Fun lights for any occasion

We use them outdoors, but they would look great inside, too. The wifi connection sometimes drops, especially if you have a neighbor in range with a non-password protected wifi signal. The application for your phone could use a user-interface upgrade to make functions easier to find and understand. But these are minor complaints about a generally great product.

She is completely bedridden so always looking for some visual stimulation. I pulled them out and plugged them in and they did not immediately light up like was stated should happen in the instructions. That was immediately concerning. But the controller unit lit up so I just figured I had to play with it some. A couple hours later I finally gave up. It seemed like the controller unit was working as it would flash like it was in the correct mode. I somehow got into a firmware update mode in the app and updated the firmware. But it still didn't light up. I came back to it a week or so later and tried some more. I was able to get the unit to connect to the wifi and everything on the app indicated it should be working. But none of the lights ever lit up in any fashion. I put it aside and thought I would play with it more at a later date. Well, of course time has passed. Too late to take these back to Best Buy. I submitted a help request via twinkly webpage. No response. Think twice about buying these. But if you do, try them out right away and immediately take them back if they don't immediately work. My mistake was thinking they really worked, and it was just needing me to get them in the correct mode. The lights never worked.

In order to utilize the pattern effect 500+ lights are recommended. The companion app could be better.

There are a couple reasons why I’m only giving it 4 stars, and it’s the little things that add up to take away a star. The connecting to Bluetooth can be finicky, just requires a little patience since it can take a few minutes and not as quick as other devices. We have this set on our outside fence and the mapping of the lights is pretty difficult set up this way. The last, and an odd design, the plug and Bluetooth box is in the center and the lights are split to half in each side of the power source. This last one takes some planning for the lights to placed correctly.
