Pro is a little amateur
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long time gamer here across multiple systems for many decades and have used roughly a dozen different headsets over the years, primarily my favorite from Turtle Beach, the Stealth Pro 600. Out of the box, this was a premium display with great packaging, easy to get going, comes with the necessary attachments and a fancy, silk satin carrying case. The case itself isn’t overly necessary unless you plan to double these as both a gaming headset and a normal pair of headphones you’d be carrying around town, to the gym, etc. This product has a companion app which is always a pet peeve of mine as not everything should need to be tied to yet another app in the phone, but with something like a premium headset it kind of becomes necessary so I won’t dock them points for this. The one thing that I don’t love is that it needs a physical transmitter to connect to the Xbox, taking up valuable USB space (especially for those with multiple external hard drives). Not sure why such a high end headset would need a transmitter but I’m sure the argument is that it sounds nicer, though I doubt most of the public would ever know the difference. The device has two rechargeable battery packs that are included, which plug in to the earpiece of the headset one at a time. They seemingly arrive charged but it’s very hard to tell. The battery was one of the biggest pros for me as they provide a very long amount of play time. I’ve put in a good week of gaming and the battery is still at 50% after easily 10-15 hours of play. The microphone is easily detachable and plugs into the left side of the headset, with the typical “flip up to mute” function that most headsets use. Two downsides of this, is that the mic can only go on the left side of your face, you aren’t able to rotate it to be able to be dual sided, and the mic AUX hole has a very small piece of plastic to cover itself if you plan to use this for other things besides gaming (like going to the gym for example). I’d bet that most folks will loose the little plastic piece quite quickly, making the hole exposed, and suspect to get plenty of dust or junk in there pretty quickly, depending on use, which could compromise the quality of the mic. The headset can adjust like most to different head sizes. It is quite sturdy but also really heavy, probably the heaviest headset that I’ve ever used, which I don’t love. Additionally the ear cups are a faux leather type which don’t allow for great air movement so you can bet on a warm head/ears during marathon gaming. The right ear has multiple controls on it such as a wheel to control the volume, a power button, Bluetooth connection button, and an additional button for “superhuman hearing” which tends to add more bite to high tone sounds like gunfire or steps. The wheel is helpful and easy to use though the material is matte so it easily picks up fingerprints/grease. The other three buttons are surprisingly in an awkward position as they’re more towards the front part of the mic, yet curved under the ear so it never feels natural to hit them. Additionally, all the buttons are the same size and the power/Bluetooth buttons have the same texture so I find myself always hitting the wrong button. Maybe I’ll get used to it but the Bluetooth button should never be prominent more next to every button as these should be designed to be triggered while gaming, not taking your headset off to verify. A pro is that the “superhuman” button is a different texture so that sticks out more but then begs the question of why the other two buttons are the same texture as they become indistinguishable. Goofy design either way, As for both incoming and outgoing sound, this seems to get a thumbs up. Pretty much from the gate my friends had no issues hearing me, and I had no issues hearing them or game sounds. One friend described it as “we can certainly tell you’re wearing a headset” and that I sounded a little distant but nothing that was hugely negative, not positive. The most baffling part of all of this though is the app integration. The app is designed to let you change many audio settings, which is fine. Big problem though as the settings are vague, don’t seem to do much, and you can’t save them. Incredible thumbs down and the main reason this is only 3 stars. When you open the app, no signup is needed which is nice, it can pair to your phone and headset via Bluetooth without issue. The first hurdle is that because it has to use your phones bluetooth to connect to the app, if you’re in between games and decide to check Twitter for example, the phone noise plays through your headset while the game noise is still occurring. Only way to prevent that is to keep turning off Bluetooth on your phone or muting your phone sounds any time you want to watch videos while gaming. Very frustrating. The app gives a series of options like “noise gate” or “legacy” presets without ever explaining what they are. Everything else I’ve figured out through trial and error on my own like “monitor volume” is how much you can hear yourself talk during chat, which is great, I’m glad it’s an option but having some clarity on what it means as I try to sort it out on my own would’ve been helpful. The noise cancelling doesn’t seem to work great either way as I had my girlfriend stand across the room and talk normally while it was on and it was nearly the same as when it was off. Ultimately we found that besides the chat/game mix or the mic monitoring, most options in the app really didn’t change much about what I heard or how I sounded to those I was in game chats with. Easily the most frustrating part is every time I’m done for the down, power down my headset, and move on, when I come back to game again I have to change any settings in the app again. It’s incredibly poorly designed. There’s seemingly an advanced setting that you can save but it’s very nondescript and unless you’re an audio engineer, I’d doubt you have any clue what is going on. All said, it’s a fairly well designed, heavy duty headset that you’d get the most out of if using it for not only gaming but every day use as well with pretty good audio quality. The tough part is between the heavy headset, button layout, and insane app that can’t keep basic settings, you’re left with a lot of frustrations. Overall, I won’t say that I don’t recommend this but I highly recommend giving it a lot of thought.

