Superb Audio and Mic. Customize with Mobile App
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Stealth Pro’s build quality is superb. It’s all black with some grey accents surrounding the earpieces and very thick foam cushions. In fact, they are the thickest I’ve seen on a gaming headset and I own several competitor’s flagship headsets. The headband also has adequate cushioning and is adjustable. The clamping force is strong out of the box but after a few days on my noggin it settled into place and is now quite comfortable. There is a volume control on the right hand earcup along with a button that turns ANC on/off which is remappable in software. There is a power button, a “SuperHuman Hearing” button, and a Bluetooth pairing/multifunction button under the right earcup. The USB-C port on the headset can only be used for charging or firmware updates and not audio. There are two versions, one for PS5, the other Xbox, both of which also work with PC/Mac and Bluetooth devices. I got the Xbox version but can confirm it also works just fine with PS5. However, if you buy the PS5 version it would not work with Xbox. Unless you know you’re never going to buy an Xbox I’m not sure why anyone would buy the PS5 version especially when there is no cost difference between the two. The Xbox version of the transmitter has a switch that allows you to change it from PS5/PC mode to Xbox. I wish the transmitter allowed for two USB inputs so I could use it for both my PS5 and Series X without physically swapping the USB cable as one of my other headsets does have this handy feature. Battery swapping works great: simply remove the cover and swap it out for the freshly charged one. Sound quality is extremely good, and in my opinion the best sound I’ve heard in a gaming headset. These are as close to audiophile as most gamers are likely going to get. The 50mm drivers certainly contribute to the experience. It’s easy to get lost in a good game with a great pair of headphones like these. The Superhuman Hearing I am not so sure of. I turn it on and can tell the sound has changed and there is a slider in the app to adjust its effect but I’m not sure if really helps at all or is just a gimmick. I left it off during most of my gameplay. A bonus feature that some of my other headsets can’t do is mix the audio from both the transmitter and Bluetooth so you can play a game and take a call or play other audio or video on your phone. ANC is just ok. It does a decent job of muting ambient noise but it does change the sound signature just enough to be a distraction for me. Others may not notice the difference at all. This headset was just released so I do hope that Turtle Beach can work on their algorithm and tweak the ANC in a firmware update. Being over ear with the thick ear cushions these do not let in a lot of outside sound anyway. The ANC can be adjusted between full ambience to full noise cancellation. The ambient mode is useful if you need to have a quick conversation, but the only way to change it is through the app or using the secondary function of the mode button. Even though the wheel is remappable you can only remap the secondary function, the primary function of the wheel is always volume. You hold the mode button for three seconds to adjust the secondary feature. The “TruSpeak” mic is very good. I played with a friend who also has the new Stealth Pro and the sound quality between us was the best I’ve heard on a console. It was the closest thing to playing in the same room with good separation of chat and game music. I could never hear him breathing which I could on the normal headset he used. I didn’t try a multiplayer game on PC but did some sound recording tests and came away impressed as well. The boom mic is removable and there are microphones on the headset itself but in my testing I found you will get the best quality with the boom attached. The mic can be muted by easily twisting the boom mic to the upright position. When you mute the headset the transmitter ring light will turn from green to red which is a nice touch. If you’re not using the boom mic you can mute by holding the Superhuman button for two seconds. The PC and mobile phone app provide a plethora of customizable features to dial it in such as ANC/Ambience, Superhuman Level, Game/Chat Mix, Treble/Bass/Vocal Boost, Noise Gate, Mic Sensitivity, Sidetone on/off/level. There is a separate equalizer for the Bluetooth, game, and mic audio as well as the ability to create up to 10 EQ presets. About the only thing missing from the PC software is game specific profiles. One thing I really like about the software implementation is that the mobile app can be used no matter what source the headset is connected to, meaning you can even adjust things while on PC without leaving your game or installing the PC app. This feature even works if you are connected to another Bluetooth device like while using the headset over Bluetooth with my Steam Deck I was still able to adjust settings with my phone. With the PC app you can also assign hot keys to toggle a few of the functions such as mute, Superhuman, ANC, and Mic monitoring. Pros: Comfortable Awesome Audio – 50mm Neodymium Drivers Xbox Version Also Works with PS5, PC and Bluetooth Devices Highly Customizable Extremely Clear Mic Mobile App controls any source including PC or Bluetooth Comes with extra swappable battery Side-tone Mic Monitoring Transmitter has easy to see LED ring - blinks red when muted Includes travel pouch and two USB-C cables Simultaneous Wireless and Bluetooth Audio Cons: ANC audio output needs some tweaking Wireless only - No analog or wired option Overall – I’ve collected many premium gaming headsets over the years and the new Turtle Beach Stealth Pro is up there with the best of them. ANC falls a little short for me but the excellent sound and mic quality make this worthy of a 4.5 out of 5 rating.

