Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the keyboard quality, ease of use, and lightweight design of the Type Cover for Microsoft Surface 3. Many appreciate its protective qualities and how well it fits the device. A common concern, however, is the relatively high price point. Some users also note that the material may be prone to staining or wear over time.

Wasn't sure I would like the Surface 3 key board and cover, but after trying it I'm very happy with it. The keys are nice size for a small key board, and it make a nice cover to protect the screen when not in use.

I wouldn't say this is a necessity like the pen, but if you want the laptop feel more than the tablet feel, this is the way to go. The keys are pretty good, on the right side, I have small fingers tho so it's not too much of a problem. Backlit key feature is cool. Touch pad is not all that impressive I hardly ever use it.

I had the original typepad cover which we had used with the Surface 3 for several months. I wanted more of a "real" keyboard. This fits the bill just fine. The keyboard has a nice fell and the keys are responsive.

I was skeptic in spending the money for this keyboard but I am so glad I did! It connects and makes using the Surface 100% easier than with a generic Bluetooth keyboard. It's backlighted and that sold it for me.

These keyboards are so much better than the original keyboards (which I had with my first surface). It is an actual keyboard that has keys and is backlit, which is a great feature. Way better than the original.

I love the build quality, the keys, the backlighting. I can not think of anything negative about it, very happy with it. I had the black initially but decided to exchange it for the blue, just personal preference.

    A Must Have

The type cover is a must have for the Surface. It's backlit so you can type at night. It's snaps right into the Surface and no need for any extra power source. If you get a Surface, might as well get the type cover.

My old laptop died and I purchased a Surface along with the keypad cover and the pen - both are great additions. The keypad works great and magnetically snaps on without any issues. The exterior of the cover has a slight "suede" feel to it - I would prefer something smoother but that is the only drawback for me.

You really need a keyboard for the Surface. Acts as a screen guard somewhat. You have to realize it is smaller and takes time to get used to. I adapted quickly.

These keyboard /covers are a must have for the surface line. I know they cost extra, but they fit really well with the magnetic interface, are easy to type on and do a great job of protecting the screen surface.

pros: keyboard is very durable and easy to use, and I like that I don't have to take it off to use the Surface 3 as a touch pad. Cons: I wish that the right side of the mouse pad had a scroll option, this would make it a little more user friendly.

Not much to review here. It is a great feeling keyboard that fits seamlessly on the Surface 3. Magnets are strong and keep it connected well and when flipped over the cover does its job and looks nice.

I did some research and decided this was the type of keyboard that would be the best for my new Pro. I was very happy I did. I have had no problems at all...very simple and neat. Worth the money to me.

We bought this to go with my 11-year old daughter's Surface. She uses daily for school and loves it. Keyboard is light, connects perfectly to her computer and keys don't get stuck or show signs of fading.

The functionality is available and it serves the purpose. I was hoping that it was the same size as the Surface Pro 3 and you could fold it up and attach it to the tablet/laptop, it would stayed closed together. Not much of a choice but to recommend this product to someone if they prefer a keyboard.

Bought this with a Surface 3 during a recent Best Buy sale, and I have been very happy. This with the Surface 3 has made taking notes at college a lot easier than bringing in my much bigger laptop.

Functions like an awesome ergonomic keyboard!

The combination of the keys on the keyboard being large and the keyboard being tilted allows me to hold my hands and wrists in a natural position as I type. I use an ergonomic keyboard when I work on a desktop model. Therefore, I was resigned to the fact that until somebody started making ergonomic laptop keyboards, I would never be owning a laptop since the keys are too small and how my wrists rest on the laptop keyboard always make my wrists hurt. This keyboard makes my working on a portable computer possible. The touch needed for the keys is just perfect for me. Finally, the keyboard being lightweight does not significantly contribute to the weight of the computer set up when carrying the laptop.

I am more than pleased with this keyboard. Love that it is back lit and is solid. The only thing I miss from my laptop is this keyboard does not have a numbers keypad. Otherwise I am very pleased.

I haven't really taken advantage of the illuminated keys option yet, but the best thing about this is that it doesn't need batteries. Its overly expensive, but it is a pretty unique accessory.

I really enjoy using the Microsoft Surface keyboard because I can use my surface as a computer when I don't feel like getting on the bigger laptop but I can use the tablet functions as well.
