked well. No one told me they couldn't hear me and the flip up mute feature works as advertised. The only reason I took off a star was the ear muffs. The "premium synthetic" cushions kind of stick to my ears and weren't as comfortable as I felt that they could be. That being said, this is a great set of headphones at this price point.

I did have a problem with the microphone being too low but that was quickly resolved with a few tweaks in Control Panel on Windows 10. It does squeeze my head a little too much, even with the extensions all the way out, but overall, can't complain. Works fine with PlayStation as well. Definitely a good headset for those with a budget and looking for something high-quality and affordable.