Noise cancelation is not as good as other headsets..i.e. Arctis 9x.. having to make presets an a app to toggle sound settings is for the birds. Takes to long...im sure id list more the longer i used, but i took them back on the 3rd day of use

Amazing All-in-One
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high hopes for this headset after the rocky start with the Stealth 700 Gen 2. There were so many problems with the device itself not working or the app just refusing to pair or work since the moment I opened the box. It took I believe over a year to get most of the kinks ironed out, yet to this day I still have occasional issues getting it to turn on. I first connected the Stealth Pro to my PC to check for updates (there were none), then to my phone via bluetooth to test out the app, and finally the transmitter to my Xbox Series X. I had no issues doing so, so it's already more reliable out of the box than the 700 Gen 2 ever really was. I played with all the settings in the app and customized things to how I like it and was playing one of my games in no time. Promising, indeed. Then things only got better from there. Personally, I found the Stealth Pro very comfortable, even for long periods. It has the smallest profile of any of the previous 3 Turtle Beach's I've had. I have a smaller head so it suits me better than any of those did. The shape just feels a lot more ergonomic. While it's adjustable like you would expect, I could see this posing a potential issue for some with larger heads. The cushions are definitely the softest I've used, too. I really love the dual battery packs and built in charging station in the transmitter. It fits perfectly inside the cup in my headset stand. The magnetic cover conceals the batteries nicely and makes switching them out quick and easy. The only design issue I found was with the ergonomics of the buttons. I find that they are slightly awkward to find and press while wearing. They require a bit of a firm press while holding the earpiece still which I found easier to do by quickly taking the headset off. Additionally, all three flat, rubber buttons (bluetooth, power, superhuman hearing) feel similar, even with the slightly bumpy texture of the superhuman hearing button which is meant to help with this. It could have helped to have done more to make them feel different so you could find the button you want by feel without looking. This is really minor, though. I've never been much of an audiophile but the sound quality of the Stealth Pro has definitely pushed me into caring more. I think the sound quality is phenomenal, especially when I was listening to music on my PC. It creates a really immersive listening experience when paired with the incredible noise cancelling. Gaming is just as amazing. The bass and treble are strong, amplifying sound effects distinctly. They worked great for the couple of FPS I played. Of course if any of it is too much (or too little), like previous headsets, all the usual customization options are here and then some. If several of the presets don't suit you, you can create your own including an equalizer for your music for those who know what they're doing there. As for chat, I was told I sounded crystal clear on both microphones while both gaming and during a phone call. A great thing about this headset is its multi-platform nature. It's perfect for all in one use besides gaming which several features come in handy for. It has a built-in microphone for calls so you don't need to use the mic boom. You can set the wheel and the custom button functions separately for both the Xbox and computer, which save based on which device you're connected to. It even came with a super soft travel bag so you can take it on the go to use for whatever. Considering all it can do, reliability was a must. Like I mentioned in the beginning, this was the thing I was most worried about. Other than one time, the bluetooth connected to my Series X, PC and phone without problems, as well as switching between them with ease. As for that one time, after switching a battery, I couldn't connect with the app. The headset was paired fine both with my phone and the Xbox still, though. Unplugging the transmitter and turning off the headset again finally got it to connect. It seemed like a bug with the app, but fortunately it only happened once as I could not replicate the problem. I couldn't be more impressed with the Stealth Pro. I really love nearly everything about this thing.

