I've owned my Surface 3 and type cover for a couple of months now. I find that the type cover works as advertised. It is comfortable and responsive, and the back-lit keys are a welcomed addition.

i waited for 6 months before deciding to get the external keyboard. For certain tasks it makes using so much easier. When watching videos I simply pull it off!

If you invest in a Surface 3 this keyboard is a must to get the benefit of the device. A bit pricey but great type feel, layout is excellent & it's even backlit!

I was unsure about the durability of the keyboard attachment, but it fits like a glove and stays put with a seal and lock magnetic device. Absolutely recommend!

This peripheral to the Surface 3 is a good addition to it's arsenal, but definitely NOT necessary. The on-screen keyboard is more than enough. I've only used it primarily to try typing, but for the most part I use the surface 3 as an ipad replacement.

I could not be happier with this product. It's functional, easy to use and provides a safe case for my son to carry his tablet in. It's also very stylish.

I have a Surface 3 and Pro 3 and as much as I like the keyboard/cover I find this to be too tight/close together but it's usable. If it was my primary system I would get a different keyboard but when I travel or use it anywhere it does the job.

This keyboard is a must have for your Surface and a definite step up from the keyboard of the Surface 2. The new track pad design is much easier to use.

If you have a surface 3, then you definitely need a type cover. The keys are back-lit and typing is comfortable enough for casual use. I don't like the trackpad very much. I find that its a bit small and takes too much time and effort to use.

I bought a Surface 3 as a desktop companion device to use when I travel. It's nice to be able to type emails, blogs, social media updates, etc. from a real keyboard instead of using a touchscreen. Is it overpriced? Yes, but it's perfectly designed to go with the Surface 3 and it's something I felt I needed. I wish the finish on the cover was less "fuzzy" because it seems like it will attract dirt, but other than that it's a solid accessory for the Surface 3.

I was truly surprised at how great this keyboard is. I was skeptical due to how thin the cover is but as soon as I attached it to my surface, I loved it.

I gave it 4 stars out of 5 only because of the price -- $130 is expensive for a keyboard. But at least this keyboard never has to be charged. It is taking some time getting used to the keys so close to each other. I do like the backlighting.

This keyboard is better than I expected, not rough or flimsy just an overall good product made by Microsoft.

Might seem a little pricey but you get what you pay for. It sure makes input much easier. Plug and play. Set itself up in seconds. Glad I bought it.

Probably the best add on for the surface. Clicks in easily and really turns this into a compact laptop for pushing through some some paperwork.
