Even though it is advertised as having a 15 hour battery life, it never lasts more than three hours. This was a huge disappointment.

Obviously it's great for outside and gets quite loud, but I got this based on the sound quality and small footprint for indoor use. This takes up very little space standing on a desk and sounds great at lower volumes, which is what I'm using it for. Battery life goes a whole week of listening to podcasts and music a few hours a day. Great package of features here, including the ability to turn it on remotely from your phone. Love using this thing at home and obviously it's great for outdoors and traveling too

This little speaker is the size of a can of monster! But packs some serious sound quality and boom into such a small package. Being able to pair up 2 of these types of speakers is great if you have friends who have any of the BOOM lineup through the app. Really can't believe it was on sale for $100 and I seriously considered buying another one but couldn't justify it since this is so loud as is. AMAZING battery life, only have to charge it maybe every 2-3 days if I run it all work day.

I compared the Bose and the UE Boom at home for a few days (thank you BB for your generous return policy). It was really hard to choose, but the Boom won out in the end for superior overall sound quality, great attention to design details, and features. The Bose does have a big pillowy bottom end that you can feel as well as hear, and that is something that's lacking on the Boom. But that's all it seems to offer in terms of sound quality. The sound of the Boom is much more detailed, and holds it own across the frequency range when you turn it up. I found that when things got loud on the Bose, I could hear a lot of pumping and breathing and compression because the bass just overwhelms the unit. I really like the attention to detail in the design of the Boom, as well. Example: Power-on and Bluetooth sound effects. It plays a nice subtle conga-drum sound, vs Bose's rather loud and annoying blip. You can press the volume up/down buttons at the same time and a (again, quiet) voice tells you in 10% increments how much charge remains. It charges via universal micro-USB (and comes with its own wall charger, which provides extra power than average for quicker charging). The supplied cable is tangle-proof. The finish of the product is rubberized for a sturdy feel. The power LED is simple and soft-white. And - footprint. As the Boom stands on end, you can put it pretty much anywhere. You can even remove the D-ring and stand it on a tripod mount. The Boom comes with an IOS / Android app that allows you to choose EQ settings, view the battery level, get product help, and pair two units for more "Boom-osity". The EQ settings don't really change the sound that much. It has a very strong and detailed mid-range, which is the default "Out Loud" setting. "Intimate" tones down the mids/highs a little, and "Bass Boost" punches up the bass some. There's also a setting for spoken material, which thins out the sound if you're into that. When I first opened the app, it told me there was a firmware upgrade, which I applied by plugging in the device into my computer USB. It only added a couple of features, notably the Bass Boost EQ setting, but I appreciate that it's upgradeable… whether there will be more remains to be seen. The Bose has a lot going for it, and if you enjoy your music at lower volumes you may well enjoy it, but for me the better sound, advanced design, and feature set of the UE Boom made it the winner.

The wireless feature via Bluetooth is awesome. The sound is supposedly top of the line but I really liked my older portable stereo that was larger and carried a LOT more Bass. UE Boom feels the room with sound. Downloading/updating software has been confusing. But the durability and battery life as well as it's compact size all make this unit great. Priced too high.

The sound and (build) quality is fantastic on this device! It was a little smaller than I expected, but after playing some tunes that thought immediately vanished. I purchased the UE Boom on a whim because I noticed it was half off (not to mention all the positive reviews as well) and was thinking, "why not?!" So far, this purchase has been an unregrettable one, however slightly regrettable because I now realize I should have purchased another!

I purchased my first UE Boom for listening to audiobooks in my car, for which it was great. However when I purchased a second unit and used the iPhone software for stereo music play, the true clarity and power of the Boom boomed forth. I've yet to hear a better portable Bluetooth speaker.

The UE Boom is an amazing Bluetooth Speaker! The sound quality is outstanding for the price of it. The sound does travel a great distance and you can hear it on any side of it thanks to the 360degree sound! It is also water resistant so I'm safe using it outside near my pool! Great quality product for the price!!