Exceptional headset boasting quality and comfort
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Turtle Beach is synonymous for the highest quality headsets out there, and their latest offering will take your Xbox experience to the next level. The Stealth Pro for Xbox is loaded with features designed for comfort, style, and uninterrupted gameplay. Gamers everywhere need look no further. From the sleek device construction to the sensible yet elegant box design, the Ear Force Stealth Pro feels meticulously crafted for this generation of gamer. The headset comes neatly packaged with a wireless transmitter (that couples as a battery charger), an extra battery, removable mic, carrying pouch, and a few cables. Picking it up, you can immediately feel the expert craftsmanship: the soft, engulfing ear cushions; the thin, extendable metal headband; the responsive, easily navigable buttons. It feels very durable and doesn't really bother or irritate the top of your head or the ear area, vital for long gaming sessions. Syncing up to your Xbox is easy. Simply set the transmitter to "Xbox mode," hold down a button on the headset, and confirm a successful pair with the solid green LED from the transmitter. From there, you're good to go for as long as you need to go. The batteries run for 12 hours, one of which charges on the transmitter and is easily swappable on the headset - no unscrewing necessary as the battery cover is magnetically attached. The sound from the Stealth Pro is booming, with clear, captivating audio so immersive that you won't miss a thing. The headset wheel is smooth and quick to adjust volume and EQ levels. Click the mode button to activate an impressive noise cancellation feature that will block out distractions and let you hone in on your game like never before. Finally, these buttons are fully mappable and can be customized to your specific style and needs. While the Stealth Pro is a clear winner for your Xbox gaming experience, the features don't stop there, as this headset is compatible with Playstation, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac. You can listen to music while gaming, or make phone calls as needed if connected to your mobile device via Bluetooth. In-game chat quality and video chat audio is clear, making this headset a true do-it-all device. The Turtle Beach Stealth Pro is a must-have headset for the serious gamer and is highly recommended.

Doesn't work with PS5
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's supposed to work with all formays but that's not true. The Xbox versions says it works with Playstation. Not so. When trying to hook it up via Bluetooth it says that PS5 does NOT support this accessory. Very disappointed. Posted .Thanks for reaching out to us!
While we appreciate your feedback, please know that the Stealth Pro for Xbox is fully compatible with the PlayStation 5 console. From the description you provided, there may be some confusion as it appears you are attempting to pair the headset directly to your console via Bluetooth. The headset's Bluetooth functionality would only be used to pair the headset to mobile devices.
Please take the time to ensure you are performing the proper pairing process between the headset and its USB transmitter. This would not involve the use of the headset's Bluetooth button.
With the headset powered on and the headset's transmitter switched to PC mode & connected to your PS console; simply hold the headset's power button down for 2 seconds. The headset should enter pairing mode to pair with its transmitter. When pairing is complete, the headset's LED will turn green as will the LED on the transmitter.
If you have followed this process and continue to have the same experience, please take the time to reach out directly to our dedicated Support Team so they can assist you further with your set up. That team can be reached directly via their form on the Turtle Beach website.
Thank you kindly and have a great day!

Nice upgrade from their 700 series
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice set of gaming headphones! Inside, you'll find the headphones themselves, two USB cables (one longer...about 6', one shorter...about 3'), your base receiver that plugs into your system and acts like a hub that also charges your spare battery, two batteries (one pre-installed in the headset and the other, going into the base) and finally, your microphone, as well as a travel bag that everything can go in. Getting started I put the headphones on the USB-C to charge them up. While that was going on, I plugged the receiver into the back of the XBOX. After the headphones charged up (only a couple hours) I turned on the XBOX, the receiver fired right up with it, blinking a green ring around middle letting you know that they are trying to pair. The button layout on the headphone are different so it took me a second to find the power button. I took too long and they would not pair up. So, I rebooted the XBOX and they connected right away. I did have to update the app on my phone to the newest firmware. Sound is great, a little louder than the 700s which means I had to turn them down a tad. I like all the settings that you can adjust and I ended up on bass and treble boost. Picking up sounds around is much easier than the 700s, which is no small feat. I feel like the clarity is better on the Stealth pro, as well. Clarity of the chat and mic is very nice, no complaints on either side of the bill here. When you mute the headset by flipping up the adjustable mic, there is a red ring that flashes around receiver. This is kinda annoying at first but you get used to it. I have a XBOX logo display and I just moved it over in front of the receiver. Comfort is very nice. No fatigue so far, however, I am not a fan of the pleather ear cups. I prefer the fabric on the the 700s. But, that is a minor grievance. I am still really enjoying these headphones and I will probably flip back and forth between the two headsets. I do enjoy that the 700s connect directly to the XBOX so that would free up an USB port on the back, but, no biggie. Great all around product! Nice job Turtle Beach!

