The 4 blinking lights indicate the device's battery status, and is extremely useful. Does what it advertises it does. The only downfall i have noticed, based on a lack of experience with portable battery banks, it discharges sometimes. I have noticed that the device loses charge through inactivity. This is the case for most external battery packs, so I would not say this should stop anyone from purchasing the product.
