The sound from this speaker is amazing. Clean crisp and loud. The only challenge I see is the wireless distance is more like 40 feet than the stated 50 feet at least with my iPhone. I'm amazed though at the quality of the sound from this small speaker. I would highly recommend it.

Purchased two of these in the last few years, and have been very happy with. Love the sound quality, and adding the second speaker lets us run them as a L/R stereo pair. The image area is great, and seems close to 360 degree. After shopping lots of portable speakers, these are my first choice.

Looked at many reviews for several portable bluetooth speakers and kept going back to this one. Went ahead and purchased it, and was blown away at how great the sound is coming out of this little unit! Highly recommend, and worth the price if you want great sound quality

This is a good speaker not as amazing as most of the reviews spent a lot less money on a jbl flip and it sounds just as good

This is a decent Bluetooth speaker in the price range. It gives good sound in surrounding area and good bass. It has a problem when you get any notification then the sound goes down and doesn't automatically go up.

    Terrific Sound, Horrible Value

There's no denying this unit gives you terrific sound, but in terms of good value and longevity, I have to disagree. By purchasing the UE Boom, you're essentially leasing this speaker for $200 every two years or so; the life of this product is determined by the life of the non replaceable battery. All rechargeable batteries have a limited charge cycle and the ability to hold charge decreases over time. I have confirmed with logitech, they have no intention of replacing the battery. This is already a luxury accessory, and for most it's difficult to come to terms with spending $200 on a bluetooth speaker. Now factor in, buying one every 2 years or so. I'd gladly shave off a few hours of playback for a user replaceable battery. I wouldn't even mind paying Logitech a fee to replace the battery after the warranty expires, but who wants a $200 brick? Always remember with this unit: Product Life=Battery Life. For this reason, I'll likely go with the Bose Sound Link Mini; at least it has a user replaceable battery, thus prolonging the life of the product for years to come.

    Not worth it overhyped.

So I picked this up yesterday to use at my work. It does not live up to the hype for $199. First I'll start with the good. The design is unique it looks nice in the black colorway. The build quality is very good, it feels substantial in the hand. Now for the bad. Bluetooth range is not even close to 50ft it starts to break up after about 15ft. The battery is laughable, I got 2.5 hrs out of it on a full charge. Keep in mind I did the firmware updates. The sound quality is bad, the highs are harsh and tinny, the mids are also somewhat harsh and the lows are barely there and when they are they distort at every frequency. Also not being able to use it while it's charging is stupid. I am admittedly a bit of an audio snob I suppose, so that might be why I'm being so hard on this speaker. I have audioengine A2+'s on my computer, Klipsch se215 earbuds, and beyerdynamics 880 pros. So I have a good sence of quality speakers and and what good sound reproduction is supposed to sound like. The UE Boom is not a good sounding speaker in any form. Get a big jambox over these it's worth the $100 difference.

Wow needed to replace brand pill which did not do well in the active life I live. A guy from UE Boom "Larry" was at the store gave me a totally mind blowing demo and knew this is what would fill my need. We are on day two now and this boom has not let me or my party friends down. The app and blue tooth connection make this thing rock. Even the road trip part was wild because the boom is a hands free speaker phone so everyone can be in on the call and directions sing. So glad I found Larry and the Boom.

Great sound. The bass is a little light but for a single portable speaker very acceptable. Setup was easy. the added bonus is the speakerphone. Sound quality better than iPhone microphone

    Don't upgrade the software

I bought two of these speakers a couple of weeks ago and the quality was beyond my expectation. I downloaded the app and synced the speakers with no problems. I received a request to update the speaker software for additional features. After the update the speakers would not sync correctly. I was able to get them to sync for a few minutes and if i changed songs the sync was gone again. Serious bug in the new software. Do not update the software if you want to sync two speakers!! Hopefully they will fix the bug before I move on to speakers that actually work!!

    Quality Issues

I was initially very happy with the purchase. For the size of this thing, it makes a great amount of noise and the sound quality is pretty good. Purchased it in August of 2014 and the battery died on me on May of 2015. And honestly I'm a casual user. It may get use once a week if that. It still works if I keep the unit plugged into the wall. However without the plug it will shut off after a few minutes and will not charge. Extremely disappointed by this.

AVOID this product - the sound is good but the bluetooth and battery life are awful. I purchased two and have been sent 5 replacements so far. Beyond 3 feet the bluetooth is spotty and battery life has only ranged from 50 to 100 minutes. AVOID!

    Do not purchase this Speaker!

Do not buy this product! UE boom Speaker came off my clip and was lost while snowboarding. This is the second time this has happened. First time, Best buy exchanged the speaker with a new metal clip. This time, however, longitech said they would send a replacement because it was a cosmetic defect. However, I just received a claim denial because the speaker was lost. First, they should not have stated they would send a replacement, and second, I paid for a warranty that didn't cover this issue. (over $220 loss)! I will never purchase from Longitech again. I would not recommend this to any active individual looking to bring music on any physical activity. I will be sharing my experience on social media: Facebook, twitter and yelp.

Respectable Sound BUT extremely OVERPRICED for les

Does it sound great for the size of this speaker? A resounding YES!!! HOWEVER, the battery life absolutely SUCKS!!! I have done a 2-week tests using all my iOS and MAC devices... 1. iPhone 5 @ medium (half) volume = battery lasted for 2 1/2 hours. 2. IPad 4th gen @ medium (half) volume = battery lasted for 2 1/2 hours. 3. MacBook Air 3rd gen @ lowest volume = battery lasted 2 hours. 4. iPhone 3GS @ medium (half) column = battery lasted 2 1/2 hours. 5. iPhone 5 @ lowest volume = battery lasted just a few minutes short of 3 hours. I purchased this speaker on Aug 22. I decided to do a very thorough and extensive test on this speaker after my horrible first use experience. I used this evening of Aug 22 with my iPhone 5 at medium volume because I was in my office. A few short 2 hours later, it started to hiccup. The warning voice then came up saying "critical" something and then the freaking thing died on me. I decided to purchase the UE BOOM over JBL CHARGE because the salesperson informed me that this speaker is better and also holds 15-hr charge. She informed me that this speaker is really "geared" for outdoor use. There was zero truth to that sales pitch. This speaker barely lasted 3 hours. It was so freaking disappointing that we were stuck everyday at the beach with no music. I have combed the web to find out if my experience was a fluke and a rare one. However, this was not the case. I have read complaint reviews regarding battery life. This Bluetooth speaker is perfect if you are using it indoors and have immediate access to an ac and/or dc currents. You will be S.O.L. if you are at the beach or somewhere outdoors because the battery only lasts no more than 3 hours. Unless, of course, you have immediate access to ac/dc currents for immediate recharge.

    Avoid This Company

My UE Boom lasted 11 months before the battery stopped charging. They are warranted for two years. Nearly ten days in, and the company has so far failed to even send me a return label. Customer service has been completely inept, and Logitech has lost a customer.