Excellent Choice for Gaming!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Turtle Beach Stealth Pro Multiplatform Wireless Noise-Cancelling Gaming Headset is definitely one of the best headphone sets on the market right now (as of April, 2023). I found the quality of audio and wireless Bluetooth 5.1 support really shines and using it on my Xbox or Playstation was a very pleasant experience. Players on the receiving end could tell the difference in audio quality as well and often inquired what headset I was using. The headset also features really fine-tuned Active Noise Cancellation where you can "experience the most versatile, competitively benchmarked noise cancellation ever available in a gaming headset with noise reduction levels up to 25dB". Another impressive feature is its 4 internal noise-cancelling microphones which tune out distractions or "accentuate ambient sounds for nearly full noise transparency". I highly recommend downloading the Turtle Beach Audio Hub App, it will help you access all the special features, adjust your noise canceling preferences and do a lot more. App-based Audio Customization works flawless also if you download it on your PC or Mac so you can assign hot keys on your desktop as well as program the mappable wheel. Another plus - these headset have swappable rechargeable battery! Good thinking Turtle Beach! The design and build of the headset is also superb. I was very pleasantly surprised how comfortable the headphones were! They never "weighed" me down so I did not have to re-adjust them or take them off to take a break. I highly recommend this set to anyone who is a serious gamer or if you need to use a headset for a prolonged period of times. These were definitely created with the thought of innovation, packed with very cool and useful features and sound awesome!

This headset brings the game to you!!!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Turtle Beach nailed it this time. The Stealth Pro noise-canceling headset for Xbox is really on point. Important to note it also works with PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC MAC, as well as mobile phones. But let me tell you, when you first join an online game, and you hear the great background sounds that you wouldn't usually hear just with the TV speakers or surround sound, The sounds in the background that I never noticed before blew me away. I'm in the game, and you hear all the jungle sound effects clearly and have an immersive mode that makes it even more dynamic. The setup was effortless right out of the box. The 2.4GHZ wireless transmitter allows for better mobility around the room and the house. And it also comes with dual mics, so in those heated online games, you come through very clearly for trash-talking. Still trying to figure out the range, but I walked into the kitchen to get a drink, and it stayed connected. The headset is very sturdy and constructed well, with thick ear cushions and a metal headband that should last a lifetime. It has a two-battery recharging system that charges right on the transmitter, keeping you in the game longer. The buttons are easy to use while wearing the headset. And the removable boom adds another option for the gamer. I said before that the Bluetooth function will work with many other devices you currently own. If you're a gamer, this is one to check out.