I was fairly skeptical of the UE Boom on price-to-performance grounds. Then I bought it. This speaker is incredible. It's about the size of a Tall-Boy beer can and pumps out fantastic sound. I find the Jambox (and even, to some extent, the Bose Soundlink Mini) a bit too bass-y for my taste. In particular, voices on podcasts sound muddled and unclear. The UE Boom solves all of this and more: my girlfriend and I were absolutely stunned by the sound quality. The speaker also allows for two Bluetooth devices to be paired at once and for music to be played in turns. Battery life? It was 40% charged out of the box and down to 30% after about 5 hours of listening at moderate volume. That translates to about 50 hours total...I find that pretty unrealistic (Logitech advertises 15-hour battery life). In any case, we'll just have to see on that score. In sum: An unbelievable little speaker. If you're on the fence, buy it.

The speaker is great I had the beats pill and took it back after reading the reviews and the sound that the beats was putting out this speaker is far better in Sound quality and durability. The speaker is water resistant and and you can put it on a tripod if you like or not and it can hang from A hook. You will not be disappointed with this speaker and the features are better then the Bose mini and about the same with the beats pill .

i have the beats pill, bose mini, jawbone jambox and a few other small speakers, but this UE Boom out performs them all. also can be used as a spakerphone, dipped in water and still worked. it actually speaks and says the battery percentage, theres also a free app to let you use 2 speakers at once, control the volume from your device.

I purchased this to replace a Beats Pill I have owned for the past 2 years. This speaker is everything the Pill is not!! Deep rich bass and a very long lasting battery. I am very happy with the purchase.

We bought this unit to take on the river, camping, sitting around the fire pit...etc. it has surpassed our expectations for quality and battery life. The sound from our Boom is amazing for what t is. Does the bass pound? No....but for he size it is more than adequate. Inside I rarely turn it up past half. It really fils the room with sound! The battery life is all that you could ask for. I will say that if it is cranked you are not gonna get 15 hours out of it but I play it at least 8 hours when camping and I have never run out of battery. Sped the extra money on this unit and you will not regret it. It's worth every penny!

This is an amazing little speaker. For the price and size, the sound quality is stunning. When I paired my iPod and hit play, I had my iPod volume up all the way, and the sound that came out of the BOOM had my mouth hanging open. I didn't know such a tiny speaker could put out such great sound. I'm tempted to go out and get a second one. You will not regret purchasing this little bad boy.

The speaker wasn't loud enough for our needs. We also didn't like volume adjustment buttons.

The sound is fantastic. Setup and usage of the app is super easy. However the "smart bluetooth" feature that should allow a user to remotely turn the unit back on doesnt seem to work right, but thats a minor drawback

This small light weight speaker plays large awesome bass, great for the driveway with friends,or the beach.Love the speaker!!!!!

I purchased this great little speaker after purchasing a Jawbone Jawbox (which is ok at low volumn levels). I went to best buy and found a young man who was full of knowlege about bluetooth speakers. He and I picked out the 3 speakers we thought were the best and did a side by side comparison. He did a demo on all 3 of them over and over with different types of music to get the full affect of the speakes. We looked at the Bose Mini, the Bose II and the UE Boom. The UE Boom in my opinion outperformed the 2 Bose speakers. I am in no way an audio expert, but my ears work great. This little speaker connected to my Samsung SIII quickly, the volume on the speaker is eay to use. The packaging is pretty cool also. I just cant bring myself to throw it away. Get one and enjoy the sound.

I originally received a Beats Pill as a gift. My daughter had a UE Boom, and the sound is no comparison. The Boom provides a much fuller, less tinny sound. I returned the Pill and got my own Boom. It holds a good long charge and syncs quickly. Now my only trouble is figuring out which UE Boom is mine in my Bluetooth devices list!

It's small. It's portable. It's LOUD. Perfect for the bathroom while showering or in the den. Everyone should get one.
