Owned this speaker for over a year. I've owned an iPhone since 2008. In that time I've owned numerous Bluetooth products (headphones, speakers, head sets) I have never had an issue with connectivity until attempting to use this "wonderful" speaker. When it works, it works great. No problems... exactly what you'd expect out of a Bluetooth speaker. However, almost every time I use this speaker I experience constant disconnects. We are talking like every 20, 30, 40 minutes. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Some days, speaker plays fine and it might disconnect once. Other days...it's just constant disconnects forcing me to reconnect. The thing is...in all my years in owning and using Bluetooth headphones from Anker, Jaybird, and Apple...I've never had those products drop the Bluetooth connection once. Same with Sync in my car, my Yamaha receiver, etc For a speaker that costs $200-$250 (if you can get it on sale or not) the connectivity issues on the Megablast are inexcusable. If you're on the fence...run away. And if you still want to play with fire, make sure you're aware of your return period.

GREAT GREAT sound and volume. However, Alexa operation is quite poor. Very poor microphone where you have to yell to get alexa to respond.

This speaker is unbelievable for the price and size. The adjustments that can be made for your own sounds, and the standard ones already built in make it awesome. Should of bought 2 while they were on sale!

I didn't know what to expect from the Ultimate Ears after my purchase. But when we fired it up on the back porch it had great bass and volume. A great purchase and very happy.

My husband loved it , for the size could be louder but crisp sound and the voice command isn't so great trying to get Alexa to hear u is a hassle

It was a great speaker I love that I can link it up to other peoples and we had a surround sound party. Easy to use and I love that I can use Alexa with it. Would buy again.

Purchased this as a gift for my husband and he loves it. Great Base Sound. Easy to use. Wish it was cheaper but I guess you get what you pay for.

The salesman seemed overly enthusiastic about the quality which made me skeptical but it really is the best sounding speaker I own. I actually bought my friend one because I was so impressed.

I gave this to my husband as an early father's day gift. He has a wood workshop. The appeal is the dust won't get in to kill it. Last night he had it on low in our room and it was awesome!

Worth the money. This jammie stays in the bathroom and stirs my morning. Great sound Not easily Breakable just a great piece of merchandise.

Great speaker. I traded in the Sonos roam for this speaker. Sound quality is great get the highs and lows that you need. Loudness is just right.

Great speaker, and a huge upgrade from the Gen 1 UE speaker. I haven’t tested the “waterproof” but it is water resistant after getting splashed at the pool.

We were looking for a quality speaker to use by the pool and this one does the job. The sound quality is great and the fact that is has Alexa is a plus. Highly recommend this speaker.

This delivers great sound quality all the way around it. Don’t think the battery lasts as long as it should, but it’s definitely worth buying. That is the reason for 4 stars.

I bought this product before and now it has gotten better with understanding of Alexa even at loud volumes I’m glad I re purchased it and the sound is pound and has great clarity

When Purchasing a wireless speaker I highly recommend making sure that it is both bluetooth and wifi compatible. The MegaBlast has lived up to everything it promised. I highly recommend it

This is a big disappointment - and I was so hopeful. * Alexa connection drops and shuts down unexpectedly * Power connection is in the bottom of the unit (you need to stand it upside down to charge while listening...awkward engineering) * Alexa is slow to respond (comparing to Echo) . You often have to repeat the question * No Speakerphone capability (WHAT??) - Assumed this was table stakes End of the day - if you want Alexa in a bluetooth speaker - buy an Echo. If you want a waterproof speaker / speaker phone that connects to others - Go JBL. Frustrated with this purchase - serious buyers remorse!!

I like taking it camping. I can set the speaker on an out side table while my iPod is inside the camper. Just wish it had a remote to turn the sound up or down.

I bought this Bluetooth specifically to use by the pool. It floats and it has been left in 90+ degree direct sunlight and no issues at all! I would definitely recommend this speaker.

I own a Google Home and I have played around with an Amazon Echo at my local Best Buy. Both are really good personal assistant devices but I was frankly underwhelmed by each device’s audio quality particularly when it comes to music playback. As a result I was excited to get the Ultimate Ears Megablast with the expectation of exceptional sound quality. The Megablast come nicely packaged and includes a power adapter, a usb cable, and some basic instructions. You need the Ultimate Ears app from either the Apple app store or the Google Play store to complete setup. Within the app one simply connects the Megablast to your WiFi network, pair Bluetooth devices, and sign into your Amazon account and you’re up and running. Can’t beat that for simplicity. I started off by asking Alexa some standard personal assistant questions like the time and weather then quickly moved on to music. I have an Amazon Music Unlimited account so I start requesting songs. I pump up the volume using the + control on the side of the device and I’m quickly blown away by the sound quality emanating from the Megablast. I put it through it paces by requesting various music selections from rock, to jazz, to classical. What a treat! Great music reproduced with great quality by simply asking Alexa. Deep bass and clean rich highs filled my house. Even on the max volume there was no distortion. This thing rocks. One disappointment I discovered which you should be aware of if you use Amazon Music Unlimited. Amazon offers a reduced pricing option called Amazon Echo monthly which limits your account to just one Echo device. It appears that this plan is only available on Echo devices and not on licensed devices such as the Megablast. I hope this changes in the future since Amazon support was even surprised that it didn’t work. I should point out another discovery that the Megablast powers off when not in use. I thought initially that this was a disappointing limitation for a personal assistant device until I found the setting in the app to change this auto sleep feature in time increments of 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 Hour, 3 hours, or never. You will get 16 hours of constant use on the never sleep setting. Impressive! Buyers should note that Ultimate Ears also sells a great charging dock accessory for the Megablast called the Ultimate Ears Power Up. This let’s you leave it on at all time while also maintaining a full charge for when you want to take the Megablast with you. When you do the unit is big but is still quite portable. I was happy to learn that the Megablast is also water resistant. Not only that but you could immerse in water up to 3 feet deep for 30 minutes. Why you would want to submerge such an expensive device is beyond me but hey you can if you want. As I used the device for several days one issue stood out. While the Magablast boasts a multiple microphone design with beam forming technology I found myself constantly repeating myself to get Alexa to respond. Very frustrating. I’m hoping that this is improved with a firmware update. Other than this one issue I was truly impressed by the Ultimate Ears Megablast. I would definitely recommend particularly for music lovers seeking excellent sound quality.