Good quality headset with features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've tried my fair share of headphones over the years. I'm not an a huge audiophile or anything but I like headphones that sound nice. This pair offers some pretty nice features with some pretty decent sound. Setup is easy enough that you can just swap devices without even using the bluetooth mode. Since my xbox has a front facing USB and so does my PC, it's as easy flipping a switch on the little transceiver/charging puck to PC or Xbox and then plugging into the device you want to use them with. They pair automatically in a handful of seconds and you're off to the races. There's also a bluetooth mode if you want to use the headset with your phone or another device that supports bluetooth but doesn't have USB. Up and running in no time no matter what device you want to use it on. One thing I'm not positive on is if you can update the firmware on the headset if you don't have a PC. It looked to me like the software to connect to the headset was only available on PC. That software also allows you to do a lot of other things like adjust EQ settings to your liking. You can also redefine the button on the side to do other things when you press or press and hold. There's a mode that can switch the volume wheel to a game/chat ratio wheel if you need to turn up your team chat and turn down the game. I wasn't blown away by anything but everything available to configure was nice to have. The sound quality is good enough for me. As stated, I'm no audiophile or anything but I've used a lot of headsets and these sound good. Decent bass but nothing crazy. Good sound stage though. Watching a movie or playing a game on either PC or Xbox both sounded really good and it was nice to ditch the wire since I use a wired pair of headphones for a lot of my gaming as a streamer who needs a latency-free sound in my ear. I'll probably end up using these when I'm not streaming though. If I had to complain about something sound-wise, it would probably be the volume. Max volume doesn't sound quiet at all, but it's almost like it's trying to protect my ears and it's just a little quieter than I'd probably want it at max volume. Maybe I'm just getting old. One caveat I'd love to put here is I did experience the occasional hitch or staticy noise for a second here and there. I don't totally blame the headset though. In my home, there's a LOT of 2.4Ghz from devices in my house and the neighbors. This headset was a champ over 99% of the time but I definitely did hear some breaks when interference took hold. This was with the puck about a foot from my head so I don't think there's much else I could have done to improve it. Again, though, not a deal breaker for me but if you have a lot of 2.4Ghz interference at your place, you might have some minor issues as well. I didn't put the microphone through it's paces since I have more than one expensive XLR microphones that I would definitely use before this. It has a passable sound and will probably work great if you just need coms for your buddies. I wouldn't stream with it at this point but if I was just starting out, I'd probably use it just fine. There's also a built in microphone for when you don't have the detachable one attached which I did not test. It's mentioned that it's made for taking a quick call via bluetooth and such so I wouldn't use it in game or anything. The other nice thing about the detachable mic if that there's a rubber cover for the socket! First time I've seen headphones not just leave a gaping hole in the side of a microphone when you never use the detachable mic. Noise canceling was great for me. It does a good job of canceling out the ambient noise without canceling out everything. Pressing the big button on the side to activate and deactivate completely kills the air conditioner noise that's about 6 feet from my desk. It's night and day. But even with such a good cancellation on that, I can still hear if my child is crying upstairs so it doesn't block you from the world, it just gets rid of the ambient sounds really well. Comfort is alright for me. I thought there was just a little bit too much pressure squeezing into my head but it wasn't really bad. It's very possible it's necessary for the noise canceling to keep a good seal on the cups. I never felt it was painful or anything just felt the pressure more than other headphones I've used. The cups are either perfectly sized or just a smidge too small. I don't really feel them touching my ears when I have them on my head and situated correctly but they do feel really close. I do like that the cups are angled in such a way that tilts the headband towards the front of your head. I felt like it distributed the weight pretty nice that way. At no point did I feel pain or real discomfort while using these. Aside from the build quality being very good, one thing I didn't love was how a lot of the buttons felt. the 3 buttons under the right cup feel OK to press when I'm holding the headset but finding and pressing them while it's on my head wasn't the best experience. Definitely not a deal breaker there. One thing I really wish was different is the volume wheel. The entire side of the right cup is a old school iPhone style rotating wheel. I could get behind this if it felt good to move while wearing the headphones but it does not. It's rigid and not very smooth. I'll probably just leave volume control to my PC and suffer through it when using them on Xbox. I almost forgot the things that surprised me the most when I opened the box. I saw the puck transceiver with a battery attached to it already so in this day and age and in this economy, I just expected that to be the battery that I was going to use. Then I opened up the side of the headset and saw ANOTHER BATTERY. This thing has 2 batteries so you can leave one to charge while you're playing and as soon as that one dies, you just swap in the charged one and keep going. You have pretty much all the convenience of playing with the charging cable attached to the headset but without the wire! I'll definitely use this when I'm not streaming and grow to love to freedom of my wireless life that I've been missing on streams. All said, these are a decent set of headphones if you're looking for something versatile with a nice sound and you have the budget for this pair, it might be a good call. I'll probably be using these for my day to day, off-stream needs where I don't need to hear my voice from an external microphone without latency. I like them.

Great Gaming Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Turtle Beach wireless gaming headset is pretty much the proverbial "cats meow". If cats gamed with a wireless headset. Seriously, the sound quality generated by this pair of cans punches well above it's weight (cost) class. I'd expect a headset with this good of sound to cost twice as much. The noise cancellation is second to none and borders on the best I've experienced. And I've used a lot of noise conciliating headphones. The microphone is incredible at isolating just yourself when speaking during a game, even in noisy environments! The Bluetooth connection remained solid throughout use with no issues. Turtle Beach thoughtfully includes a second battery so if you're in the middle of a gaming session it only takes you less than 30 second to swap out and then get back to gaming. Build quality is well above average and it does not feel too heavy or uncomfortable after prolonged use. I have a larger head and I was able to wear this headset for a few hours non-stop with no issues at all. It says designed for Xbox but I can report it works equally as well on a Mac, PC, or even an AppleTV! Do yourself a favor and buy this. You can thank me later.

