The box they came in was solid, and well designed, as well as almost entirely recyclable including the plastic bags (which were compostable). The first thing you will be greated with is firmware updates, and a mobile app installation. There are two USB dongles along with the set, so I had to make room on the XBox in order to plug both in for the updates. The firmware update seemed to go off without a hitch, but did take about 20 min in total. The non-XBox dongle isn't much use for us at this time, but it is a nice feature to seamlessly change your source. There were no issues connecting to the XBox at all, though I should have tested if connecting without the dongle would have been possible. You do get a charging cable, though it's not terribly long. The mobile app seems quite solid, no issues running it or anything. I'm not entirely sure how AI plays into how well the headphones are functioning, though this is a feature. I am going to assume that the combination of the app and AI will in some way future proof the pair though. I am not the primary user of these headphones, but my youngest is - mainly for XBox use though she seems to have started wearing them as 'every day' headphones for use with their iPhone. The one nice feature is the ability to connect bluetooth to your phone while also connected to your xbox. However, you have to plug the usb drive into your xbox for the headset to work. My previous turtle beach headset connected wireless to my xbox with no usb needed. If you're like me I already have all my usb ports filled with other devices, keyboard, external hard drive, etc... this is not a good feature. They are rather bulky and do fit okay. I found I was yelling into the microphone so my friends could hear me and the microphone sounds terrible. I listened to my audio after a stream and it sounded worse than my old headset. It's very staticky and they definitely could improve on that. They tried to put in mic noise cancellation but I found it would not catch everything I said because I was trying to talk in a normal voice. The volume control is set up so you can adjust volume for bluetooth separate from game and party volume, which is cool. The thing I don't like about the volume control when it comes to the game is that you have a slider to adjust which you hear more, the game volume or party volume. So you can either hear 70% game and 30% party or vice versa. I like to control each volume separate and have a volume dial for party and game chat. It was very confusing at first and I am not a fan of that. Overall, the sound quality on this headset is fantastic and if you're specifically looking for quality of sound they are great. If you're like me and want the best of both worlds, sound quality, volume control, and microphone quality you might want to look elsewhere.

Turtle Beach has out done themselves with this headset. I will admit the volume is not the loudest compared to other headsets I have used. However, it is plenty loud. It has a couple presets you can select as well for gaming that will enhance hearing. Like select a setting that will help hear footsteps better. There are a couple things that I will mention first. The charge cord is on the short side. I would have loved to see a longer cord so if you forget to charge, you can still plug in and charge with plenty of room and still enjoy gaming. The other issue is that wife and I would find it disconnect from the app on the phone and we would have to close the app and restart the app for it to re connect. This did not affect it being connected to the Bluetooth or dongle. So, you would still be able to hear your phone and game. It just meant you could not change any settings thru the app until you re connected. That said, what sets this apart from other headsets is that you can connect to the dongle and Bluetooth at the same time and listen to both. So, if you want to listen to podcasts, music etc. thru your phone and play a game, you are able to do so. Or maybe you want to use your phone for discord and play games on xbox. You can now do that. It also comes with 2 dongles so you can have one connected to xbox and then the other connected to a PC, playstation or another USB device and then switch between the dongles with a press of a button. One of my favorite futures that I prefer headsets to have is, being able to lift the mic up to mute. Not only does this allow to move the mic out of the way but also mute. Overall, these are a great option for console, but also PC as well especially if you want to listen to your phone at the same time you are gaming and still want to hear the game. Also, great if you have a couple USB devices that you will be using like an xbox and PC. No need to have to use different headsets.

These will be your only pair of headphones When you purchase these bad boys, lightweight headphones. I've had quite a few headphones in my day from playing games to watching TV with them or just listening to music. These Gen 3's are really really good for a mid cost headphone from Turtle beaches stealth 700s. The Gen 3's come with two USB sticks one for Xbox and one for your computer for so you can quickly move from one to the other. I had them playing at the same time just turn down up the one you wanted to listen to more. This right here is one of many reasons you need these headphones in your life today! Second reason if you needed one! Simultaneous wireless Bluetooth, for the record I didn't test if I could listen to music but it does work for answer calls while you are connected to the computer and the Xbox at the same time ALL 3! In my ear at the same time! I don't need to take off my headset and answer a call anymore, So nice to have that now! Third reason to get these, Turtle Beach is using AI to help with noise reduction and I got to say no one knew I was playing a game while they were talking to me through Bluetooth. On the game side, my friends heard me crystal clear and my voice never pixelated as it has done in the past. As a matter of fact I sold a pair just talking to my friends about these because I sounded so much better they knew I had a new pair of headphones on.

My gf had this headset for just over a year before I decided to buy my own. Solid headset compatible with our Xbox/pc set ups. Equalizers on App, mic monitoring and footsteps boosts were all reliable features while gaming. THE ONLY DRAWBACK my significant other and I discovered is when we got both headsets in a room they’ll connect to each other's dongle. Otherwise you won’t regret the purchase for yourself.

My boyfriend loved these and said they were the best gaming headphones he’s ever had. They are comfortable and the audio is unreal. They make the perfect gift and I would definitely recommend !

Another great product from turtle beach.I tried 2 other brands b4 going back to turtle beach.Gaming just sounds so much better.Works great with my Android tablet as well.And i like that it can be paired with phone to take calls while gaming.

Lots of connection issues. The sound quality is good when it works. Many times, i turn the headset on and get a buzz when they're is any audio. I have ro constantly unplug the part in the xbox and plug it back in. Ive tried adjusting it through the app, but the audio seems to always change and never stays adjusted. I was going to return for the Astros, but BestBuy said i was a few days past my return/exchange time. Not pleased but also not willing to spend more money to resolve.

First let me say that they are comfortable. That is all the positive. There are two volume rollers. In theory one is for the master volume, but in practical application, requires scrolling to the lowest end and then making microscopic adjustments to avoid ear rupture. Everytime. No sound settings are saved, second wheel sometimes increases mic moniter, sometimes chat volume. The application is of zero help aside from playing tag, you push to disable mic moniter, and it overrides you etc. It refuses to connect to my phone via bluetooth without a hard reset of the headset monthly. And worst of all, it somehow overrides xbox audio chat mixer settings, and wont let you set it via your device which is, of course utterly insane. I definitely will switch brands next go around.

The only reason I’m giving this 1 star is because I can’t give it a 0. I purchased this headset and it worked great and then I had to charge it. It charged correctly, but when it needed to be charged a second time, it would not charge or turn on. I exchanged the headset for another one and all parts were Dead On Arrival and would not turn on or charge fresh out of the box. Did another exchange and again everything in the box was DOA. When working, they are excellent, but after 1 defective and 2 DOA’s I decided to get a different headset. So, beware this headset and make sure you get a protection plan if you do decide to purchase it in case you run into the same problems.

wont charge after 20 days and TrashBuy wont exchange. 0 damage and after search it is a big problem with the 700 3g

Horrible, could not charge or turn after 10 days of usage, and the worst part is that Bestbuy would not even give me an exchange because I missed the return date by 2 days! I would give it 0 stars if it would let me. I will never buy anything from Bestbuy again!

This is my second pair of the headset, the first one I got were from Amazon and the sound good at first. But I like loud music so when I turn on the bass boost through the app and it starts making this static crinkling noise every time the beat drop, and it's only on a certain artist (Billie Eilish chihiro) and some other some as well
