The UAG Metropolis Apple iPad Keyboard Folio is a decent enough keyboard case with a few drawbacks that keep it from being a great product. First, the features. This is a full tablet case with detachable keyboard. It is considered rugged and provides drop protection up to 8 feet, which is pretty impressive for something the size of an iPad. The keyboard itself is spill resistant, Bluetooth, backlit, and features a trackpad and dedicated multimedia keys. All very welcome features. The fit and feel of the case is nice, if a little bulky. But that is to be expected with something marketed as rugged. But for my tastes,it is just a little too bulky. And one thing that really annoyed me the more I used it was the little magnetic flap that just kind of dangles there if you have the case open. It got in the way more than anything. Standing the tablet up to use the keyboard is a bit awkward, and I definitely had to look at the instructions to see what I was doing wrong. Most of these things are easy enough to figure out on your own, but this one will definitely require a peek at the instructions. Once set up, it is sturdy enough, and the tablet sits at a comfortable angle for typing. Actually using the keyboard got a little frustrating for me. These tablet keyboards all suffer from the same problem, and that is that they are confined to the size of the tablet. And on a 10.2 inch iPad, there just isn’t enough real estate there for a comfortable typing experience. I can usually type about 60wpm, but on this keyboard that dropped to about 45-50wpm, and my hands were pretty achy after about 30 minutes of use. Everything is just a bit too small. And for anyone who is used to typing on a full sized keyboard, you will find yourself making a lot of typos and just having to look at the keyboard more than you’re used to. And the Backspace/Delete key is just slightly not where I expect, so I tend to hit the ‘=‘ key more often than I’d like. The backlight is a nice touch. It features a few different colors you can cycle through, so that is an appreciated feature. The dedicated media keys are also a nice touch, and work very well. The keyboard features its own battery, so it must be charged separately from the iPad, and powered on and off separately as well. That being said, it does feature a good size battery that lasts several hours on a single charge. In conclusion, this is a well-made keyboard folio case for the iPad, and will offer great protection while providing a convenient removable keyboard. Unfortunately, the keyboard leaves a lot to be desired as far as comfort and usability goes. Unless you absolutely need the rugged protection of this keyboard, there are better options available in this price range.

This is the case you want for your iPad! Backlit keyboard and rugged design makes this an excellent choice for your new ipad. Your iPad connects physically with strong magnets that are not designed to work with your iPads in-built magnet system but use a separate rugged case that your ipad slides into. The software connection is handled wirelessly via Bluetooth and connects seamlessly every time. The keyboard key feedback is very good. Not too clicky and with decent travel. This keyboard also includes and mouse trackpad. The trackpad is pretty good although not quite up to par with something found on premium laptops but good enough for sure. One con I’ve found is viewing angle adjustment doesn’t allow for many options. I did not test the 8 ft drop test but that is also a feature of this rugged keyboard. It is also water resistant but there is no ipx water ingress rating that I have found. A nice feature is that you can pair this keyboard with 2 devices so it’s easy to switch out keyboards from you ipad to you phone.

If you are looking for a case and keyboard setup for your iPad, lol no more. The UAG folio is great! The case for the iPad is thick plastic and sticks magnetically to the folio case itself. I love the Apple Pencil holder, which also works with the Logitech Crayon pencil. It holds it sturdy enough to where I am confident it won’t fall out. The actual folio case is made of pottery rugged material that adds a layer of extra protection for the iPad and the keyboard. The actual setup is so easy. To start, it was easy to get the iPad onto the hard case. Unlike other cases that make it difficult. As for the Bluetooth connectivity, hit the on button on the keyboard, go into your iPad’s settings and link it is Bluetooth. You’ll be up and running in no time. The keyboard is very responsive, as well as the mouse feature. I feel confident that the UAG folio will protect my iPad if I were to accidentally drop it. The actual hard case enclosure, along with the folio, is more than enough protection. Overall, I would highly recommend the UAG folio keyboard to anyone.

When I first got my hands on this case for my device, I was filled with anticipation. The product boasted of 'Ultimate Protection,' with claims of '360-degree unstoppable protection, up to 8ft. Drop Protection.' These lofty promises, coupled with the premium price, set my expectations sky-high. Regrettably, the product fell short in a crucial area—drop protection. Contrary to the product's claims, my iPad, supposedly shielded in this 'fortress,' suffered significant damage from a fall of less than 4 feet onto a wooden floor. The edge was shattered, and the screen was left with a prominent crack, leaving my device in a pitiful state. This incident was both disheartening and unexpected, given the product's bold assertions of up to 8-foot drop protection. Confronted with the stark contrast between the advertised durability and the actual performance, I attempted to reach out to the manufacturer. However, their response was far from satisfactory, leaving me with the impression that they were evading any responsibility. In light of this, I cannot in good conscience recommend this iPad case. It's a costly investment that fails to deliver on its promises of protection. For those seeking dependable drop protection for their device, I urge you to explore other options available in the market.