Great Sounding Headset Overall and Multiplatform
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is up there among the best headsets available that I have tried. This is especially true if you are looking for a single headset that works on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC and don’t want to have separate headsets for each. First and most importantly is the impeccable sound quality. The sound is crystal clear, sharp, and even for the entire frequency range. I was hearing things very clearly that I had not heard before in some of the games I was playing. I did have to turn up the bass on the EQ to get enough bass both that is simple using their app. They promote a feature called Superhuman Hearing but I didn’t find that it did much or was even necessary. This can also be easily turned on and off through the app. There is an EQ that allows changing the different frequency bands manually that works well and has several presets. The headset has both internal mics and a detachable boom mic, both of which sound clear based on feedback from my gaming friends. The build quality is very high. The materials feel well made, the headset is heavy, but not too heavy to wear and very comfortable, and just feels overall very well made and not cheap or budget. The headset has active noise canceling and while it worked decently, this had some strange behavior. When turned on, it blocked some of the background sound, but mixed in some of the sound from the mic so you still heard some ambient sound through the headset drivers. I guess the idea is that it will block the background noise, but you can still hear sounds like voices in the room or when your spouse is calling you to dinner, but it still allows too much background noise through. You have the option of disabling the mic and this solved it and blocked almost all the background noise, of course at the expense of being able to use the mic. I turned on a fan in the background and with ANC on and the mic on, I was able to hear the fan through the headphone drivers. Turning off the mic made the fan mostly undetectable. While the ANC worked well with the mic off, it is not as good as the ANC you will find in high end headphones. There is a dial on the headset and a button that is programmable to different functions using the app. The dial defaults to the volume control and I’m not sure why you would want it to do anything else. Given the different things that the dial and button can be programmed to do, I wish there were a couple of dials and buttons that could be programmed but you are limited to one of each and other changes need to be made through the app. There is an audio hub app and Windows audio hub program that allow you to change settings on the headset such as EQ, turn certain sound options such as ANC and Superhuman Hearing on and off, and assign functions to the button and dial. I had no problems using the app but the Windows program would only work if the transmitter pod was connected to the computer and the headset communicated through the transmitter. Connecting the headset directly to the computer over USB or Bluetooth did not allow the Windows audio hub program to run. This is a bit of a nuisance if the transmitter is connected to your console but want to use the audio hub program on the computer. This seems like an unnecessary limitation, but the audio hub app does not have this limitation and is fine for this. It comes with two removable batteries which is great, so you never have to worry about running out of battery during a gaming session. I also assume you can purchase new batteries when they finally reach the end of their life instead of having to toss out the headphones. I have both my Xbox and PlayStation consoles set to not use external audio when a headset is connected. Unfortunately, if the transmitter is connected to the console, even if the headset is turned off, the console interprets that as a headset being connected and turns off the external sound. If you want to use the room speakers, you must disconnect the transmitter’s USB. It would be nice if the room speakers worked when the transmitter was connected to the console, but the headset is turned off. Other headsets I have used work this way. Definitely a great sounding headset that I can highly recommend and will be my go-to ones from now on, and the multiplatform compatibility is icing on the cake.

Amazing piece of gear!

They are heaver than the blackshark v2 but they sit nicely on the head and don't easily lose the adjustment on the headband once you get it where you want it. Quick start guide is easy to follow and in moments I had it working for both my PS5 and Switch. Pro tip: get the Xbox version if you're multiplatform even if you don't have an Xbox. It works more smoothly with Switch especially. Sound is immersive and crystal clear, even if you just use it for music on your PC. All told this is well worth the money!

Loving it!

Been watching youtube tv and wasnt too happy with it. Upgraded to the stealth pro and its great. I was torn between this or the Arctis Nova Pro but went for this one and i am glad i did. For gaming its awesome and for tv its great too. Dolby atmos sounds great. Everything is crystal clear and its comfortable for long periods of time even with glasses on. Only complaint is the three buttons are a little difficult to use but not a big deal. Listening to music from phone connection bluetooth and mixing it with xbox gameplay is phenomenal. 9/10 would recommend this headset.

Longest lasting and sounding headset

I didn't want something that would die mid-gaming session and required a battery backup. Money wasn't an object either so I opted for these. I had a turtle beach headset for my 360 and those had great sound. These pair with my PC and PS5 and I left these powered on for 12 hours last night without using sound....only 25% of the battery was used! They are a little tight and the vinyl isn't the most comfortable but these have amazing sound and NC.
