We compared UE Boom vs the Amazon Echo. Ended up keeping the Echo and returning the UE Boom. I liked the extra capabilities (e.g. voice commands, internet lookup, Pandora and iHeart Radio support, etc.) of the Echo vs the one dimensional capability for the UE Boom.

Pretty good, I got one if these last minute for a meeting, the dound was good, not as loud as my previous speaker (iloud) but it definitely did the trick!!! Pretty good sound out of this little speaker

I bought one a few months ago at regular price and then this became available for half price on a 4 hour sale so I bought another one. A heck of a deal

You have to pull on the circuit board to change the batteries. So of course the wires break off when you pull on the circuit board. What did they think would happen? Had great sound though.

I like to use it near my shower. Listen to streamed music while showering or bathing. I bought a case for it so can take it to the beach or on the road.

UE-Boom sounds great well built but if you use bluetooth and the volume full blast your battery life only last about 2 hours yet it advertises up to 15 hours per charge

I had trouble establishing and maintaining connectivity. Have exchanged for another and initially it would not pair with my phone. Hopefully, this one will work more consistently.

I wanted a Bluetooth speaker with wireless capability to play music throughout my house. There was no depth in the sound and if turned up too loud the volume is distorted.

I'll start by saying that yes, Bose does sound better and so does the JBL Charge, but the UE Boom is still my top choice. If you live an active lifestyle and want to have a speaker on the go, then this is a great pick. It's water resistant, durable, loud while maintaining excellent sound quality, has a looong battery life and functions as a speakerphone. If you're looking for something to sit on a desk all the time then go with the Bose mini or the Charge. The Charge even charges your phone which is pretty clutch. But if you plan to go hiking or want something to play on the sidelines in a tournament or something that might get exposed to rain, movement and a little wear, then the UE Boom is a clear winner. They even pay attention to the little things: there's an app for EQ, an alarm clock, and to pair with another speaker, there's a metal loop so that you can attach it to a backpack or your belt or hang it from a tree, it comes with a sweet neon charger with a long, flat (so that it doesn't tangle) usb cord. Yes, the UE Boom is a small step down in sound quality from Bose and JBL (a very small step... a lot of people probably wouldn't notice), but it's got a lot of other qualities that make it pretty sweet. And it is definitely better than the other big names, Jambone Jambox and Beats Pill.

Perfect for outdoors, lows arent as strong but mids and highs make it perfect in open areas
