Outside contractor Installation was poor.

The one delivered to ormond beach used an outside contractor snd he did a great job. All wires wrapped and neat. The outside contractors that delivered to Longwood did not do a good job. They unhooked my old tv. They took the new one out of the box, set it on the table snd hooked up the wires that were there. They didn’t wrap or try to straighten out the mess of wires. They didn’t even pull the cabinet out from the wall to untangle wires from the past. I was spoiled by the first installation but could have done a better job myself on the second installation. I could not recommend these guys to anyone. Geek squad needs to look at who they are sending out

No service from Geek Squad

It would have been better if I had this info. prior to paying for the service. I thought it would be easier for me to get the geek squad to do this, I paid for nothing I couldn't done myself. They did nothing.

But NO! now I have to spend more money to get the Geek squad out. A lot of money for delivery and hook up a few cables.

Over promised and way under delivered
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have worked with service reps from many companies over decades of being a homeowner, ranging from AT&T to Spectrum and by comparison the particular rep sent to do the installation of my new home theater components must rank at the bottom of the list. He did deliver the TV and lift it on to the cabinet so I would not have to, otherwise he did very little right. I bought the components for a home theater system, other than the speakers, and he was to place the components, hook up the wires and cables, and take away the old TV. I presumed that he would not leave until everything worked properly, that was the underlying reason for having BB do the install. Apparently that was asking too much. The first comment he made upon entering the room where he was to do the work was that my old TV was too big for him to haul away. When I advised him that it was within the size limits set by BB he responded "well, we'll see." For a TV installation tech, his knowledge of his craft was sorely lacking. He clearly was not at all familiar with the specific requirements of the equipment he was being called on to install. For example he did not hook up the HDMI cable to the ARC connection because he said my new receiver did not support ARC. That was wrong. He did get the speaker wire connections right, but he could not figure out how to get the speakers to activate because he did not have the HDMI cable connection right. When I tried to help troubleshoot by reading the manual and pointing out possible solutions he became indignant, as though I was questioning his competence (which was not my intent), I was merely trying to get my new system to work. From that point on he rushed through the software menus, looking for solutions, explaining nothing and accomplishing nothing. He left without getting the audio working and made up an explanation saying that the set-top box from my cable provider was to blame. Clearly that was a fabrication, for as I later figured out, I needed to reconnect the HDMI cable to the ARC connector, and then separately set the volume levels for each of the speakers. There is also a Auto configuration and testing routine that my receiver has, which he completely ignored, probably because he was unaware of its existence. I could go on, but the basic picture is this, the installation tech was the most poorly trained and least knowledgeable technician I have ever come across. Not sure who is to blame, the company which is supposed to train its techs, or the technician. Overall this was a futile waste of money. You would think that a company which advertises and holds itself out as having the expertise about all things technological, especially in consumer electronics, would have personnel who'd have some modest degree of competence; apparently not so. In the end I redid all of the connections myself, and set up the system so that it works. As I learn more about my equipment I expect that I will get it to work even better, but for now it works quite well and infinitely better than when the BB tech left my house.

Easier than setting up a new TV myself

One of the guys was just super, friendly, helpful and very hard-working. The other one was leaving on vacation the next day and he should have left one day earlier. He did not keep us posted on what he was doing, seemed not there most of the time. But one out of two is not bad, I guess.

Second tv, Bed Buy sent someone who wasn’t an installer. He said he would try anyway and he did a good job. Two tvs because first died after a week. Quick replacement.