Great Gaming Option
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Turtle Beach Stealth Pro is a superb gaming headset for Xbox or PC. Setup was very simple plug the wireless receiver into Xbox or PC, power on headset and off you go. The Companion Turtle Beach app on PC was great for customization of the headset. It did come with the most recent firmware which was always welcome. I love that it comes with two batteries with easy hot swapping inside one of the earcups, the batteries last a long time as well. There is also an attachable mic for improved voice comms but if you prefer the headset also comes with a built in mic for casual chatting. I myself, prefer the detachable mic for crisp clear voice comms. Overall very happy with the ease of us of this headset on Xbox and PC (not at the same time) and the ability to sync multiple bluetooth devices as well. The app will also let you customize what the side buttons do as well. The only negatives I had is the boot up of the headset feels a tad slow and just when you think you are ready to go then you have the built in robot voice commenting on your battery life, which is configurable in the app. I normally like alot of sidetone in my gaming headsets but I had to disable it with this because for some reason it sounds very un natural and robotic, not a deal breaker but noticeable. Overall quite satisfied with the headset comfort and performance for the price tag, would recommend.

Pro is a little amateur
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long time gamer here across multiple systems for many decades and have used roughly a dozen different headsets over the years, primarily my favorite from Turtle Beach, the Stealth Pro 600. Out of the box, this was a premium display with great packaging, easy to get going, comes with the necessary attachments and a fancy, silk satin carrying case. The case itself isn’t overly necessary unless you plan to double these as both a gaming headset and a normal pair of headphones you’d be carrying around town, to the gym, etc. This product has a companion app which is always a pet peeve of mine as not everything should need to be tied to yet another app in the phone, but with something like a premium headset it kind of becomes necessary so I won’t dock them points for this. The one thing that I don’t love is that it needs a physical transmitter to connect to the Xbox, taking up valuable USB space (especially for those with multiple external hard drives). Not sure why such a high end headset would need a transmitter but I’m sure the argument is that it sounds nicer, though I doubt most of the public would ever know the difference. The device has two rechargeable battery packs that are included, which plug in to the earpiece of the headset one at a time. They seemingly arrive charged but it’s very hard to tell. The battery was one of the biggest pros for me as they provide a very long amount of play time. I’ve put in a good week of gaming and the battery is still at 50% after easily 10-15 hours of play. The microphone is easily detachable and plugs into the left side of the headset, with the typical “flip up to mute” function that most headsets use. Two downsides of this, is that the mic can only go on the left side of your face, you aren’t able to rotate it to be able to be dual sided, and the mic AUX hole has a very small piece of plastic to cover itself if you plan to use this for other things besides gaming (like going to the gym for example). I’d bet that most folks will loose the little plastic piece quite quickly, making the hole exposed, and suspect to get plenty of dust or junk in there pretty quickly, depending on use, which could compromise the quality of the mic. The headset can adjust like most to different head sizes. It is quite sturdy but also really heavy, probably the heaviest headset that I’ve ever used, which I don’t love. Additionally the ear cups are a faux leather type which don’t allow for great air movement so you can bet on a warm head/ears during marathon gaming. The right ear has multiple controls on it such as a wheel to control the volume, a power button, Bluetooth connection button, and an additional button for “superhuman hearing” which tends to add more bite to high tone sounds like gunfire or steps. The wheel is helpful and easy to use though the material is matte so it easily picks up fingerprints/grease. The other three buttons are surprisingly in an awkward position as they’re more towards the front part of the mic, yet curved under the ear so it never feels natural to hit them. Additionally, all the buttons are the same size and the power/Bluetooth buttons have the same texture so I find myself always hitting the wrong button. Maybe I’ll get used to it but the Bluetooth button should never be prominent more next to every button as these should be designed to be triggered while gaming, not taking your headset off to verify. A pro is that the “superhuman” button is a different texture so that sticks out more but then begs the question of why the other two buttons are the same texture as they become indistinguishable. Goofy design either way, As for both