In this con figuration the tv is about twelve inches or so out from the wall due to the mechanics of the mast . I believe I will take the monitor off the mast and wall mount it to free up more room in my bedroom Overall this is a great platform for the other devices in my home theater set up. Very solid shelves and the versatility of option of mounting to the wall or the stand is nice The price was also a great value
