    Disastrous TV install

    The delivery and setup were a disappointment. First, the installers showed up to install my TV and realized they had installed my TV at their previous appointment. Second, I was told by the salesman that by paying for the complete installation the installers would be able to connect the new TV to my receiver. Well, that just was not true. The installers were incapable of completing the installation and I had to contact the vendor I purchased my receiver from to have them complete the installation for me. Very disappointed in the service I paid extra for and did not recieve.

    Best Buy delivery system is a joke!

    Bought an 82 inch TV with the geek squad and other options. A week later the delivery day came and went. No call no information and no delivery. Finally 3 days later and at least 10 phone calls I am told that the TV is on the truck and they need to setup a delivery date. Waited 2 more business days, no call and no delivery date. Went into Best Buy today and spoke with the sales manager on this issue. He called his regional service individual, they stated the TV could not be cancelled until the delivery date was established. I struggle understanding any of this logic. I was told that if I waited a few more days it would be corrected. Let me be clear my TV was in the warehouse and the system would not let him cancel my order and just start new. I asked for my money back. Not sure how this company stays in business with this type of systematic failure. I have NO words to describe my feelings, but my wallet will find other stores that can spend my money. Unbelievable is all I can say. A new Best Buy hater is born!

    We waiting more than 12 hours, they arrived after 8:30 pm. Hurriedly set it up. Gave VERY short lesson on how to use. All 3 guys used our bathroom and left.

    TV Setup was done properly except for proper sound bar hook up. Had to have another Geek Squad rep come out to get sound bar working.

    Agent hooked up my devices but didn't explain how to use the remote with TV, No explanation on how to use the DVD player I purchased. I tried to talk to him but noticed he was looking at his phone so I felt like he was in a hurry to leave. My devices were connected but I wanted further instructions were needed to show me how to use the new equipment since no instructions were included.

    Install a 75' TV

    I paid for the Geek Squad to unload and hook up my new 75 inch TV. I had already taken the one that I replaced downstairs and wanted that one hooked up too. I had a sound bar for both. First they didn't bring the right TV and had to go back. Then they unboxed the new one set it up and hooked up sound bar but din't bother to make sure the remotes were working. I had to dig and research. I was very frustrated. Downstairs they only hooked up the TV that was very simple and didn't bother to hook up sound bar that was right there. Summary: I think they are incompetent and it WAS NOT worth the price I paid. I could have easily done it on my own and except for unpacking the new TV and setting it up on cabinet I could have done it all easily. Lousy.

      Thanks for reaching out to us about your delivery/install experience. Getting a new TV should be an exciting time, and our mounting and setup is meant to make the process as stress-free as possible. However, we can understand how that wouldn't be the case if the setup wasn't completed, and the wrong TV was brought out. If the remote you wanted setup with the TV was a universal remote, there would be a separate charge for getting that taken care of. Otherwise, our Agents could have taken care of that when setting up the TV. We do have a 90-day service warranty on our installs, so you can have someone come back out to redo the services if not taken care of at the time by calling us at (800) GEEK-SQUAD or (800) 433-5778 to schedule a redo appointment. That said, having the soundbar hooked up to the TV at the time of setup would also be an additional fee, and not automatically included with TV mounting and set up. If you paid for that to be taken care of, please give that number a call so we can get this corrected.

    When I made this appointment, the sweet young thing taking the order needed to stop and ask a co-worker for help several times. I was getting a little frustrated with the amount of time it took to complete the process. But as I found out later, that was only the beginning. We were moving into a new house. Within minutes of the installers arrival, I was told by them that the job had been scheduled incorrectly and they could not do the work. I clarified that they had the time scheduled (yes), the correct tools to do the job (yes), and the ability to do the job (yes). But the store made a mistake and I needed to call the store to correct it. But the store informed me that the correction meant the job couldn’t be completed that day. Building a home takes many steps, many coordinating tasks between many people. This scheduling delay postponed other tasks that couldn’t be completed before the installation. I was aghast that even though the workers were there and could perform the needed work, they had to leave and come back another day due to a scheduling error and that that error took two additional days to correct and then delayed several other tasks we had thought/planned for completion on our moving day. Never again.

      Thanks for taking the time to upload this review. Building a home should be an exciting time, and we're honored that you came to us so we could be apart of it. However, the experience you described is far from the one we aimed to provide when you first came to us for help. We appreciate that you were patient with the employee when first making the appointment, so I offer our greatest apologies that the appointment was then scheduled incorrectly.

      I can imagine how shocked I would be if Agents came out with all the correct tools, but still could not perform the task due to it being in our system incorrectly. While I know it doesn't change the situation, I am sorry that we put you in that position and for the impact is had on your projects going forward. If you haven't already, I recommend reaching out to the store where your appointment was originally scheduled to see if one of the store managers can try to speed up the process of getting another team out there.

    Did not duplicate set up I originally had. When they left, could not access cable tv. Had no clue how to reinstall my Universal Remote which Best Buy had installed originally. Very dissatisfied

    Setup was scheduled for Monday following purchase. They did not come or call to reschedule. We had to call to get rescheduled.

    Arrived a hour and a half after given time frame. T.V. And soundbar do not work correctly. Have to unplug and plug back in the soundbar to get it to work. And T.V. Turns off by itself. Very frustrating.

    One guy was very nice, the other very pushy and over bearing. I had already been pitched the extended warranty and declined this, but he continued to try to get me to take it. He was trying to up sell me other add ons and other items. I appreciate that they have the cables you need with them and their knowledge, but if I wanted a high pressure sales guy I would go to the comissioned sales floor. I would recommend this but it would be with a warning of what is to come.

    The Geek squad didn't do the job properly at first, they had to come back after a few days to finish mounting my TV properly

    I had two televisions installed. I have the Best Buy total care or whatever they call it. It cost me 200 per tv. When the installation team showed up they told me I overpaid. I just needed. The mounting brackets hung. The televisions were already programmed. $400. For a half hour of work at most. I had the brackets and the bolts to install. If I could give zero I would

    The technicians set up the TV but didn’t finish. They wanted me to have an electrician check something and text them when done to arrange to come back . I texted them when it was done and have not had a reply.

    Tv installtion experience

    The installer tried to install our new tv with an existing tv mount even though the new one is ultra-thin, then was annoyed when asked to use the mount that came with the tv in the box. He left knowing the remote did not work the sound on a new tv and then after speaking to him he said he would call back to figure it out, its been 5 days and 4 phone calls with zero response. The tv is mounted so low that when you sit on a couch the soundbar blocks the bottom of the screen. Very poor attention to detail with this installation. Little pieces of plastic and zip ties were found on the ground where our newborn crawls, ladder left out. We are requesting a refund to hire another company to properly install this unit.