incoming and outgoing sound, this seems to get a thumbs up. Pretty much from the gate my friends had no issues hearing me, and I had no issues hearing them or game sounds. One friend described it as “we can certainly tell you’re wearing a headset” and that I sounded a little distant but nothing that was hugely negative, not positive. The most baffling part of all of this though is the app integration. The app is designed to let you change many audio settings, which is fine. Big problem though as the settings are vague, don’t seem to do much, and you can’t save them. Incredible thumbs down and the main reason this is only 3 stars. When you open the app, no signup is needed which is nice, it can pair to your phone and headset via Bluetooth without issue. The first hurdle is that because it has to use your phones bluetooth to connect to the app, if you’re in between games and decide to check Twitter for example, the phone noise plays through your headset while the game noise is still occurring. Only way to prevent that is to keep turning off Bluetooth on your phone or muting your phone sounds any time you want to watch videos while gaming. Very frustrating. The app gives a series of options like “noise gate” or “legacy” presets without ever explaining what they are. Everything else I’ve figured out through trial and error on my own like “monitor volume” is how much you can hear yourself talk during chat, which is great, I’m glad it’s an option but having some clarity on what it means as I try to sort it out on my own would’ve been helpful. The noise cancelling doesn’t seem to work great either way as I had my girlfriend stand across the room and talk normally while it was on and it was nearly the same as when it was off. Ultimately we found that besides the chat/game mix or the mic monitoring, most options in the app really didn’t change much about what I heard or how I sounded to those I was in game chats with. Easily the most frustrating part is every time I’m done for the down, power down my headset, and move on, when I come back to game again I have to change any settings in the app again. It’s incredibly poorly designed. There’s seemingly an advanced setting that you can save but it’s very nondescript and unless you’re an audio engineer, I’d doubt you have any clue what is going on. All said, it’s a fairly well designed, heavy duty headset that you’d get the most out of if using it for not only gaming but every day use as well with pretty good audio quality. The tough part is between the heavy headset, button layout, and insane app that can’t keep basic settings, you’re left with a lot of frustrations. Overall, I won’t say that I don’t recommend this but I highly recommend giving it a lot of thought.

Exceptional headset boasting quality and comfort
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Turtle Beach is synonymous for the highest quality headsets out there, and their latest offering will take your Xbox experience to the next level. The Stealth Pro for Xbox is loaded with features designed for comfort, style, and uninterrupted gameplay. Gamers everywhere need look no further. From the sleek device construction to the sensible yet elegant box design, the Ear Force Stealth Pro feels meticulously crafted for this generation of gamer. The headset comes neatly packaged with a wireless transmitter (that couples as a battery charger), an extra battery, removable mic, carrying pouch, and a few cables. Picking it up, you can immediately feel the expert craftsmanship: the soft, engulfing ear cushions; the thin, extendable metal headband; the responsive, easily navigable buttons. It feels very durable and doesn't really bother or irritate the top of your head or the ear area, vital for long gaming sessions. Syncing up to your Xbox is easy. Simply set the transmitter to "Xbox mode," hold down a button on the headset, and confirm a successful pair with the solid green LED from the transmitter. From there, you're good to go for as long as you need to go. The batteries run for 12 hours, one of which charges on the transmitter and is easily swappable on the headset - no unscrewing necessary as the battery cover is magnetically attached. The sound from the Stealth Pro is booming, with clear, captivating audio so immersive that you won't miss a thing. The headset wheel is smooth and quick to adjust volume and EQ levels. Click the mode button to activate an impressive noise cancellation feature that will block out distractions and let you hone in on your game like never before. Finally, these buttons are fully mappable and can be customized to your specific style and needs. While the Stealth Pro is a clear winner for your Xbox gaming experience, the features don't stop there, as this headset is compatible with Playstation, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac. You can listen to music while gaming, or make phone calls as needed if connected to your mobile device via Bluetooth. In-game chat quality and video chat audio is clear, making this headset a true do-it-all device. The Turtle Beach Stealth Pro is a must-have headset for the serious gamer and is highly recommended.
