book was better than the movie. Got to put faces to the characters I read about. The soundtrack is awesome too. It could have been such a better movie but the director did a horrible job. When making a movie based on a book you need to stick with what happens in the book. She took too many liberties and changed too many things.

What can you say. Vampires battling werewolves, a love story, a battle, and mediocre acting. Not for brain surgeons, but that wasn't the audience. I wouldn't recommend it for AARP members, but young women love these movies and that is who received it as a gift.

If you're a fan of the series, you can definitely find things to like about this film. Personally, I felt the cinematography was a bit too pretentious in it's attempt to channel independent foreign films, but it's a decent adaptation of the novel by Stephanie Meyer.

I would say this movie is just ok. It's a decent plot but looks like the low budget movie it was. The acting was horrible. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the series to see how much it improves since it has become so popular.

DVD arrived in excellent condition and at a decent price. This is a good movie, though the movies get better as the series continue.

For a vampire movie it really isn't all that great in my opinion.

Acting is ok, special effects so so, Breaking Dawn part two is much better

Good price for part of a very interesting movie series.

This movie could've been so much better. Now, I've not read the books, but I know a few people that have, and they said the book was a lot better. (Then again, book's usually are better than the movies, because movies always have to cut some stuff out.) My wife and I are collectors of both. We have about 500 or so books and about 2,000 DVDs. I'm not bragging, just showing credibility. That said, this review is about the movie. I thought the cinematograghy was great, the plot was decent, but the acting was horrible. Plus, my wife and I thought the movie was childishly done. I know the actors are teenagers, but the way it was filmed is like it was strictly for kids and teenagers. I don't even know how it got a PG-13 rating. It was like a PG Disney movie or something. When we got it, we thought it was going to be more serious. On the other hand, I hear the next one, New Moon, is suppose to be better, more for adults. Maybe the movies mature as the characters do. So, if you're looking for a good vampire horror, this is NOT the movie. But, if you want a nice little heart-warming family film, that happens to be about a family of vampires, then this would be a good movie. We were under the impression it was horror/romance, not a kids movie. If you haven't bought it yet, I'd wait for it to drop to $9.99 or just rent it. I hope this review was useful. Also, when I say at the bottom, I would NOT recommend this to a friend, it's because I don't have kids for friends. I would ONLY recommend this to kids, teenagers or families.

Lets start with the fact that I enjoyed the movie and I have also read the books. Now anyone who says the acting in this movie is good needs to get out and see more movies. I say this because this had some of the worst acting I have ever seen. There were lots of awkward pauses that did not need to be there. The special effects were downright abysmal. All I can say is they are definitely going to need a better budget for special effects for New Moon because certain aspects of that book will need it. I will definitely give this movie series another chance with new moon but if its as bad as this one then i will give up on it.

I recently started reading Stephanie Meyer's series and loved the books. I couldn't put them down. I was so excited to finally get to see the movie and see what all the hype was about. I was expecting the books to be translated on the big screen as Harry Potter was, but I was very disappointed. The acting was just terrible and the movie was very low budgeted. It wasn't too terrible....but no where near the excitement and romance in the novels.

I did it backwards and saw the movie first before I touched any of the books. I didn't like the movie at all when I saw it, it had it 's good parts but nothing overwhelming to me. When I read the book, I was even more dissappointed in the movie. The only thing I really like from the movie is the baseball scence. As a person who has read all the Harry Potter books and saw all the movies Twlilight could have been much better than it was. As we know Harry Potter books contain a lot of info, but I've never been as dissappointed as I am in Twilight.

The film succeeds where the book fails, making Bella a more approachable teenager and removing the dozens of extended scenes in the novel that focused entirely on how beautiful and perfect and sparkly and amazing Edward is. Cheers to that! Good for a laugh, but fails as either a serious romantic or vampire film.

I loved the book. But I must admitt the movie could use some work. Terrible acting and the action scenes were ridiculous. All in all the movie was ok. ._. And most likely I would end up telling a friend about the movie.

Just doesn't live up to the books. Kind of a disappointment..

Could have been a little more action, just no enough action the book was better to read.
