I was disappointed that I had to buy this separate from the Surface. But if you plan on using your Surface like a laptop, the keyboard is a must. It works great and adds no weight to the device.

If you get a Surface 3 then get a type cover to protect the device and complete the usability experience. Key feel, key back lighting, and magnetic angling are nice over the 1st gen type covers.

I bought this as an accessory to my wife's Surface 3. WOW! So easy to connect - just let the magnet do it's thing and BOOM, you're done. The keys are BIG but the footprint is small. Works GREAT!

Got it cheaper with the open box option, everything works, lights up cool, cool color. The only thing is that it swings unless you hold it back, but I solved that with double-sided velcro tape

After purchasing my new Surface 3 I definitely wanted to keep the red motif as my older Surface was red. I was so happy there was a type cover in red so, naturally, I purchased it immediately.

The keyboard is a great addition to the Surface 3, and really should come included. My only complaint is that the cost is a little high, considering the cost of the product you are attaching it to. It works very well and the mouse pad and keys are surprisingly accurate and efficient.

The keyboard/cover attach to the Surface 3 crazy fast. You barely get it near it and the magnets grab and pull it into place. The keys are back lite so it works great in lowlight situations.

Perfect fit for my MS Surface 3. I bought a Red Surface 3 with which this keyboard matches perfectly well.

When I purchased the Surface 3 this keyboard was free, it is a Nice looking keyboard, very good back lighting responds well, it connects to the tablet very easily, very happy with it.

This keyboard is great. Very functional without adding bulk to the device. Love how it's designed to not accept key presses when it's folded behind the Surface using it as a tablet.

This is a really good keyboard. The best out there, especially that the keyboard lights up. I would give it a 5 star rating, but I just do not get the touchpad. It works sometimes and sometimes, I just can't get it to select properly. I am not sure I am touching it right...

I love the convenience that this detachable keypad offers for my Surface 3. It attaches easily, works great and stores easily with my device in its carrying case.

It's a pretty good keyboard. It acts as a "smart cover," which puts the Surface into sleep mode when you close this around it. My only issue is that occasionally (it's happened about 3-4 times) it won't respond. But, if I unattach and then reattach it, it works just fine.

It protects the screen very well and the magnetic attachment is very strong. It is nice to have the keyboard right there. When it's closed, you don't have accidental key strikes.

I take the off and on quite often. It is easy to pop off. Putting it back on is very easy. One time I needed to shut down for it to register but besides that didn't have a problem.

of all the colors I love the red keyboard but other than that the keyboard is easy to use and doesn't get impossible to manger like some of the other keyboards out there for tablets

So happy that I decided to get this keyboard when I purchased a Surface 3 tablet. Setting it up with the magnetization is very easy and quick. Good purchase and nice price, too.

We bought the Surface Pro for my mother and purchased this accessory. She never had a computer before and loves the accessibility and easy that the Surface Pro & Key board offer.

Not sure how many consumers have or would purchase a surface w/o the type cover, but based on my experience, it should not be an optional item, but rather included. Works well as both a keyboard and a screen cover. Backlit keys are easy to use in a dimly lit or dark room.

This keyboard is a little smaller than the surface pro but so is the surface 3 so it makes sense. Standard Microsoft surface keyboard. The blue adds a little color to the surface.
